FMV definitely has its place in history. I remember when the genre hit the Sega CD, it blew my teenage mind. It might look lame to the modern gamer, but if you lived in that era, most people thought it was cool, even though the gameplay was mediocre. Corpse Killer was my favorite, because as a 90s teen, the horror genre was barely visible in gaming. Also loved the Limited Run remasters a few years back.

I guess it's just me, but I liked all the ones she gave a D with the exception of the 3D ones. I like the ones she mentioned not including like the Police Quest series. There were a couple of ranked games I did not play, but I don't remember particularly disliking any Sierra series.

Yeah, i agree i enjoyed Suikoden 1 more overall. It has a much better pacing and also more interesting characters and a far better overall theme that worked for me. LOYALITY. Loyality to your Emperor, the Empire and your Father. I think it really played out very well.... Together with a much better pacing than the second game. The issues i had with the second game, was its game flow it starts very slow allready and after the first half of the game, which is the best one - i enjoyed Luca Blights cheesyness - the big dragg started and the story made no sense whatsoever, if only at least Necron would have become the main antagonist, they build him up so well in the first 2 games. And he was the toghest boss fight in both games, too, with a much bigger story build up in Suikoden II on top of it. Nothing makes sense....

I played this game when it came out, my favorite Quest game from sierra, but the bugs where almost game breaker. The game crashed so often that I was saving my game every 5 minutes. I had a bug that each time I was visiting the gypsie camp, I had to change the sound setting to ad-lib because the howling of the wolf was crashing the game. So before visiting the camp, I saved, exited the game, changed the sound driver, started the game, restored my save game, visited the camp in full ad-lib glory, saved again, exited the game, put back SoundBlaster and restored again.

Easy: NEC didn't have the marketing capital, so Nintendo and Sega had more cash, hence more visibility. Turbo 16 made the best old school games and music. See "Blazing Lasers" for classic 80s music. Edit: Bonk is unpleasant to look at? Oof. I have a large head and she's not wrong.

Does anyone know if they plan to port this on console? Never played on PC love the art design a lot!

I'm finally playing this game for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised by how good the writing is, even in 2024. this would have blown my mind if I played it as a kid. in terms of storytelling and presentation, it is way ahead of it's time. they really need to re-release this or Remake it so a new generation of gamers can play and experience this!

Tex Murphy games are my all time faves but I missed Overseer since I could not play it with more more modern PC. It is a dirty shame that we do not get any new Tex Murphy games. I could not install Gabriel Knight the Beast Within either. Dr. Dekker game was good and I really like American Hero. I do not care about any other Digital Pictures games but Night Trap was easily the best of their games and I liked it. American Hero is great too. I was pleased that it got released after all the years. A very nice video and I am going to play Erica next. Thank you!

Blah. No desire to play any of these 16-bit looking games. Been there, done that, back in the Sega Genesis games. While I don't need great graphics, I at least need a game that doesn't look 30+ years old.
