09:22 You can see how in the first 9 rounds, the grenades have only one powder bag, the 10th has 2, obviously someone made a mistake and the chief ( the guy in the rigth) wanted to prevent it from being loaded, but they did not give him time, that round went further than previous.
*gunner. And yeah if the AB did his job that wouldn’t be a issue. It is really surprising the ag didn’t catch it but whatever probably not mortap certified.
Each prop charge (horse clip on, white color on US cartridges) adds more range to cartridge. The US version (has one gray plastic ring at bourrlet diameter) is more a aerodynamic version and with max 4 prop charges has a range of 14,000 meters. The French cartridge (with red band on it) is a Korean and Vietnam era design. I was part of the US team to modernize the US version to replace the old 4.2 inch cartridge design similar to what the French are using now.

Watch at 9:22 the loader comfortably got in a rhythm of loading and firing, who ever is handing him the mortar shells made a mistake of including 2 white propellants (clearly visible) instead of the usual 1 white propellant they’ve been using to fire all along. The Loader didn’t bother to check and just load it at the mortar muzzle and right when he dropped it down the tube the guy calling the shots noticed it and attempted to stop him but it was too late, round already dropped and fired. Then the sound of the video was muted as he probably chewed the loaders ass for not verifying before loading the shell then sound was made audible again. Mistakes like that getting in a habit of rhythm and forgetting verification control in place to avoid such occurrences made that round land farther than intended because of the extra propellant. -13B US Army

That French 120mm rifled round is extremely effective. Highly mobile long range and accurate. Watch out.

There is a pin at the bottom of the tube that sets the explosive propellant charge of. This can be covered by a safety plate and then the round will not get ignited.
This operates differently. It uses a lanyard like a howitzer.

I was trained to be a mortar man (with the 120mm mortars) in the Finnish defense forces. It would actually be interesting for me to see how fast other countries' mortar men make their setup on a location and how fast they disengage, switch locations and so on, i think we fast as hell. You dont just drop a mortar and start shooting, not sure what the terms for it in English are, but it needs to be... like calibrated on spot each time you do the setup so that it actually fires accurately
in the field artillery, and in the case for the marine corps towed mortar system which is considered a field artillery piece, it is referred to as "laying the tube" or "laying the gun". I am a cannoneer and i shoot the M777A2
We call it hip shooting, it’s actually not that long of a process, from the time we dismount the vehicle to the time the gun is up and ready to shoot takes about 2 minutes, obviously laying it in and getting the azimuth to shoot takes a little longer but 3 minutes tops to be up and ready to shoot
when I was in the Dutch army in 1982, my platoon record was 2 min 45 sec from entering the location until ready for rapid fire. These were 3 120mm heavy mortars towed by ypr-765 armoured vehicles. Fire-control was already installed after reconnaissance.
Had a lot of experience wit 4.2 and 81mm mortars in the 1960s.
These aerodynamic. Cartridge designs and electronic fuzes replaced all U.S. previous designs. In the 90s.

You are talking shit. They were going for speed and the loader simply lost concentration on the last round. This is why they need to train constantly to stay sharp as this is manual and as you become tired, the probability of error increases, especially if you are going for speed. This is actually pretty good rate of fire and this simulate a war situation better than some guy lazily and leisurely putting one every minute.

My unit first tested these Morters with the israeli army back in 1983 we had to hump these parts separate from the trailer to see mobility in a wide rand of conditions it was very intense training.. Wpns co 3/4 USMC
Never realized that Weapons got 120 MMs at one point, I was the last class within the USMC's Artillery component to learn how to operate them alongside the M777A2. Amazing time using them, super simple to set up and displace. Too bad I didn't get to use them more in the fleet, Easy Battery 2/11 USMC

Занятное видео. А как реализована, на данных миномётах, защита от двойного заряжания? Единственное в первой части этого видео заметил, что при опускании мины в верхней части орудия остаётся лиловый индикатор .
Хороший Человек насколько, я понял этот миномет имеет 2 режима ведения огня. 1) Автоматический, когда снаряд опускается на трубки (ствола) и происходит надкалывание, что приводит к автоматическому огню. (В нем вроде бы задействован система, которая определяет есть ли снаряд в стволе или нет, если есть -то подсвечивается индикатор, но я не уверен) 2) Контролируемый, когда выстрел производится путем нажатия (или запуска) механизма запуска у основания трубки. (Там точно есть защита от двойного заряжания)

В последнем снаряде больше заряда было, но был поздняк, потому что без команды закинул, потом оба начали на подающих наезжать, типа, что за хрень? Короче, вояки ещё те)))
Я тоже по привычки заряды считаю, но, в общем, нормальная ситуация. Заряжающий притомился уже к последним выстрелам.
Is standing on the base plate when firing a official thing or a right of passage type thing?
Not sure, and I was having same question. My mortar experience predates the 120mm, and I never saw this with the 60mm or 81mm. Knowing a little about doctrine, doubt it’s in the manual. Knowing a lot about Soldiers, it’s likely a rite of passage. From what I could tell they only did it on the first round as it set the baseplate. Looks like about a 6” drop, and a lot of fun.

Gamal Orhan Вы артиллерист?если да,то должны знать,что после первого выстрела плита заходит в землю конкретно,даже в горах.Однажды даже УРАЛом вытаскивать приходилось.Шевеления там минимальные,но все же они есть,поэтому на плиту вставать категорически нельзя.Пузырек на миллиметр уйдёт в сторону и мина летящая за 5 км в итоге уйдёт на несколько метров в сторону.

@@vladimirfilippov6553 ну речь естественно про 120 и идет, как на видео,представлен тот же калибр. Одна из причин по которой 82 при выстреле падает-это не окопаная плита,либо она лежит параллельно земле и у нее нет угла. Если возможности окопать плиты нет, то при первом выстреле два номера расчета должны придержать лафет руками. После первого выстрела плита встанет как надо и прыжков не будет.

Очень умная идея закидывать снаряд с табуретки. Забыли или сломали табуретку и уже не постреляешь. Еще если она обледенеет немного то вообще весело будет.
Ещё хотелось бы увидеть как сия бандура разряжается при осечке и как реализована защита от двойного заряжания. На учениях неспеша и без нервов двойное заряжание редко (но бывает), а вот в боевой обстановке - совсем другое дело и там дохрена случаев двойного заряжания.
А вот мешочки с порохом во влагостойкой и быстросъемной упаковке - однозначно плюсик. Это не веревочки завязывать.
Ящик из-под мин под ноги кинул и все дела. А обледенеть может и земля вокруг миномета.
вы главного не увидели у них разнообразие зарядов там и мины и снаряды и высокоточка радиоуправляемая и все это из 1 миномета,а у рассеи 1 мина образца 1943 года и все,остальные заряды только прототипы массово в войска не пошли,вот в этом то и разница

так в гугле у путина и супер ракеты есть и еще хз что правда все на картинках,найди мне ими стрельбу и потом говори,ты ж спец по гуглу думаю сможешь разобраться какую мину заряжают,а то я вижу у тя интеллект то же очень высокий-В настоящий момент состоящие на вооружении в России миномёты не уступают по своим характеристикам зарубежным моделям. В тоже время, наблюдается отставание в плане создания высокоэффективных управляемых миномётных выстрелов.
Всё созданные в нашей стране боеприпасы такого типа имеют полуактивную лазерную ГСН, предполагающую подсветку цели. В условиях полномасштабных боевых действий, при высокой задымленности и запылённости поля боя, такой возможности нет. В тоже время за рубежом активно создаются самоприцеливающиеся мины с инфракрасной или радиолокационной ГСН, а также корректируемые с наведением, по сигналам, получаемым от спутниковой навигационной системы. не благодари за то что просветил.
Я в армии был командиром расчёта 120мм миномёта, только у наших колёсный ход отстёгивался и миномёт опирался на двуногу лафет, мина весила 15,9 кг. Стреляет очень громко, раз не отвернулся, оглох на три дня.
