Not a fan of motocross but seein the erode physics makes me wish, those were used in other Racing Games aswell like Dirt or WRC. That would be amazing.
Dirt rally 2.0 does have track degradation. WRC i havent noticed it

snowrunner physics would be great
Two things I believe would improve erode. 1. Have the ability to assign different values to different parts of the track (ie. deep in corners, lighter on straights/different values for different soils) 2. higher res/smoothness of the deformation itself to avoid the jagged edges from forming. Not sure how hard that is to program, but if possible it could be a game changer.
EDIT: Also, I think there needs to be some type of dirt accumulation or pushing effect so that ruts form correctly instead of looking like a knife through butter.
You can assign different values to each section, the games traction uses a couple different ones such as soil, soft soil, compact soil, sand, grass. Like how a Supercross track has a sand section they deform differently. the only thing is that you have to manually assign each one with a mask so most track creators don’t bother as it’s very time consuming. I would personally love to see it more though
@@williamsnow417 Question is, could you assign different values to the same soil? That way traction is the same but one section could be deeper than another. Almost like they tilled it "here" but left it packed "there".
@@williamsnow417 Can you assign different materials to the different amounts of erode (like the different textures that appear as you go through the surface)? It seemed like all the loose stuff that was left laying around at the end of the 50 laps was as hard as the freshly worked original track surface. Deforming differently by depth AND by the surface type mask would be awesome.
@@dsi24 not sure about that. Sadly textures have nothing to do with traction it’s the material layer under it(that’s the system piboso uses)
@@opSila. probably down the road I’m assuming but with the engine that piboso uses( OpenGL) dirt isn’t soft like say the Supercross games where the “rut” can get blown out. Same with mx simulator the ground is just a no movement solid and erode just takes away dirt instead of moving it like real life

You should do erode on a enduro map of your liking
This seems just like the tracks around here in Manitoba Canada u get pretty comfy with holding someone else line and praying you don't stay in it cause they get up over a foot deep where the rut is bottoming out the forks on the wheel
wish there was a patch of dirt they could put in that would deform close to this by default. Like putting it into corners or some jumps... that would be so much more fun

Man, if piboso could polish the deformation up just a little bit then it would be on point. If you want more high erode ideas then you just run max erode on the js7 compound for awhile. I joined an online race a couple months ago and that track broke down further than any other I’ve seen so far. Pretty much unrideable😂

This is like MvA Reflex's deformation. After a few laps the track is just an unrideable disaster.
If they would have just kept the design path of reflex, it would be a top notch series to keep playing.
I love how this game physics is like nah dirt bikes can’t drive over moved dirt. Needs to be as solid as pavement to be able to be raced on.

with max erode giving such choppy ruts, should try to do 100 laps on 10 erode. if mx bikes works like mxs did back in the day, im positive the ruts will be as extreme but still rideable with speed/flow

Have to say this is absolutely untrue.
Deep sand ruts in real life feels mushy, almost like the wheels slips from side to side between ruts. Mainly they’re soft and deform easily.
The ruts in game are unfortunately & unrealistictly hard as concrete, making riding extremely unpredictable & bouncy all over the place.
@@SVANLINDANTON are you trying to tell me my own experience is wrong. Its a game trying to replicate something with a basics physics engine. Its close enough
@@therealslimsmitty8370 Not necessarliy, I’m saying that the feeling and handling in the ruts in game is not alike deep sand ruts in real life.
I ride a deep sand track called Flottuvan, I also have experience with deep sand and to my experience it does not feel equal to the choppy and harsh way the ruts in game feel at all.
Would you agree that a smoother feeling with the ruts in game would be better than what there is now? With this I mean rideable ruts that you can go into and follow just like in real life.

Not worth, maybe erode on 2 or 3 rather than 20 if you just want to speed up the process in testing

How do I reset the erosion on my tracks? I have 3 tracks now with ~5 laps completely destroying them lol. I removed the multiplier but want to reset the deformation/erosion data completely and don't know how.

Nevermind I found it. Go to "Event Info" in testing and there is a reset track button. Wish I knew this a long time ago lol
