7 Tips to Get the Most Use Out of Your RV
I can't believe what all they have fit in these. These are impressive
Extra seats huge waste space need them gone my personal opinion
Ford for the win. Thank you!!
You bet!
250 to 300 is the ideal.. due to the question marks on charging in lots of other states besides the coasts
320 Watt battery? Confused because batteries are not usually measured in Watts. Is this WattHours or did you mean AmpHours?
Wow, what a machine! In a go anywhere motor like this the world is your oyster! And no matter where you go a fantastic vehicle like this just screams out "mug us we're loaded!" Nighty night, sleep wellđ
You seem to have overlooked three important 'van purchase' differences. Apples to apples, the Promaster is less expensive to purchase new. Lead time to receive a Transit you have ordered requires a longer wait time. And how do the costs of the most common options choices compare?
Thanks for this video. I have never done a repositioning cruise but am excited about trying them out. You guys have provided a great insight into what to expect, with useful information about what to do, how you feel, the advantages of having a balcony and the large number of activities available on sea days. I like the fact that it didn't seem crowded at all, which I guess is a feature of repositioning. Very inspiring!
Our pleasure!
Dry bath is a waste of space. You could create a hanging closet out of the sink room instead.
Is this Jeff Bezos in retirement?đ

The price is very comparable to similar offroad trailers! Just look at other overlanding campers, things get really crazy, really quickly! This is not a camper that can be compared to a highway princess that simply utilizes campgrounds located off a paved road. Lots of options out there for that style of camping. For offroad campers, this particular one checks all the boxes! Just like anything, take care of it, and it will last a long time!! Hard to compare an f150 or a nissan pickup to an offroad camp trailer...... I highly recommend seeing one in person! Cheers! Happy camping everyone!
When I was 8 yo, my family of four rented a VW camper (smaller than todayâs class b camper conversions) and slept all four (though, being the smallest, I got the cot across the front seats, which wasnât the most comfortable). This made me a confirmed âkeep it simple stupidâ person when it comes to âneed to haveâ items. This includes no indoor showers or other items that increase need for water, other than drinking and minimal washing. Looking at some of the builds out there, the rewards for some compromises, like the no shower, is extra space to take an e-bike inside, as well as more, and more convenient storage than we had in the VW. Besides that, sorry, but I HATE generators in the great outdoors. What an obnoxious sound in pristine wilderness areas. Iâm looking at a Ford Transit (long wheel base, high roof) conversion as not too big, but not too small for me. The ability to easily convert it to be a cargo van, and to use it as a primary vehicle is an added bonus that would get rid of the expense of maintaining two vehicles. Btw, Iâm choosing the Ford for the AWD and driverâs seating position over the Ram and the cost (and maintenance cost) of the Mercedes. Variety is the spice of life, but this is what Iâm looking for.
WellâŠâŠ out of everyone POSSIBLY who is or has watched this; Iâm PROBABLY the ONLY person who is EXTREMELY interested in purchasing this camper !!! My only delima is i just started payments on a 2024 VW TAOS SEL 4MOTION when i moved back from Hawaii earlier this year ! I, personally have ZERO problems with this camper . Im 65 and a widow of 18 years in a couple months. Iâd have to find a vehicle that can tow this and unfortunately the Taos cannot. (Joe knows Iâd the camper all maxed out too). Well worth it when being able to go places and see things enjoying life . Just remember: TO EACH IS OWN. Thanks Joe for an excellent walk through. Hugs to Kait, Deb in Florida
Youâre very welcome Deb! So if you look at the vehicle in this video I believe itâs a Taos. You should have 5k towing capacity. Iâd suggest calling or emailing Arkto to get their opinion.
How about dual vanity sink in the bathroom. With full tile. Or something I've never seen before, a full-size bath tub with massaging jets.
A window on the rear end would make it perfect. I like seeing in all directions without needing to go outside.
Oatman Arizona seems like a town I'd love to settle in
What kind of seats do you have in your truck âŠ
These, we also have them in our van: czcams.com/video/Or-_Df4N9Tk/video.htmlsi=PXUOW7RgpgqfZOGr
They make cheaply put together RVs . ..I'd rather build out a bus....much better made. Everyone I know that has A Very Expensive RV ... complain about the how they fall apart and not worth the money. They don't hold up very long!!!!!
I want bump outs for more bed space
No C-Pap shelf on the bed đ€·ââïž
As much I dislike/distrust Ford, itâs 2x that for Stellantis. They just donât understand or care about reliability. Plus getting work done on Ram isnât easy due to how busy Stellantis/Ram/Dodge service centers are.
I am in Australia and I dont believe Ive ever seen a gasoline transit. Every one ive driven was diesel. The ford transit is a SUPERB vehicle. Its is reliable , drives like a car, stops on a penny and is built like a tank. They do go through a lot of front brake pads though.
Great VIDEO! Where can I find your Racoon t-shirt with the socks and shoes on? Thank YOU
Thank you! You can find the shirt here storytelleroverland.com/products/retro-raccoon-charcoal
I prefer the Promaster to the Transit for driving based solely on the location of the gear selector. In the Promaster is higher on the dash and allows me to not have my knee hitting the housing for the gear selector like it does in the Transit. I'm 6'4" so knee position is critical.
Interior d3sign is good espically the white color I like mostly but want more luxurious
Luv Oliver â€
I prefer the Ford Transit.
I just started looking at these two, since Wayfarer does one day conversions on these two only and they look pretty sweet. If I decide to get one, I think Iâll go with the Ford, since the whole point of camping is to get away from the beaten trail, and the all wheel drive would be a game changer in these areas. Thanks for your review. Of course, with the two different sizes, itâs hard to compare when it comes to sizing. I had a VW camper back in the 70âs, and Iâm looking to recreate that experience with the addition of all the great battery tech today.
He looks like Vin Diesel, seriously. =M=
Beautiful truck I love it
It's perfect for a single or couple, but the price, sheesh! You'd quickly want something bigger for that price
Enjoyed the tour. Loved it. Would definitely consider purchasing.
Knock 100k$ off that price and I'll buy today.
When you travel about simply stay in campgrounds you can spend up to 14 days straight in these places before you have to move on then when you move on move to another campground
I worked at a public beach in Florida. We locked gates to the parking lots at night (the policy after Covid). It doesnât matter what type of vehicle you have, if itâs still in the lot, we shine a light at it through all the windows. If the windows are covered, weâre going to assume someone is in there and knock. I saw some sad situations, including one couple that had removed the backseat of their sedan and were sleeping in a few sheets cramped in the back. There is no such thing as stealth camping if youâre in a place with patrols.
Great review!
Thanks!
I am curious how it works if you are in a full-hookup campground that has septic hookup at each site. If you have black and gray tanks, do you still fill them up then dump them in the usual manner, as if you were at a dump station, or do you just leave both valves open all the time and feed both the black and gray into the connected septic hookup? There are those seasonal campers, for example. They might be at the site for 3 months or more. I'm curious how they handle this. Very interesting video. I like the cassette idea but I also like that roll-around black tank contraption. I also saw a toilet that burns the waste? How odd is that?
You canât leave a black tank open. What happens is that all of the liquid will go into the septic and leave the solid behind which will eventually form a pyramid and block up your toilet.
@@Weretherussos So, I guess what they must do is allow the black tank to fill up, then with the hose connected to the outside dump port in the ground, they periodically dump the black tank, followed by the gray tank, to flush out the hose. Really, not so different than what one would do at a dump station.
80,000$ !!!
Nice compact trailer.
Perfect for Mother-In-Law living in the backyard during spring/summer/fall. haha
Im 6ft 8in. Will i be able to move around and sleep comfortably inside this vehicle. Or do i need something bigger?
Youâd probably need something bigger. Itâs going to be hard to find something with ceilings high enough so you donât have to bend down
You also don't need a real camper or a sprinter van glamper to urban camp. I built a little camper setup out of plywood in the back of my '94 F150. Very non-descript, but I'll protest that she's also a nice-looking old girl, not all rusty, so I feel comfortable camping in a city. I stayed a night in Chicago earlier this year on my way to see the solar eclipse in Muncie, and it was great. I toured the city for the weekend and went on my merry way late Sunday night.
This cruise looks pretty awesome.
I consistently get 16.5 mpg on my self built 2017 3.5 eco 250 Transit with 235/75R16 KO2s... The van weighs 8k lbs (trip ready) I drive pretty aggressively - But I do NOT have a roof rack - which easily takes 15% off you gas mileage So your 14.4 mpg * 1.15 = 16.74 MPG So Don't Fn install those dorky @$$ roof rack to your rig - If you need more storage Buy a BIGGER rig...
Thanks
Slid in cammpers are better then flatbed ones also bigger for some odd reason
This was so engaging. He was so knowledgeable. I felt like I just watched the best show hauler masterclass of my entire life. I could listen to him all day. What a treat! The quality of care. The professionalism. He made me super excited! Thank you a thousand times for this! I do have questions, I do want to know what is the insurance on these, the depreciation value, the ccc.
I wish these things didn't cost so much, I want to be free.
52k is more than I expected.
