Exactly! No glitter paint no 400 hp motors no stickers, no fancy needless crap. This is a modern yet common sense piece of serious fishing equipment. I cannot afford one but I enjoy this video so much because this is a fishermans dream. Man I wish I had one.

Who ever said you need a big boat to sport fish. I have a 16f boat with a 40hp 2 stroke 2 cil Mercury and is the best boat to fish with. Eady to keep, the motor is is always ready to go, it does 54 mph, gets me there and it brings me back, good on gas etc etc.

I fish on the Fraser River in Canada and it has a strong flow. I have an anchor system that can be released quickly in case some log or tree snags my anchor line.
Down under aluminum boat makers are light year ahead of north America's.

I acknowledge this is an old response, but I have been looking for a boat recently. I do agree that American boat designs have not changed much except for the "bling".

I am impressed. It's not a beautiful graceful looking boat but the functionality astounding. It must be designed by a real dedicated fisherman. Can you buy these in the States yet?

Love the boat.etecs are all those good things you mentioned but are still louder then a 4 stroke and have a slight 2stroke smell when running.very economical still..
yeah I'd say still a little louder than 4 stroke, but no fuel smell. E-tecs are the cleanest burning outboards in the world the new ones have 75% less emissions than 4 strokes.
No they don't smell, I piloted twin fitch 175's on a 24' hydra sport, they kicked ass and didn't smell at their age.

That's a challenge I'd like you accept! 10k or a bit under for a good small boat, like you'd ever do that.....well there's a challenge for you, back to real basic fishing. I reckon you could do it!

What if you put an extra deep cup holder hole on the opposite side of the driver seat maybe three or four of them up and down the left side of the boat you can slide a pipe down in the cup holder hole and mount a folding seat something you can develop maybe a carbon fiber pipe with a pressure clamp holding a folding padded seat. Thank you I think it's a brilliant design and a brilliant idea what do you think mate

Great no-nonsense review. This unit looks perfect for Florida inter-coastal, not sure about the draft for the flats in some of the channels. Gotta go check out their site:)
Gregor Miller it's a double arrow pontoon I'm guessing the draft is probably around 10 in maybe at the most I have a 1650 Fisher stabi craft I bought this last year I live in Michigan and I have quite a very shallow draft

Two things, is it a dry ride and why not put trim tabs and a jack plate that lifts the motor vertically up and down? Three things.

How do you get one or were do you get one
Hey Matt, if the transom is very buoyant then why have you got the giant hydrofoil on the outboard? I only ever used them for boats that needed help lifting their arse out of the water at low speeds. My current boat needed it with the old 2 stroke motor but not with the new 4 stroke and removing it has made the boat ride much more smoothly. I have found the hydrofoil makes the boat almost start to act skittish.

Kirk Downes He said it makes the trim react better but with so much buoyancy in the back it wouldn't make any difference to the trim reaction, so my question still is valid I probably just didn't ask it right.
All those hydrofoils are good for is providing lift at low speeds for boats which are heavy in the arse at and that boat doesn't act like that, if anything it will make the hull skittish at speed - especially an aluminum boat. So all the benefits of it are gone and now he has to deal with the drawbacks.
I'd be interested to see how much better the boat handles without it.
Every hull performs differently. Matt says it gives him lower planing speed and better trim control. What we know is a boat that has bow lift takes longer to plane so if the hydrofoil lifts the back and lowers the bow then the boat is going to get on the plane faster, which in most cases is a positive.
Daniel Phillips That would be even less reason to get one as Matt does a shitload of trolling and it would make the boat a pig at trolling speed, especially a tinnie since it is lighter and will try get up even sooner. You don't want a boat trying to get onto the plane at 6 knots when trolling as it's horribly uneconimical.
I had that exact issue with my old motor with the hydrofoil, took it off and now it trolls lures beautifully. Plus with a 2 stroke it will push the boat onto the plane quickly. I will not be surprised to see it removed, I hate being critical but for the kind of fishing Matt does they're absolutely terrible.
I beg to differ. Trolling off the plane is horribly inefficient. Planing is more efficient period! Matt has lived most of his life on the water as a boatman and a fisherman. That would suggest he knows exactly what he wants and how it wants it.

Why are people complaining about the price if you want cheap crap go to trade me this things built to be as close to perfect as can be but this boat will out live you its a investment for the ultra long term

Loving your channel Matt. Just returned from Alaska and caught a 110 lb Halibut. Had to harpoon it and of course it went nuts! Hoping to purchase one of these boats for use on the Columbia river in Oregon and offshore at Pacific City. It is hard to get a Stabicraft in the NW but we do have a local dealer and I am going to order one. I figure a 1550 Profish with 70 yamaha will be perfect. Thank you Matt!!

FYI, this exact spec and all the extras, is still less money than the majority of new bass boats. Average price for a mid-range bass boat is 65k rigged and taxed.
It also drafts less water, needs less power (cheaper motor+less fuel=$$ saved), and is immeasurably more versatile.
Also your in a nearly bulletproof and quite unsinkable aluminum tub. So it's reasonably safe to make questionable trips in unfavorable conditions.
If you know were these boat are built for ... their built for big seas and these boat is more versatile then anything I've seen state side
