@Livin Vids A bit disappointing that you left that one guy out, that just lost the election ...
@Livin Vids I dont know who you could possibly mean because he didn't disrupt any corrupt dealings and doubled down on what any other Republican president would have done. If what you wrote can serve as any example it's that Trumps base has lost any ability to question their pied piper...
@Livin Vids , I laughed at how many TDS sufferers tried to somehow connect Trump with Elizabeth Holmes when you just do the timetable involved. This sociopathic woman rose to power during the Obama administration when every fringe group felt embolden to demand special treatment because they were convinced they were being oppressed...and the Fake News media, like Forbes here, promoted her scam in trying to push a Woman Is the BESTEST narrative while ignoring all the obvious red flags. The agenda was more important than the truth.
@Livin Vids .... How ironic we're watching a video of a complete fraud who built a $9 billion dollar company by scamming people. And you're defending Trump.... a complete liar, fraud who scammed his way to the White House. Sit down hypocrite.
@Livin Vids ... Yes, anyone was better than Trump. Trump has caused permanent damage within the country.
It's amazing how she's not really answering his questions but she's saying a lot. It's mind blowing!
Yup, this is what she did for every single interview
IKR, he asked her about what inside the box and how it works but she dodge the question and just went on to talk about the fake data their published. The interviewer did not pick up on it because she buried the question with tons of the other stuff.
@@cainabel2009 very common in con artists -it really IS an art.
can tou give an example, please. sometimes it is hard to follow
"I dropped out to become a liar"
I'd bet you 9 Billion Dollars,, her Daddy bought her that Stanford admission to begin with. She was (probably) worthless in chemical engineering to begin with..
Cute
"The only difference between a fool and a genius is..... Genius has limitations.." Albert Einstein
Very true
"Genius may have its limitations, but stupidity is not thus handicapped." • Elbert Hubbard
That Einstein quote might be apocryphal.
The guy was so desperate for knowledge and she gave him nothing lol
I know right😁.
Look at how he’s sitting…. All in her space… it’s the only sympathy for her that you’ll hear from me.
It's amazing how all of the year old comments are edited. I find it hard to believe all these people were so insightful.
Ray M. Lol nice catch
lol good one
Ray M. Right!! I wish I were as clairvoyant as so many others in this world RIGHT HERE on CZcams no less! What are the odds? 😆
Wasn't she exposed in 2015 through WSJ article? If so, critical comments from 2018 (excuse me, and 2017) would make sense.
I didn't edit shit, was this before or after the WP article?
She should do a TED talk on how to create a massive fraud and not get federal charges.
Apparently, she did already.
Andrew Zenn , touché
First you have to be white, rich and have powerful connections
@M it makes totally sense. It’s usually the white men who gets the lower salaries and the majority unemployed.
She did
“I started this because people had to say goodbye too soon to people they love” She says this in every interview. Now her baby will be saying the same thing to her as she starts her prison sentence.
I don’t think she’ll get a custodial sentence, will she? I wish, though….
And "if you look up diagnosis in the dictionary"
That baby was born just in time.
Ha ha right on
Anyone who believed this 19 yr old drop out, deserves to lose their money.
Exactly what iv been thinking
You have to understand that to a lot of people unfamiliar with how different areas of science and tech works, they see one Steve Jobs and think you can do that anywhere. Holmes was in medical and you can't just drop out of that stuff and learn on your own like you can with programming or the like. It takes years and years. I would argue Elizabeth is very much one of these people herself. Anyone can have a vision, but only so many know what to do with it to make it happen. She was clueless, but she was banking on a fake it till you make it that you just can't do in medical.
She really doesn't speak Mandarin except a few words. Just more of her BS.
She uses opening words of helping people, disaster relief, family, good intentions, serve, making a difference in the world, in people's lives, losing loved ones, meaningful, business words, product- notice the words she uses right off the bat- along with the deeper voice (to be taken more seriously) along with the black clothing (serious), and being pretty along with the intimate body posture and open hand gestures- she is the picture of body language to do.
Yes, the buzz words are activated....
Pretty?
Orange is definelty the new black. Welcome to prison and with that voice you're going to be the stud
Her voice is fine, and she's not going to prison.
Nah man, check out the board of directors for Theranos. She’s not going to jail.
KindOfAHag Got news for you, she is going to prison!
No, she isn't.
KindOfAHag who gives a shit
She just says the same thing over and over and over again .. the same old “changing the world “ , “ basic human right” , “build something great” -- same shit with every question asked !! I cannot believe she got away with this for that long !
Right you are! But the popular press and its lazy journalists love this kinds of stuff.
never answers a single question about the technology just skates around them all
Who are these people that find her 'compelling'? She seems tentative, incorrect, and unsure of her basic facts, throwing a few trendy terms around.
She answers the questions so manipulatively making the one infront tangled about what he had actually questioned...great skills👏👏
Every single time the interviewer talks, she nods her head the entire time... it’s kinda creepy
That’s a tactic. To make him believe what she’s saying is correct
Wow you’re right. I noticed it after I read this comment, very creepy indeed. She’s not human
What a good storyteller - if only she would have confined her efforts to the sales sphere and not tried to actually manage anything. She knows exactly how to tell people want they want to hear. She does not know how to deliver the goods nor does she understand the limits of her own competence or knowledge. Also the small matter of honesty.
slovokia very true.
That's what I keep saying. She's an excellent sales person. She really should teach a course on selling products. She played the game well. She forgot one important thing: to actually deliver the damn product.
Lol, yeah
Sunny, her boyfriend was the product guy and #2 at the company. There are no pictures of him on the internet. He knew of the fraud and made sure she was the face of the company. He also ran the company like he had nothing to lose. He sheltered all his millions he made before. But he is pakastani, so he still had to flaunt some wealth and that will get him jail time.
Exactly , a exceptional storyteller , in fairness she must be praised for her ability in that regard plus her courage and her drive. It's a damn pity it didn't work out for her. Reading Bad Blood , she had at least two engineering teams who she overrided there decisions at crucial times , this cost alot of time to be wasted. One engineer wanted to build a prototype at large size to understand the system and then miniaturise a good sound idea , she overrided that decision and wanted to go straight to miniature bypassing all learning tests. Unfortunately she funked her own company through lack of deep knowledge. Pity she nearly made it.
This interview is 100X better now
She speaks mambo jambo. The journalist asks very basic questions. She couldn't answer any of them.
😂😂😂
Every time Elizabeth Holmes says, “in the context of,” an angel gets its wings.
I thought it was when we're supposed to do a shot.
@@bonjovirocks24 Play with a good Scottish Whisky and you can see the angels.
@@oscard2994 It wouldn’t be Christian of me to do it any other way! 🤣🤣
Yuuuuuup!!!!!!
Lmao
She (Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes) deserves to be added in the Guinness Book of record for the biggest startup scam in history!
Former CEO
1:40 you hear her real voice start to come out.. she realizes it and lowers it back down a few seconds later
That's fucking creepy. Good spot. Not sure if I'm seeing something that isn't there, but you can almost see in her eyes and watch as she realises that she has slipped out of the fake deep voice, and then consciously eases back down a few tones. Super weird.
Great example
It's a shame they have only charged her and her boyfriend. All those big names who sat on the board should be charged too. This is especially true of George Shultz, whose grandson Tyler also worked for Theranos. Tyler Shultz tried to blow the whistle to his grandfather. George turned on Tyler (big surprise for a Reagan guy) and became estranged from his grandson in order to keep the fraud going. He should definitely be charged.
Well he has some explaining to do to the big man upstairs now. 🙏
Man, if aliens ever come down to earth to colonize, we should just send her to negotiate. She would totally fucking win
Amazing woman. Imagine sitting in front of the host and the audience irradiating confidence while knowing that there is nothing working behind the scene.
Consummate liar.
Imagine fawning over her in this interview knowing the wall street journal had just exposed her fraudulent company.
The fact that she was able to get this product into the public without regulation over sight and approval shows just how little our government cares for the welfare of it's people when it comes to money.
She was recognized by Obama and Clinton, which is how she bypassed the FDA as long as she did. Scary
You know I never really thought about it like that. But when I consider your logic it seems so true. Take for instance old style radial keratotomy for nearsightedness. This really butchered a lot of people's eyeballs for years and the government didn't do anything. My right eye is all messed up because of it. That procedure should have never been allowed. But you're right the government doesn't care that much.
Maybe the problem is the average person would never think someone would be nuts enough to fake their voice and persona 24/7 so they took her at face value.
Alex Baldwin's wife, Hilary Baldwin, is another good example
She just said that she had 200 tests that could be done for $2.00. So, Elizabeth, it costs you $475,000,000 to develop these tests ( which you did not do either). So, the test are only $2.00 just because you said so? It’s like me buying a Porsche for $200,000 and selling it for a dollar and then saying that I came up with a way to sell high dollar cars for only $1.00
Gibberish. She never answers the questions. Con man. Even the voice is fake. Wow. She made fools of the panting old men who threw money at her.
Yeah i hate her talk and its not because of her personality. Its oversopfiscated word, mumble mumbling, general words bla bla. Just cant stand it
I heard a podcast recently, and they said she strategically mostly approached older men for investing money, who loved the attention from a young blonde woman
Old men like to invest their money on young good looking blonde 👱♀️
@@beautiful20106 Yeah, she Screwed all of them-- But Not the way they were Hoping. Lol Lol
If you don’t want to answer a question, talk about “helping people...” just randomly jump into it
🤣 Right
You basically need some “key” words: vision, helping, innovative…. You’re good to go
It kinda sucks that it was all a huge scam cause she had a really nice vision and her product could have really changed the world in a big way. And now people are gonna be scared to rethink her product because of all the controversy around the subject. So it's just a step back in that direction.
Other companies continue to pursue the same goals. Genalyte, eg, can perform 126 blood tests using one drop.
There was no "product". It was all marketing.
@@ShowsOn That was no my point
She should had gotten an Oscar for her acting skills in this interview but she made mistake Just watch from @24:50 and at 25:00 the Host looks away as he noticed her voice lOl too and is confused.
@@ommorendha6803 yeah its really noticeable especially when she lowers it again
It changes at 2:00
Veziley Kerzoyayev he looks away a lot. It has zero to do with her voice change.
You can also see shortly afterwards how she blinks super often when she talks about the FDA data results.
Omfg if you listen to that clip and then jump back to the beginning it's sooooooOoooOooOooo obvious how fake it it's LMFAO
She’s really convinced about herself. MEGALY convinced!
Its almost like a college drop out who is not building the next Iphone or something tech instead something that all experts say requires education at the highest level to obtain and understand how to actually do it instead of faking it till you make it. risking patients lives doing so.
How crazy to think she lied this whole time and scammed these people
Dodging questions like a politician! LMAO
Very interesting to listen this retrospectively. Looking forward to any federal hearing...
At 24:34 you hear her real voice.
24:00 to the end is her real voice. She escapes her character.
Holy shit!
Right, her voice is fine actually.
So she didnt satisfied and overdo the tone it is just unbelievable
Thank you, I so did not want to listen to her that long until she slipped up 😂
Listening to her real voice actually made me sad for her. Imagine living such a lie?! That’s exhausting, I would imagine. Girl, just be yourself. I love this story because it proves that women are capable of some fucked up shit, and this is coming from a girl.
So, what we can take from this is that Forbes does not real background check on how people get rich and "successful", just need to see a number, and they will elevate them. These kinds of news/media outlets are part of the problem!
I've only recently found out about this case and I've been watching interviews just to try and guess how on earth was it possible for so long and I think this is the dark side of the concept of the american dream, at its worst. I come from Europe and have spent some time in almost every European country, and there is no way this would be possible on this continent. I mean greed, delusions and corruption are present everywhere, but this to go on for 15 years with undisturbed financial success (!), it takes something else/more. She is not a master communicator, her storyline has so many inconsistencies (for example, she says she doesn't see it as a market but reffers to patients as "customers" and talks in terms of xx,99 prices), she is just fairly eloquent. And the interviewers aren't stupid, they ask adequate questions. What is missing is calling out the bs due to the pressure of cultural ideology, amongst other things.
When I heard her say "I'm an engineer" I couldn't believe it, I would have called her out then and there. And the people defending her position on it, really shocking. Imagine a civilized culture where a person with a high school diploma says I can make tests for cancer that you could buy at a superstore for 2.99 and then millions of lay, bussiness and media people give them billions and the superstar status. From an outsider's point of view, there is something deeply, deeply disturbing about that. And the level of magical thinking is no different than in people doing sacrifices to shamans in some tribes expecting them to produce rain.
If nothing, this is a great opportunity for self-reflection which, if done correctly, could benefit the American nation a lot.
This is a high quality comment. Thanks for your input on this.

She sounds like the Billy Bob Thorton character Carl from the movie Sling Blade
Watch her strange constant nodding when the interviewer is talking
natalie1111111able Potter whoaaaaa now that you pointed it out its soooo freaky...
It’s a form of mind control
She sounds like a mimicry or parody of a frat bro.
I think she started off lying and then started believing her own lies
When experts would point out flaws in her ideas, it seems that she had a pattern of just ignoring them, and going find someone else to garner support for her ambition.

I'd love to hear Elizabeth speak Mandarin. She isn't especially articulate in English, and I'm somewhat sceptical she can speak a tonal language.
She says the same story, over and over.
She obviously believes it.
I wonder at what point psychopathy intersects with complete delusion?
Her treatment of naysayers in her firm is appalling. Following up on the suicide of your chief scientist with a threatening letter from lawyers to a widow - I've worked as CFO of a global commodity firm, among other very large corporates, and I've never worked among such a toxic, intimidating culture. Suffice it to say that they were clearly protecting knowledge of what they don't have, and not knowledge of what they do have.
I hope she's jailed. She should be. She oversaw a massive fraud that put people's health at risk.
Since Elizabeth Holmes can consistently fake a baritone voice a couple of octaves lower than her actual voice then she would probably be very good at speaking a tonal language.
She may speak Mandarin but you'll just have to take her word for it because she'll never give you an actual demonstration of her speaking Mandarin.....just explain to you (and potential investors) in English about how she can use her knowledge of Mandarin to _'shift the paradigm in the context of so and so to make learning and speaking Mandarin easy and accessible to everybody at low cost.'_
hmartinspliff he he he! She says this in a LOT of talks/interviews.... like she’s been practising in the mirror for years. I hope she’s jailed too. There’s too many of these psychopaths at the top and this would send out a message to them all.
My wife speaks Mandarin and Cantonese but big fucking deal,,she’s Chinese!!😅
@@hmartinspliff don’t forget “it’s a basic human right to know about your own health!”
I bet Elizabeth fakes her Mandarin too
Why does her hair look a mess all the time?
Symbolic of the mess caused.
She wears it messy like this on purpose in an attempt to appear more hard-working/tired and industrious. It’s all part of her carefully calculated image, used to try and fool the world around her into thinking she is some kind of genius billionaire.
@@clan_fraser19 but all it actually does is add 1 more layer to the mountain of crazy she is
All of this for a company whose tech doesn't even work.
webslinger48 did you really edit your comment so that you look smart? Yikes
Bob Tho , you got em
Why doesn’t she speak in interviews with her normal voice?
The way she describes at length the whole impetus behind her beginning Theranos, as a moral crusade to help her fellow man, is delicious. This, in hindsight, is just such golden unintentional comedy. Has there been this much hypocrisy, this many lies, and this much false virtue signaling packed into 25 minutes before?
Exactly! Did she actually believe her high integrity moral crusade? The whole thing is just so amazingly hypocritical.
i wanna hear her real voice
Good job Matt!
That remanded me of old egyptian movie where everyone talk about a product at the final they discover that there is no product
I'm obsessed with this stolie!!!
I’m impressed with what she was able to do. She deserves a movie
She didn’t do anything!
“In the context of…” is her favorite phrase.
America's richest self-made woman is not even a woman?
Not so rich anymore.
It's horrible the way she puts the blame on people she "invested in" like her lab director and technicians, when she is responsible for Theranos' "reversal of fortune." She told George Shultz (according to Shultz himself) that the Edison was already being used by the military, and for drama, she had a huge American flag just outside her office door. That one lie alone to board members is bad and would have made headlines if exposed at the time. So Holmes sadly took advantage of everyone.
She's putting a lot of effort into talking like a man.
In her best ROMEY AND MICHELLE’s high school reunion voice . Lol
This is funny 😆
it's odd how she nods her head all the time as if she is trying to convince herself that she is telling the truth
It’s almost like an unconscious nervous condition..
She has the psychopath wobble head
Why do all the 3+ year comments have the phrase 'edited' next to them all???
🤔🤔🤔🤔
The difference between her and jobs is that she TRIES to sound smart.
Everything about her turned into a lie, her voice, dress, ideas, product. But in her mind, she is changing the world. She needs more time and money. She ran out of one, and now she is out of the other.
A couple of things: #1 she doesnt seem to have any idea of how to run a diagnostic lab, they neglected basic standard good practices of quality control.
#2 No one seems to know how exactly the technology of her devices actually work because of her secretiveness and she further appears to have ignored regulatory requirements in the diagnostic field.
#3 It's likely that she may have an important new technology but it clearly is not ready, her devices must meet the same regulatory and quality control standards as her competitors otherwise it's just garbage.
Edwin Mintey I guess you were on to something...
nice edit
Shes a fraud, she has no tech, she used commercial machines to run her blood tests
This shit is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Elizabeth & Anna Sorokin should do a collab
I keep thinking of that man hands Seinfeld episode with the lobster
Andrew Lawson bahaha spot on. Just waiting for her to break some tough Russian bread with her hands
This should be a very good lesson for the american public.
Quit believing blabber and start demanding DATA when a person of power is giving a speach.
Story telling has taken american people to te edges of lala land.
Wake up.
How would using smaller blood samples make the test prices go down?
it would lower the cost by bringing down the price of materials since they wouldn't need so much to process the samples
Why camera is shaking?
22:13 he addresses the issue of obsessive secrecy, skeptically. In response, she launches more irrelevancies, excuses, and lies. None of what she promises to do about transparency, FDA submissions or approvals ever happened.
Sadly, he missed an opportunity to grill her about her allegation that industry incumbents were seeding bad news about Theranos.
Just my old-fashioned opinion, but brown shoes should never be worn with a dark blue suit.

Her voice is deeper than a lot of men I know.
I think her dad worked at Enron, she said something about him working at USAid....? I suspect the Enron experience weighed heavily.
She reminds me of the castle ghost chick from the show Reign
I'm sure she was asked to be interviewed by people in the medical community and turned every one of those down. She only took interviews from people with no medical background so she never had to answer a technical question, and could just talk about her grand vision and "empowering the individual"
Exactly. Or only people who will fawn all over her. She’s an egomaniac.

She choose her career wrong. She should be a politician, not a businesswoman. If so, she will become much more successful without being caught.
Lock her up! Lock her up!
Tha art of saying nothing.
That's the problem - she had a vision and built the company BEFORE building the actual solution, and a working solution at that. Sure this works with app/website development but in the medical and playing with peoples lives? Surely this should spur on new, tightened regulations in the medical technology field as the Enron scandal did for auditing.
I do like her vision. It would be great if you could just have easy tests down at the store without having to go through a lab. It's honestly a tragedy she couldn't realistically make it happen. The fraud only came after she realized it truly wasn't possible with today's technology but kept asking for more money and making more deals.
Perception is not reality.
That's crazy! I'm Brian Fellow!
Please take my money! =)
Ok, but there is a 100% chance you know that you will never see it ever again
wow..what deep voice ;-0
This dialogue needs to taught in school curriculums...starting at a very early age...it is a study in evasiveness...the faking it until you make it until you don't...it is interesting for this simple fact. Also I do not like how the interviewer claimed she is fluent in a second language...he like all assumed way way too much.
What the heck is she talking about
