    Window Motor and Regulator Installation
    This process is simple and easy and should only take 30-45 minutes after you watch this video. If you have any question please ask me in the comments section below.
    I used the information provided to me by www.clubfrontier.org . If you own a Nissan Frontier or even an Exterra, I would suggest utilizing this site to help you work on your vehicle. A special thanks goes out to CD85233 for the How To PDF and photos. Club Frontier is AWSOME!
    My broken window motor and regulator would get stuck at the bottom of the transition and I would have to force the window up with my hand before this. Now it functions like new.

    Wow! Thank you for this video!!! I'm a single mother and my driver door power window went out a few months ago after a quote of $600 from the dealership and many other quotes for hundreds I knew I had to save up...Well a few days ago I had to renew my tags and get a smog not remembering to mention my broken window the smog guy rolled it all the way down and it was completely stuck.. of course he was like sucks to be you I wanted to cry I already spent hundreds for my tags....
    That's when I realized I have to fix this.. I found your video and your video was so comprehensive and straight to the point you gave me the confidence to do it myself I got everything ready like you said and no surprises came up because you already trouble shooted everything...
    I am forever greatful that you gave this single mom the confidence. I fixed my window myself!!! Thank you!!! I got the part in Stock at Auto zone 97 bucks motor®ulator

    Just finished mine, thank you. This video was perfect. If anyone orders the motor/regulator from Amazon and the motor holes don't line up right, use two bolts and a zip tie on the third. Someone on Amazon suggested that and it worked perfectly for me.

    I Just did this job using this video as a guide and it went perfectly with no problems.
    The regulator available on Amazon for $40 - $50 is a perfect fit and works just as well as an OEM part, so save your money and go there.
    I used Gorilla tape to hold the window in place. I used one long piece vertically on the center of the window and over the top of the door, leaving enough on the end to grab and pull off easily. When I needed to close the window I could just pull the tape off the top of the door and use it to pull the window up and then secure it again.
    One suggestion: The video shows using a screwdriver and plastic scraper to get the trim off. For $20 at AutoZone I got a set of trim tools, which made getting the trim off without damage incredibly easy.

    Many thanks for preparing this video - It worked wonderfully. The only issue I had was having to bend one of the locating pins on the motor which may have been an Auto Parts Warehouse OEM oversight. For shoring up the window I used 8" builders shims which are readily available. I found that by taping four shims together and placing one bundle on each side of the window I was able to easily secure the window in the both the lower position to remove the window mounting screws, as well as firmly holding the window in the upright (closed) position. My original motor was burnt out and did not allow any upward or downward movement. Many thanks again.

    If you have a pathfinder make sure the motor you purchase has a 6 pin connector, the 2 pin will not work, ran into this 2 days ago when I bought the window and regulator with the 2 pin connector and my 05 pathfinder has a 6 pin.The model that I installed after returning the 2 pin was a Dorman 742-529, it was the motor only so you have to mount it on the regulator but it's easy(only 3 bolts). Works fine, easy to change. It sucks I couldn't find a entire assembly but if your motor dies and your regulator is fine, the Dorman 742-529 is a direct replacement. Reassembling takes 15-20 minutes

    I had the driver door window issue on my 2006 Nissan Frontier Nismo and bought the kit you suggested. Everything went fine until the function test. The motor sent the regulator down but would not raise it. So it just remained locked int the down position. I took it out and reinstalled the original unit and it worked!!! Weird! So then I put the whole door back together and while testing the window it worked but not at full speed and then my truck battery died! The battery was 10 years old so I went and got a new battery and now the window with the original motor/regulator works like new! I now wonder if my low battery condition was the cause of the problem all along. I like your video it helped a lot. I used a folded piece of garden hose to wedge the window in the up position, a lot easier than the painters tape. Thanks a bunch for your video!

      Well, I'm rather a different type of driver. I got the 2006 Frontier/Nismo in 2007 with 16K on it from my son who couldn't afford the payments. In 2010, I replaced the battery while on vacation. Today my milage is 35,600, mainly because I'm an avid cyclisit and seldom use the truck. So, in the past 10 years I'v only racked up 19,600 miles, or less than 2,000 a month, so the battery didn't get a lot of use.

      Try messing with the connection to the wiring harness. It should at least be making a noise like it's trying to move the window. If that noise is present then with the door panel off, have someone actuate the motor while you are pushing down on the window with both hands.
      If there is no noise, you might be able to force it down. good luck

    Any bypass if the switch does not work to get drivers window up?

    • @ProfessionalPepper
      @ProfessionalPepper  Před 7 lety

      I do not know of any, but if you apply direct pressure to the window by pulling or pushing up on the window from both sides the motor might be able to get it up with the help. Im not sure of any other way. Please post a comment on here as there are others that have the same issue. Thanks.

      The window would get stuck halfway while trying to go up. It would go down just fine, but I would have to pull up on it while holding the up on the switch to get it to go back up.

      Try to push downward with both hands flat on the glass and have someone press the down on the switch. If not you may have to follow the video steps, unbolt the track and start wiggling things to free it up. spray lube on the motor and tracks.

    I been looking for a rear left regulator for 2010 Nissan Pathfinder online but it only show front driver side and front passenger side. So my question is... Is the front driver regulator the same as the rear left regulator?

    • @ProfessionalPepper
      @ProfessionalPepper  Před 6 lety

      Cali state-of-mind My guess is that it's the same as the drivers side. Try to find a parts manual. If they are the same part then your good to go.

    I am not sure what was wrong with your window? I have a 2007 Frontier. The commutator of the window motor was covered with brush dust particles. I clean it with a pocket knife to insure electrical separation. It worked like it should for 1.5 year. Now it is stuck in the down position. Need to take it apart again.

    • @ProfessionalPepper
      @ProfessionalPepper  Před 5 lety

      It just wears out due to the plastic components, corrosion, and motor it uses. A quick swap for cheap and it works like new.

    I ordered motor only. Is it necessary to replace both regulator and motor at same time?

    • @ProfessionalPepper
      @ProfessionalPepper  Před 4 lety +1

      I did, because they work in conjunction with eachother ant the regulator wears out and should probably be replaced. If you are strapped for cash then just try to replace one, but if you dont have much time available or you want to not risk having to take everything apart again, replace both at the same time.
      The parts come assembled together when you buy them both, which is how the dealerships do it.
      Write back if just replacing the motor worked.

      they come together in one unit. I have not found them for separate purchase. They both wear out and need to be replaced. When I inspected them both pieces had significant wear and corrosion from use and weather. Trust me get both.

    How do you determine whether the problem is the motor, switch or regulator?

    • @ProfessionalPepper
      @ProfessionalPepper  Před 7 lety +1

      John Arizona Welp its easy to just replace the whole kit minus the switch. If you try to replace just one thing the otherwill eventually fail, making you reopen your door up.
      However, if you must. The switch w supplys power to the motor. So if their is no noise when you push the switch it means it might be the switch, failed connections, or wires. If it's getting stuck or struggling to go up or down then it's the motor or regulator. You would have to take it apart, inspect it, clean it, lube it, reinstall it, and test it to see if it aleviated the problem. It's just best to replace both. I have a link in the video description to the part on amazon that hundreds of people have used to fix the problem. Let me know how it goes.

      BUT, ensure you have the correct motor connector; mine (driver side) has a 6-pin configuration; most R/R I've seen never mention which connector, 6-pin or 2-pin. Luckily I found Amazon carries ALL RIGHT side/PASSENGER 2-pins; EBay seems to carry nothing BUT Driver side 6-pin, motor, or motor and regulator. Just the motor is an easy R&R, 3 screws; while apart it is a good time to give the regulator a look over, and cleaning.
