I've just been replaying Conviction on my XBox One. I played it originally on the iPhone and loved it, and then tried it a few years ago on the Xbox. Just replayed it over the last week and enjoyed it very much. It doesn't feel as epic as Chaos Theory and a little simpler... the levels aren't as massive and they go by quicker. Looking forward to tackling Blacklist again soon (currently diving into the Deniable Operations... they're actually a load of fun too).

Death’s design is not inspired by Gears of War. These games are meant to look somewhat like comic books. The art director was a comic book artist. I know he worked on Spider-Man comics, but Peter Parker’s slender frame would not work for ancient warriors, hence why the makers, War, the angels and demons, and even Death to some extent are very muscular and have exaggerated proportions in some areas. But Death, if you noticed, has a more slender frame than the other characters, with only some muscles being “swollen”. He is meant to look more agile and animalistic than War. This can all be observed better in the art books for the games. One exception is Strife. He has oddly normal proportions for a Darksiders character. I suspect it’s because Darksiders Genesis was developed by a different team. Either way, it fits him to have a more slender body, as he is a gun slinger and somewhat of a trickster, rather than a full fledged warrior.

Take some notes from Worth a Buy Mack!

Played this one three years ago or so, and like others said, enjoyed the first part with all the mystery. The ending was kind of abrupt and disappointing, but since the game is usually at a discount nowadays, I'd say it's worth a try for anyone that sees it as remotely interesting. Another murder mystery game that I really liked was Mundaun, maybe you want to give it a try. Cheers!

Played this years ago, close to when it came out. The first part, where you explore, and things are sort of lowkey, is great. The winter atmosphere and onion peel mistery are intriguing. But the second part, where things finally go bump in the night, doesn't really manage to follow through. It feels like the game was not really built for it, even if I appreciate the devs trying to shake things up a little at the end. I think the first part could've used a little more action, and the second part some more slowing down. What we get instead is first one thing, and then the other, almost completely separate. Then the game ends abruptly, as if there was supposed to be more to it, but development had to be wrapped. I didn't dislike the narrator, and yeah the jokes and lines can be a bit corny, but I enjoyed the relaxed commentary, as if it's a story somebody tells at a bar. All in all, I don't regret my purchase, but I haven't touched it since first finishing it, not a lot of replayability.

The comparisons to Portal are many and obviously intentional, but this clever and ambitious first person puzzler is no mere clone.

It's easy enough to recommend Outlast despite the weaknesses. As far as atmosphere goes, it's at the top of its class and the journey throughout is a Well-constructed one, for the most part. It occasionally dips too much into common video game contrivances--three fuses littered around the area, three switches for a door, scrounging for batteries, that sort of thing. it's still a gruesomely enjoyable tale despite its flaws, but Combined with that, it all made my experience with it feel similar to walking through a haunted house: it's scary, but not in a very clever way.

I just played the first chapter and initially thought it was ok for an "early 360" game (thinking 06 or 07)....only to find out it came out in 2013. Holy crap lol.

Just bought the game on Steam for £3.99. A game that's about gameplay is a breath of fresh air. This game is awesome.

We happy few is one of my favourite games it still good to play but I wish they fixed up the world a little more but hey ho good story

Mecenaries 2 World in Flames was a good game. Just Cause series never copied the airstike and full building destruction.

This is one of the best games of all time, i know it's a bit popular, but still.... under-rated imo! Another one that is cruelly under-rated is the amazing Lost Planet 3! (if you ever need some content + you'll have a great time for sure!) ;)

Man the music in this review is too loud compared to the voice

So, as a rare fan of this game (despite its problems) I have three big suggestions for anyone thinking about playing it. 1 - Do NOT play on "normal." If you're into survival games and/or immersive sims, play on "hard" so that the survival mechanics actually matter and could kill you. Otherwise, play it on "easy" to shut off the survival stuff entirely, which drastically cuts down on the tedious parts. The story and worldbuilding are the best things about this game anyway. The stealth and combat are only so-so. 2 - Don't bother fully exploring the procedural maps, especially outside the city. They're too big, and contain too little extra content to be worth the time totally uncovering the map. And there's too much walking in the game anyway. Just focus on your objectives. 3 - Assuming you buy the DLC - which you should, if you're going to play this - don't play the chapters in release order. Instead, jumping between main and DLC campaigns will help it feel less repetitive. The shorter story-focused DLCs make a nice break from the longer main-campaign episodes. And due to the overlapping and nonlinear storytelling, this actually won't cause any significant plot issues. IMO, the best play order is Arthur, Roger, Sallie, Nick, Ollie, Victoria.

The best way to experience this game is to not have any expectations. Don't expect Bioshock or anything. Just except it for what it is.

the game gave me a BioShock infinite feel which is a game i really liked but the open world mechanics for this game and the survival elements turns me down quit a bit so for now this is a pass for me but maybe one day i will come back to it

I started this game after getting it from a buddy for free. Honestly not too long after I got in depth with the combat, I kinda lost interest and quit under a year ago. I'll go back to it eventually but there's other things I wanna play first. Worth noting, the setting was made as authentic as possible. The creators tried their best to reproduce what that area of London actually looked like back then. You just don't see that level of commitment these days.
