- In this video we will see how to make vazhakkai kulambu recipe in tamil. This vazhakkai recipe is very easy to make and this kulambu can be served over hot rice. Raw banana has a good taste and texture and in this kara kuzhambu the banana pieces are well soaked and absorb the flavor of the kulambu.

Ingredients:
2 Raw Banana
1/4 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Chili powder
salt as required
2 tbsp Oil
For Kulambu base:
1 tsp oil
1 Onion
1/4 inch Ginger
4 Garlic pods
2 Tomatoes
For Grinding:
3 tbsp Coconut
4 Cashews
1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
For Gravy:
3 tbsp Oil
1/4 tsp Mustard seeds
4 small Onion
Curry leaves
1 tsp Cumin powder
2 tsp Coriander powder
2 tsp Chili powder
1 small Tamarind
required Water
required Salt - Jak na to + styl

Made this today! SO DELICIOUS and Different! Never made Kuzhumu like this before! My Mom and Dad also like it a lot and had it with Dosa today! I made the Kuzhumu a little less watery and more like thick paste so it will taste nice with hot Seeraga Sambar rice and ghee. Whenever I make a special dish like this instead of the normal recipes of rasam and sambar I will cook Seeraga samba for it. Basmati is not only expensive but fills you up faster and overpowers the side dish taste. So we use Seeraga Samba instead for specal dishes. I also used Nallenai (Sesame oil) at the end since it is Kuzhumbu recipe and it added a nice smell and taste. The highlight is the Vazhakkai. Def was a new texture. Had a filling meal today ^^. The only con is when I shallow-fried the Vazhakkai I had an intense cough because the chili powder was creating spicy smoke. We used less oil as such the dry spice smoke was a bit much. If we cover and cook it will become moist so that was a bit difficult. I think if we had an overhead Chimney this would be easier since the smoke will be sucked in.

I tried this recipe too. After adding coconut it was too good. The flavor was both Mild and strong at the same time. Try adding sesame oil (Nallaennai) at the end. For Kuzhumbu sesame oil gives very nice smell and taste. I added it and liked it.
