Thank you so much! And yea I've found that when you have all these other practices, the purpose or intention of tarot transforms beyond the norm of divination or self examination. For example I find myself taping cards into my sketchbooks just because I love the artwork at face value. Or using the cards to reflect on a book I read. If you don't mind sharing, what do you find yourself drawn to when you're away from your cards? I'm always curious about other people's interests.

You have my mind really thinking about how tarot extends beyond divination and self examination...so much to ponder there! Learning from plants is where I am often, outside in nature & during the gardening season (herbs & flowers mostly). I feel like Tarot helps us to fine tune our receptivity, and I sometimes "tune in" throughout the day...noting a conversation I overheard, words on a sign, animals and their behavior. I also realized I use cards more often in the "indoor" months of autumn & winter...as there is much more to do in the outside world spring-summer 🌞

@@Calluna.V that's such a good point! I wonder if that tendency stems from the need for a connection when the outside world is hibernating. Even down to the decks people use during the fall/winter seasons, I feel like they're a little darker and have more depth to them, are more complex, like we're searching for the collective inwardly because there's less going on outward.

I ended up trimming mine a few weeks ago as well. Left a slight border around them but I just want to be able to actually use them, and they're already hard to overhand shuffle so trimming helped. It hurt though lol

You know I was actually hoping to work with it closely this summer, so I could definitely plan a video for it! Hopefully it doesn't get reported for all the images lol

I've assigned the majors a time frame and the minors a week of the year. The aces are just seasons in general. OR I pre designate how many days or weeks every card will represent and then flip them over one at a time until reaching a card that signifies the event I'm looking for. For example if each card is a week and 5 cards into the deck is the 8 of Wands, then in 5 weeks I'll be traveling. Website is down temporarily as I manage my work/school schedule : )

What are the major timeframes, and the minor weeks, and the ace seasons? And for your other method, do you know which card you're looking for when you pre-designate the time? Or is it just the first card that fits the bill? 🙏🙏🙏

@cev12 you have to decide what makes sense to you. Some people have earth/pentacles assigned as Spring. I prefer them as Fall. Some people feel water/cups is Spring, some people Summer. Aces would be just that general season. ie: Ace of Swords = winter (or w.e you want it to be). 2 of Swords the first week of winter. 3 of Swords the 2nd week. Page = 10th week. King = 13th week. The majors are a time frame based on their astrological correspondence. Strength is Leo season. Hermit Virgo season. The world / saturn = 28 years. Judgement / Pluto = 248 years. etc. Those get more into ancestral work or shadow work for the past. And I have predesignated cards to represent what it is I'm looking for. Sometimes more than one. For example, "when will I meet someone?" = the lovers, 2 of cups, page of cups, knight of cups, Ace of Cups, Ace of Wands, 4 of Wands. Whichever I run into first in the deck will also tell me a little more about the situation. For example Ace of Cups vs. Ace of Wands showing up first could mean there's emotional connection but not much physical attraction. And if it's it's 10 cards deep and I've decided each card is a week, it'll be about 2.5 months from now. I've combined a lot of what I've read into methods that work for me. Saturnarium's channel is helpful and some book by Dusty White. I think The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot touched on timing if I remember correctly.

@cev12 you're very welcome. And I've had accuracy with both but I've found that flipping through the deck until reaching a relevant card gives much more information. Because often the cards I'm flipping through tell a story along the way. But that's just been my experience.

Anytime we want to speak of power we speak of a power *dynamic*. Power is inherently unequal. Whether it's exerted over a version of ourselves or over other people or over a system or over our possessions. That it the point of Power. It is always at the expense of something or someone. "At whose?" should be the next question asked, whether reflecting on an internal or external power struggle. I doubt anyone who looked at the card I think you're referring to was quick to label anything. That's a card that causes pause. The only question is whether it was a conscious or uninformed use of imagery on the part of the artist, because we all know that in a world where everything is so much more immediately available, not everyone is willing to inform themselves on everything they consume 🤷🏽‍♀️ what each individual chooses to see is up to them. But it opens a great discussion!

Just finished googling and watching flip throughs of both of them and I do REALLY like them. I always liked the textured tarot when I'd see it in passing but idk... I never pulled the trigger. It reminds me of the Begin Oracle. 😬 might need it just for that lol. And the Stretch Tarot is similar to Unknown Shadows. They might need each other too lol but I'm trying so hard not buy more without getting rid of stuff smh

Thinking on what you said actually brings to mind how naturally it came to describe the decks as people. I mean, the cards are just a collection of human energies and experiences and art lends itself well that expression. So it falls right into place lol

I've been using it pretty exclusively for the last month or so and it's one of my favorite working decks now. The cards really communicate with each other visually and write such interesting narratives. Great deck if you're looking to work beyond symbology and archetypes.

There's a Badass Tarot 2 coming out I just learned! You can pre-order it I believe. You know on the flip side of that I'm also triggered when people make comments about how great my family is as if we have no struggles. You know how people assume that because your public family is nice and neat, that they have it so much harder than you. And it's like, no, you don't get to make that judgement because you don't know our shadow lol. That's a good glimpse of where to start too I guess.

I have to let go of what the cards traditionally mean to me. Which is hard for me to do. Especially when they're labeled lol. But yes, it's very demanding and usually requires its own time set aside. Which I have to be better about.

I saw there was a linen edition! I prefer linen and non pregnant empresses, but I also prefer the original Emperor and the all blue backs. So I couldn't bring myself to order basically the exact same deck lol. But I'm so glad it was successful enough to produce another edition.
