- This video covers the upgrades the cb400sf had over the years, from upgrading to the VTEC system, making modifications due to emissions regulations and improving the motorcycles handling.
A bike with a rich history and a big fan base, it deserves all the praise it gets, even in American shores, where it never got sold.
If you a bike you'd like me to cover, let me know, I am all for suggestions. This video was created due to a comment suggestion. I really enjoy making these bike reviews, I learn deeper about bikes I knew little about, so it's really fun for me.

In the mid/late 90's there used to be a guy around Austin, TX that was known as the "Lime Creek Looney" he rode a CB400sf and could absolutely walk away from any rider on any bike on a tight, twisty road. Many liter bikes got wadded trying to catch up to him on Lime Creek Road. Great video and thanks for the memories!
Thanks man!! That guy sounds like a cool dude! Thanks for watching the video!!
Oh he was. Big white beard out of the helmet, noone actually knew him, most interaction I ever had with him was a friendly nod after he let me follow him for a few corners right before he decided to go back to his pace.
I love my 1992 CB400 still runs like a charm and I use it daily
that's awesome you're keeping it going!!
I am lucky enough to own a red, white and blue 2008 CB400SF. They aren't that rare here in Australia. The sound when you hit 7k RPM and VTEC kicks in is second to none. It's like a little F1 car and it's the last motorcycle I will ever need. The only negative I can think of is that highway wind kicks up in the chest a bit - but with the right posture and some good earplugs it is pretty manageable.
I daily my 2010 cb400. Im in Brisbane. I find the front cowl fairing does help alot with highway riding. It also helps with fuel consumption. Believe it or not, I managed to get 400km to a tank with less than a litre left in the tank. Thats all highway riding though.
I got one as my first bike, its easy enough to ride and sounds fantastic. Solved the spring issue with heavier spring rate aftermarket springs for the fork and shocks.
nice! yeah changing to aftermarket springs can make a big difference!! thanks for sharing :)
thanks for all the infos!
you bet!! Thanks for watching my video!! :)
I still have my 1993 cb400 until now it run in perfect condition easy to maintain and very reliable bike and aside of that easy to get the parts. Very comportable to ride.
For me personally, I love the bike just as it is, it's classic, light, smooth and good looking bike.. it's enough for me.
I can respect that :) it's a great overall bike.
Loved this, really enjoyed the history along with with facts and musings! As a first time watcher this is super refreshing to see in this space. Keep it up! Oh, and i'd love to see something like this on the hornet 250, there isn't much coverage of that bike online and it could segway into the cb600f/cb900f, even into the newer ones (if needs must hahah) Rock on! 😁
I'm glad you liked it, I'll be back to doing bike reviews like this soon. I really appreciate your comment and suggestion :) thanks for checking out the video :)
Dig that poster behind you of the CZ Twin-pipe!
thanks man, my dad got that towel back in the day in Europe :)
It's one of the bikes I would most like to own when I have enough money for it and find an importer capable of importing one into my country. But still I would love if you could make a video comparing the objectives this bike against the 600cc honda hornet because I think that may be some stiff competition for this bike.
Imho 1999 cb is the bestest of them all. Not that because i owe one, but becaue best things is put into that machine, like cbr900 rr forks , and brakes, and it looks sexy in silver with blue stripe livery, and did i mention the sound of vtec kick in? Anyway , its THE king and I kick seriuos ass at London streets on it.
Best of the older styles. However I wonder how the Honda 250 Rebel from 2000s would compare or the newer HD 500 would also be as slick as the Honda 400?
I will say I am not fan of the hd streets, 500 or 750. I don't like how they ride but that comparison is a thought to ponder on. The cb400 is a nice bike though for sure!!
V.T.E.C..................... I think you mean VTEC!! blasphemy!!!
v.t.e.c?😢
VEE-TEK!
Valves😢
so where are the PROs? 1 being the absolute screaming machine!
Untrue. A lot of americans don't even know what the CB400SF is.
