      This is a 2010 engine, but for the sensors it would be the same as any SBC to LS swap. I used the factory mercruiser sensors and adapted them to the LS block.

      @brendandonovan9040 Yes, I will definitely be doing a cam swap, looking like a stage 2 truck cam or something with similar specs. My boat is not a "speed" boat hull so honestly 60mph is more than enough top speed in it. I figure I might pick up 2 mlh with a 750 carb and maybe another 5 or 6 with the cam swap. • @JohnnyAnderson1
      @JohnnyAnderson1 Před 5 dny

      @m.armstrong53 it really comes down to the efficiency of the engine in comparison to the work its having to perform whenever your dealing fuel mileage. What I did improved the engines ability to make power, so it has to work less under the same conditions. Now if I wanted to drive it hard it would be able to burn more fuel than a stock engine, if I accelerated as slowly as the stock engine did I would even bet it would get better economy than it did stock. Probably not a noticeable difference though. I did headers, and added 799 heads to bump compression 1 point also.

    im confused, if boat speed is hardcore dependent on RPM then would it not make sense to swap in a turbo 4 cyl and mate that to a nice transmission (should inboard boats have that) considering they can make same power and and at a higher rpm? im just curious cause i havent seen it yet (or looked it up rather)

    • @JohnnyAnderson1
      @JohnnyAnderson1 Před 8 dny

      @dustinhenry8598 Honestly, I have always wondered why boats didn't have transmissions, but since you take off with a 1to1 ratio and prop the boat for max rpm at top speed, there really isnt a need. My boat planes out in less than 3 seconds (probably 2) so a lower gear would not help at all on holeshot. I do know that some of the larger heavier boats do have them. And I could see a benefit if your boat goes 100+ mph it would allow you to cruise at lower speeds.

    Good job getting it to work but there are issues …I would recommend 6.0 LS with iron block and heads for marine use even in fresh water and really a cast iron intake as well but with the LS I think your stuck with aluminum , anyways aluminum is a super big no no….also the thru hull exhaust looks susceptible to water reversion into the engine ….afirthermore you need a marine alternator, a marine fuel pump with a safety return to the carb, a marine carburetor, a marine starter , a marine distributor and I’m sure I’m forgetting something

    May I make a suggestion? Please get rid of the fuel pressure gauge in the engine compartment if the gauge fails and shoots fuel out of the gauge into your engine compartment and there is a spark you will blow up your boat and everybody will get killed . All it take is one leak of fuel either out of the fitting or out of the fuel pressure gauge and you are done. You can pull the gauge put in a pip plug and seal it and keep the gauge in the boat and if you ever have fuel pressure problems you can install the gauge temporally to check fuel pressure but take out the fuel gauge its not safe ,Are you willing to roll the dice on a chinese fuel gauge?
