@Livin Vids I dont know who you could possibly mean because he didn't disrupt any corrupt dealings and doubled down on what any other Republican president would have done. If what you wrote can serve as any example it's that Trumps base has lost any ability to question their pied piper...

@Livin Vids , I laughed at how many TDS sufferers tried to somehow connect Trump with Elizabeth Holmes when you just do the timetable involved. This sociopathic woman rose to power during the Obama administration when every fringe group felt embolden to demand special treatment because they were convinced they were being oppressed...and the Fake News media, like Forbes here, promoted her scam in trying to push a Woman Is the BESTEST narrative while ignoring all the obvious red flags. The agenda was more important than the truth.

You have to understand that to a lot of people unfamiliar with how different areas of science and tech works, they see one Steve Jobs and think you can do that anywhere. Holmes was in medical and you can't just drop out of that stuff and learn on your own like you can with programming or the like. It takes years and years. I would argue Elizabeth is very much one of these people herself. Anyone can have a vision, but only so many know what to do with it to make it happen. She was clueless, but she was banking on a fake it till you make it that you just can't do in medical.

Exactly , a exceptional storyteller , in fairness she must be praised for her ability in that regard plus her courage and her drive. It's a damn pity it didn't work out for her. Reading Bad Blood , she had at least two engineering teams who she overrided there decisions at crucial times , this cost alot of time to be wasted. One engineer wanted to build a prototype at large size to understand the system and then miniaturise a good sound idea , she overrided that decision and wanted to go straight to miniature bypassing all learning tests. Unfortunately she funked her own company through lack of deep knowledge. Pity she nearly made it.

I've only recently found out about this case and I've been watching interviews just to try and guess how on earth was it possible for so long and I think this is the dark side of the concept of the american dream, at its worst. I come from Europe and have spent some time in almost every European country, and there is no way this would be possible on this continent. I mean greed, delusions and corruption are present everywhere, but this to go on for 15 years with undisturbed financial success (!), it takes something else/more. She is not a master communicator, her storyline has so many inconsistencies (for example, she says she doesn't see it as a market but reffers to patients as "customers" and talks in terms of xx,99 prices), she is just fairly eloquent. And the interviewers aren't stupid, they ask adequate questions. What is missing is calling out the bs due to the pressure of cultural ideology, amongst other things.
When I heard her say "I'm an engineer" I couldn't believe it, I would have called her out then and there. And the people defending her position on it, really shocking. Imagine a civilized culture where a person with a high school diploma says I can make tests for cancer that you could buy at a superstore for 2.99 and then millions of lay, bussiness and media people give them billions and the superstar status. From an outsider's point of view, there is something deeply, deeply disturbing about that. And the level of magical thinking is no different than in people doing sacrifices to shamans in some tribes expecting them to produce rain.
If nothing, this is a great opportunity for self-reflection which, if done correctly, could benefit the American nation a lot.

I'd love to hear Elizabeth speak Mandarin. She isn't especially articulate in English, and I'm somewhat sceptical she can speak a tonal language.
She says the same story, over and over.
    She obviously believes it.
I wonder at what point psychopathy intersects with complete delusion?
Her treatment of naysayers in her firm is appalling. Following up on the suicide of your chief scientist with a threatening letter from lawyers to a widow - I've worked as CFO of a global commodity firm, among other very large corporates, and I've never worked among such a toxic, intimidating culture. Suffice it to say that they were clearly protecting knowledge of what they don't have, and not knowledge of what they do have.
I hope she's jailed. She should be. She oversaw a massive fraud that put people's health at risk.

Since Elizabeth Holmes can consistently fake a baritone voice a couple of octaves lower than her actual voice then she would probably be very good at speaking a tonal language.
She may speak Mandarin but you'll just have to take her word for it because she'll never give you an actual demonstration of her speaking Mandarin.....just explain to you (and potential investors) in English about how she can use her knowledge of Mandarin to _'shift the paradigm in the context of so and so to make learning and speaking Mandarin easy and accessible to everybody at low cost.'_

It's horrible the way she puts the blame on people she "invested in" like her lab director and technicians, when she is responsible for Theranos' "reversal of fortune." She told George Shultz (according to Shultz himself) that the Edison was already being used by the military, and for drama, she had a huge American flag just outside her office door. That one lie alone to board members is bad and would have made headlines if exposed at the time. So Holmes sadly took advantage of everyone.

#2 No one seems to know how exactly the technology of her devices actually work because of her secretiveness and she further appears to have ignored regulatory requirements in the diagnostic field.
#3 It's likely that she may have an important new technology but it clearly is not ready, her devices must meet the same regulatory and quality control standards as her competitors otherwise it's just garbage.
