  • In this video, we are taking to the streets of Bogota, Colombia to help you better understand street signs in Spanish. When you travel to a Spanish speaking country you might find street signs confusing. This video gives you some examples of what kind of vocabulary you will find on street signs. Some of the Spanish-speaking countries will use different words but for the most part, it will be very similar. This video is in Spanish and has Spanish subtitles. This video is also good as a listening compression exercise. There is a quiz at the end of the video for you to check your understanding.

Pero cuando estoy estudiando contigo es cómo un juego o más como estamos contigo en ese momento literalmente. Me sentí como estuve caminando contigo en tu ciudad y estuvimos hablando y practicando cómo leerlos. 👍

Just adding up some elements which may help with the understanding, in case you are interested: "home delivery" is literally translated as "entrega a domicilio", "domicilio" meaning "home address" and "entrega" meaning "delivery"). Just like in English there is a shorter version, which is "delivery" in Colombia the shorter version is "domicilio".

I also like the fact that you speak relatively slowly and clearly which helps a great deal and means I dont have to keep rewinding the video and playing it again, and again. Its great that your videos have a useful, real-world theme. Thanks again and I look forward to more videos, keep up the good work.

I think reading spanish news or books and watching spanish videos, novelas, movies, etc. are both great ways to build and reinforce vocabulary. Another option is a tool to help you practice new words each day. When I run across new words, I add to one of my (many!) lists in a (free) program called Anki (apps.ankiweb.net/), then each day I use the app on my phone to study. This flashcard app uses a spaced repetition algorithm, so it's smart about re-introducing words to you just about the time you are likely to forget them. Another similar app is Quizlet (quizlet.com).
