As a Flames fan that still watches most of the LFR’s because I appreciate his passion, tonight was nice. We might not win squat this year, but we won the make Steve freak out award, which is good too.
I'm not a Leafs fan. I stumbled upon this channel after the Erik Karlsson trade and saw Steve's take on it. I now know way more about the Leafs than I care to because I watch every single recap cause these vids are awesome. Keep up the good content bud.
Babs has been working on that D so much that it's cramped our scoring. BUT, if we were still letting in 5, 6 goals a night, or hadn't done ANY work on our D, people would be upset about THAT (and rightfully so). I HATE when he does this, but he's playing the long game. The main problem last night was NO EFFORT. There have been SEVERAL games this year where there has been NO effort, at least until the last 10 minutes of a game. THAT'S gotta change! And I'm confident it will. Not worried about this team at all (but the lack of effort is maddening, yes, when you know how freakin' good they are).
If it's any comfort (and it probably isn't), this is how I also felt about my Avs last game vs. division rival Minny. Still grumpy over that poor effort, and I don't want to hear excuses.
As a sens fan ( yes we do exist ) I love to watch LFR... specially after a lost for the pure entertainment value. Toronto is such a good team though, I hope they go far this year unless they face the sens (unlikely)
If Matthews and Nylander are never born and the leafs have this roster they are still a playoff team maybe even a contender, which means THEY SHOULD PLAY SO MUCH BETTER THEN THEY DID LAST NIGHT!
My smile when every Leafs fan was telling me the Habs were "garbage, total garbage" earlier in the season and right now we are looking good while Steve is back to screaming :D

Notable for so so play was Brown, Johnsson and Leivo. Seriously, if Brown just had a tiny bit more skill he'd be leading the scoring race. Johnsson just looks amateur. Now Leivo, can we make him learn to skate faster? Marleau had chances, come on Patty pot one now and then. Leafs really needed a goal from the bottom 6 tonight but were let down.

The leafs have this amazing inability to set the pace of their games. It always seems like the worse the team they're facing, the worse they play, the better the team they're facing the better they play. If you really want to be a contender you have to be able to set the pace of the game! Then you're not having 2 of your 4 losses be to BOTTOM DWELLER TEAMS!
