    Thanks for this review. One seller by me has priced it at $54 USD and I was considering it but now after this review no way. I'm not going to pay $54 USD plus tax for a Whiskey that is great for cocktails. For $5 more there is a Glen Grant 15 year available at that same store.

    Yes 100% malted barley and virgin oak. I think main difference between this one and the other single malt they now produce is single cask. I like how the Westward has character of bourbon but a lot more delicate and a fair amount of development in the glass.

    I would assume by using the word Straight the distiller would have to follow the Straight Whiskey laws. But you can usually find a loophole in a American whiskey laws.

      eric gilbert is barley considered a "cereal grain" and is that the bit your referring to which may not be aligned with the Straight Whiskey law?

      Barley is a cereal grain. With Straight Whiskey, a mash of no less of 51% of one grain is usually fermented two lesser in percentage grains. Just always thought Straight Whiskey was a mix grain mash.
