The 2024 awards for Breaking News Photography and National Reporting, announced on May 6 at Columbia University in New York, brought the Reuters tally to 12 Pulitzers since 2008, when the news service first won what is widely seen as the most prestigious award in journalism. In a message to staff, Reuters Editor-in-Chief Alessandra Galloni hailed the awards as recognition of the courage and tenacity that defines Reuters journalism. She concluded her message by noting “the tremendous sacrifices our frontline journalists make when covering conflict, especially those who do so in their own homelands.” In all, nine photographers in Gaza and Israel, supported by seven editors and the Global Pictures Desk, gave the world what the Pulitzer board called “raw and urgent photographs documenting the October 7th deadly attack in Israel by Hamas and the first weeks of Israel’s devastating assault on Gaza”. Galloni told staff: “The work of the Gaza-Israel team was part of a vast portfolio of distinguished journalism by an even larger group of Reuters photographers, videographers and text reporters who’ve covered the war.” She said the photographers had “maintained a clear-eyed focus under the unrelenting and exhausting pressure of covering the deadliest conflict for journalists in decades.” Reuters won the National Reporting award for what the Pulitzer board said was “an eye-opening series of accountability stories focused on Elon Musk’s automobile and aerospace businesses, stories that displayed remarkable breadth and depth and provoked official probes of his companies’ practices in Europe and the United States.” Galloni said nine reporters and six editors had collaborated on the Musk series, which had exposed “harms at Musk companies that regulators had failed to police, sparking investigations in the U.S. and Europe and calls for action for U.S. lawmakers.” They shared the award with staff of The Washington Post, who won for a series about the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle, a weapon at the center of debate over mass shootings in the United States.

I am looking to buy a budget nikon 10megapixel ccd dslr camera with built in motor, any suggestions?

Should be using a Nikon D 3 in my opinion.

I got into collecting old early digital cameras a few years ago. It's amazing how sophisticated they were in such a small package. My first digital camera was the Nikon Coolpix 5700 (which I still own). I loved that it has an articulating screen which thankfully has been carried forward to newer cameras today. A very helpful feature.

Interesting video as you've opened up a new horizon for me. Just to be sure of the pieces and parts I need to make this work for my m 4/3rds Olympus EM1 camera. I need the enlarging lens with an aperture control / ring with m39 mount. I need that M39 to M42 adapter ring. And, then I need a M42 to Micro 4/3 rds adapter (this I own). Did I get this right ? Thanks again !!!!

I do use all the time the OM-5:s art filters. Actually always have the ART Bracketing on. You can even customize which filters will be used. . A RAW file is recorded too, so you can revert to the original shot. Really like some of the filters.

Hello, I'm not a photographer but my love for photography always has been one of my passion since a childhood. In the mid 90's I only took film pictures not knowing anything about ISO, shutter speed and apeture priority. Then, the digital took over film photography. To make a short story about two year ago my passion for photography took me to a journey to started take pictures again I first started to buy film camera but I was shocked that the film development was not longer available an to expensive to develop so started to buy a lot compact digital camera but I always wanted to have good quality pictures so I bought too many. About two month your video started to appear on CZcams and one of the brand you cover is the panasonic lumix camera I never thought that after washing your video about panasonic camera I started to be lucky and came across 3 panasonic lumix FX07, lumix zs3 and lumix FZ150 all this 3 camera were bought at thrift store at $20 in good condition. Their is one more camera I would like to have in my collection that is the Leica V-Lux 1 Mirrorless. I love the my 3 lumix camera they are very good when it comes to quality pictures. Thanks for what you bring to photography passion and knowledge to all types of photographers. Take care and thank you👍

There is nothing like an old Takumar lens... it just has this look kinda similar to how Leica has a look to their images. and you have combined those two!!! Love this video Carmine.

You certainly are not wrong the colours so vibrant and background is so soft, I will make it a mission to find one somewhere in my travels. I like M42 mounts there is no movement when mounted especially when using an adapter. Thank you for the reviews and sharing your work.
