Actually in singing you can't ignore copying because of the same technique, same genre and same style. Some singers "copy" legends because they CAN. Musicianship is a long discussion. If I want musicianship, some OPM legends has it. KZ has it also but Julie is an amazing singer as well. 👏
They say she's underrated because she is a "silent" performer. She just gives her best whenever she performs. Receiving awards year after year from legit music award giving bodies just prove that she is not underrated . Maybe the meaning of underrated to some is not being given enough publicity. She has no " Drumbeaters". Her being a great and amazing singer performer is doing everything for her. I know her staying power in the business will last " a thousand " years.

And everytime she sings na may kasama she has this attitude na di nya kailangan bumirit para mapansin. She's just amazing especially sa blending.

I might say she's Good but she's not that of a risk taker to challenge her self to try bigger notes. I just seem to notice in her performances that she likes to play safe.
She’s consistent. The only thing holding her back is she can’t hit nor sustain the high notes that other bititeras can hit. You know in the Philippines, STILL, the basis of being a great singer is being to hit high notes. And that’s not going to change in the near future i guess. Sad but ture
I remember this segment in GMA. This was in a show called Party Pilipinas which was ASAP's counterpart in GMA. This particular segment is called Vox. The concept of Vox is like belting show-off where GMA's biriteras (literally belters) would cover songs and sing them higher (or add upper belts or extreme riffs).
