I adore Jennifer Lawrence, ever since watching her interviews on youtube. She is so down to earth and quite funny. I love watching her interviews, they are hysterical! She has no filter and is brutally honest, which can make for great, extremely amusing answers!
To those that didn't find this video funny: I think the reason it's funny is because of how natural it is. Comedians are hilarious, that's their jobs, they work to make jokes, and it's effective. There's also a very large appeal to those who are able to be naturally funny. None of what she says feels forced. The fact that she manages to stay so relaxed and manages to stay completely herself throughout the whole interview is just something funny to so many people. In the end, comedy is largely opinion based. Some people love physical humor and others hate it. Whether or not people found this funny is up to their mental interpretation of humor.
Yeah, I find this funny. Quite a few actors/actresses are pompous, and some are- dare I say- extremely narcissistic, some, I believe, are even legitimate sociopaths. It's always a huge breath of fresh air when you see someone in the entertainment limelight who is, for the lack of a better word, real. I truly hope that she never loses her way. I believe the hype now, she rocks.
Lucid Reality I think it's hilarious that people are calling her "fake" because she's down-to-Earth. It''s like they can't handle the idea that someone so high up in Hollywood can act like a geeky, normal person. I think it's refreshing. She's a rare actress that I'm okay with shooting to fame. If Hollywood had more actors like her I might pay more attention. I think that a lot of television actors seem much nicer though. They're a lot humbler in the majority and appreciate their audience. This actress I follow with half a million followers on twitter who has talked to me a tonne of times. It's not even like I comment on a lot of her stuff or follow her obsessively. I've talked to her about hackers, my dog dying and other random things. On facebook I made a really short comment saying on a post about her going to talk at her old school and she replied with a mile long paragraph telling me to follow my dreams and not give up hope. I was flabbergasted. Another actress I follow did a series of videos that were deeply personal answering teenager's questions about challenging issues they were facing in relation to her own problems at school. Notably she said, "don't stop being the smart girl for anyone, ever." Then in Hollywood you get actors who wear $50 000 dresses, have had twenty plastic surgery operations and can do whatever they like. And a lot of them aren't even talented. They either had connections their whole life, or just got very lucky. It irritates me no end.
I think all the people who are making negative remarks about her character, saying she's "trying too hard" or is fake, are probably the kind of people who come off really arrogant and are oblivious to how many people are actually annoyed by them and are actually rolling their eyes behind their back, as opposed to thinking they come off witty/clever/charming/knowledgeable, etc. Trust me people...more people would rather be around someone like Jennifer Lawrence than someone like you...but like a lot of you state, that's just MY opinion =p
Most "smart" people have a lower social IQ and thus come of as annoying to those who are a bit below average in the more logical department. It's actually really hard not to seem arrogant if the knowledge gap is big enough, and often, when you try to make up for it, you just makes it worse. We know about it, but it's hard to remember it at all times. Btw, I love Jennifer, don't misunderstand me.
