I Got The Flu was actually written and recorded in 2018 after Chris Record got sick with the flu, and the music video was filmed and edited in early 2020, well BEFORE Coronavirus / Covid-19 became a global pandemic.
Chris didn't want to release the flu song at that time because covid-19 was very serious and it felt like the wrong time to release a comedy song about getting sick with the flu. But now that we've all had time to adjust to this "new normal" I think we can all handle a little comedy in our lives.
I Got The Flu is a parody of a song by Gucci Mane called "I Get The Bag" ft. Migos. Chris Record models after the same flow and style of both Migos and Gucci Man, but remixes the lyrics to talk about the struggles of getting sick sick with the flu, having to stay home and not have fun, and the conflict of following medical advice when it never seems accurate.
We added a couple of adjustments to the video to make it a Coronavirus Rap Remix, by throwing in some corona bottles and some news clips talking about covid-19, but the song is actually about catching the common flu.
