Fishing videos of my trips out with a rod and line. I've been fishing for as long as I can remember and began kayak fishing in 2004, although kayak fishing has been my biggest passion I now find myself fishing more from my SIB (Soft Inflatable Boat). Fly fishing for trout in wild places is also something I enjoy along with catching Cod,Pollock,Coalfish,Mackerel and anything else that comes along while I'm out afloat in either kayak or SIB (Soft Inflatable Boat).
The channel began way back as a means to get kayak fishing trip videos embedded into the kayak fishing UK forums as part of catch reports, since the upsurge in Facebook groups the forums are no longer but I still enjoy sharing my experiences and making videos of my fishing trips.
We also have an allotment, where as well as growing fruit and veg, we keep around 40 chickens, there is always a battle keeping on top of pests so the odd rat control videos may appear So please enjoy and like and subscribe if you do.
Thanks.

A Carp from the Lillies
Join me for a short session at a local pond after I've recently dusted off my old coarse fishing gear. I'm a bit rusty to say the least but I managed to winkle out a Bream and a Carp as I try to get my head around things again after a long time away from this type of fishing.
The plan was to fish the method feeder (which is quite new to me) and then try for a fish off the top on floating dog biscuits, they were taking them readily quite close to me but I didn't get a chance to try as they seemed to go off the feed, so I'll go back and try again as soon as I can.

Hot Smoked Mackerel in a Home-made Smoker
zhlédnutí 201Před 21 dnem
One of the ways Ilike to eat mackerel is to hot smoke it, it tastes lovely and the flavour can be varied by changing the brine mixture. There are lots of containers that can be used as a smoker or you can just buy a purpose made smoker, but me being me I like to reuse things. I need to come up with a better rack and ways to have racks stacked above each other. Any suggestions are welcome.

One man and his dog go Fly Fishing for Trout, we went to Derwent Reservoir in search of trout on the fly. I used to fish this water a lot back in the day and also from boats as they used to have them back then. Things are a bit different these days with an obvious head of perch and pike, I ended up catching more perch than trout and I could see several very small fingerling size pike in the wat...

SIB Fishing UK - A Hard Day North of the Tyne to South of the Tyne. The day started off badly with a damaged bolt on my trailer hitch, but with Grahams help we did a repair job good enough for the return trip home. I lost the sound on most of the clips so didn't use them, but we did catch fish even though the sea lifted and made things a bit bumpy. We launched from the Tyne and fished around St...

Tynemouth to Wearmouth SIB Fishing UK. The fishing was slow on this trip I was chasing my tail going from spot to spot trying to find fish. I had a look around the piers at Sunderland at the damage caused by storm Babet, no sign of any repair work though! South Shields Pier also damaged in the storm had contractors repairing it. I went out to a wreck and managed a drift or two over it for one W...

SIB Fising UK, Codling and Coalfish at Beadnell, at last I managed to get out on the SIB after months waiting for a decent break in the relentless wind! I met up with Rob ( @screwscruise-sibfishinguk1971 )and Ian and was into fish pretty much straight away on the ebbing tide, we fished around the Newton Bouy, North Sunderland Bouy and down to Dunstanburgh Castle. I've been wanting to have a run...

Nice fish Wayne 😏
Thanks 😃
Absolute belter of a day out there, im sure we'll all agree.. The music i love when were heading back together which makes it look racey.. I've done it in my vids and was pointed out from the session at "The Farnes" and that the sound of the engine would be better.. as you say, you cant please them all.. 😂 but keep em coming bud 👍🎣
Cheers mate 👍 yeah it was a cracking day and great memories 🎣😎
Never tried this type of fishing, I hear it's a bit more expensive than salt water fishing.. but not SIB 😂 Nice little vid again bud.. 👍
My mum will only have FRESH mackerel done on the BBQ... So... Is there much difference - if any, to fresh mackerel and frozen mackerel being smoked / BBQ'd..?
Both taste the same to me mate, I need to BBQ some just to double check 👍😀
Such innovation , well done Wayne 😊😊
@user-pl8gy7mt3d thanks 🙏
I mentioned in the description that I lost sound on a lot of my GoPro clips in fact nearly all of them, I was gutted, so I didn’t want to loose them altogether so did an intro to music with a small selection of them. Music is always difficult in editing especially when traveling out at sea as all you get is wind and engine noise, it’s hard to please everyone 🤣
Some trip that was!! Just a damn shame you lost some footage...
It certainly was mate, yeah gutted, it was in fact nearly all my GoPro stuff with some really good fish getting caught as well. But hey ho there’s always next time 🎣👍
What's this a music vid or a fishing vid ????
He hasn't got as much music as some do . Such a pet hate for me as ruins it . Still enjoyed the video . Some I'm forced to stop . The music drives me nuts 😂
What are those black bags on your handles for?
Hi, they are military canteen holders, I store my weights, lures etc in them.
Thanks Wayne!!!
Looks like a great time I love labs always dependable dogs just happy to be by your side
Yeah they’re just great all rounders, he walked up Cat Bells with us yesterday 😀
Little Dex looks nice and steady whilst you’re busy! I can’t do that with a spaniel 😂 Great vid as always 👍
Cheers mate, yeah he’s settled in nicely 😎
Feel partially to blame for the trailer Wayne, but glad its being fixed, ready for the next session at Newbiggin 😂. Another top video bud 👍🎣
Why not likely mate, it’s there to be used and plus I should have checked it over 🤦♂️. 🎣
Captain Dexter on the fish... great video again bud, see you out there soon 🎣🎣
Cheers mate, looking forward to it 😎👍
Cracking post mate! Dex looks very at home on the sib! Some decent fish too & those bloody gulls never fail to rock up as soon as the gutting knife is out!! 😂
Cheers mate, he’s settling in to Waynes world quite well bless him 😂
Surprised there's fish left at St Mary's due to the 'artificially' increased amount of seals there....
Hi.can you make video of your fishing gear, rods, lures, tackles please
Hi, yes next time I’m out I’ll put something together 👍
Is it free to launch at Seaham? Is there good access and parking? Cheers 🎣
Hi it’s around £130 a year plus an initial small admin fee for the key, the ramp is in the marina which is gated and has 24/7 security it is also well maintained but steep onto hard packed sand at low tide. It can be a bit awkward launching and landing in any swell. Access is good with parking but can get busy with day trippers and school trips etc. They will ask for proof of third party insurance when you apply.
Thanks very much 👍
Can’t see Roker Pier being opened for quite some time Wayne ? , informative video though , better fishing next time 😊😊
yeah it certainly doesn't seem high on the agenda!
What engine are you running?
It’s a Mariner 15hp EFI four stroke 👍
@@TheHopefulAngler ah nice! I've just been getting an Airdeck 310 with a Mariner 6hp 4 stroke. First boat :) Hopefully be able to get out this weekend, still looking for somewhere to launch though. I've put the kayak in on the beach between two piers at Sunderland, but I'm not sure if you're allowed to launch a motor craft there. Maybe I can just paddle out for a bit!
I used to launch the kayak there a lot and there is a sign saying no motorised craft. We aren’t blessed with launch spots in our area! Good luck when you get out 🎣
Have you ever thought about putting a bwit on the bottom after tope, hounds dogs or rays? And have you had many bass?
I’ve fished for rays etc in Scotland from the Kayak but not the SIB yet. I would like to catch Bass I should really go out and target them 👍
@@TheHopefulAngler yea theres a fair few in the north east these days
Definitely have to make a point of trying for them 🤞
Can you launch in Sunderland marine on the little beach next to the pier?
There is the yacht club ramp which I’ve seen used at the south end of the beach.
One of the ramps in Sunderland can't be used as there is a swans nest on it. It's all fenced off.
@JamesW81 yeah it is my thoughts are if they cleaned the mess up on a regular basis the swans wouldn’t have any nesting materials and choose another place! I’ve never thought it was well maintained for the money they charged! Apparently it may be getting built on as well.
Hi cousin. I know nothing about fishing. Are coley not good eating? I see it´s a type of pollock, and they are tasty. Fun video!
Hey Cuz 👋 nice to hear from you 😎 They are OK to eat but it all depends on your taste. Some people don’t like eating mackerel but I can’t get enough of them 😋
@@TheHopefulAngler Mackerel are good if absolutely fresh. At least there's no competition for them from your puppy.
🤣 he needs to get over it 🤣
Great video wayne nice calm day loads of fish
Great video wayne plenty of fish love the pup good fishing newbiggin
Cheers Davey looking forward to the next trip to Newbiggin, thanks again for your help 👍😎
Great if you've got a garage :D. Good job though, like it.
Nice one mate… looks like a decent day out! I’ve been busy catching rainbow wrasse in Greece 🇬🇷😎
Champion mate I take it it’s nice and hot ☀️
35c for most of the time! Almost too hot for the shallow fish… they head off to deeper water! 😅
What did we say...?! No one believes us when we say Newbiggin is an under rated mark.... That selection of fish proves that today... Well done you lot...👍
A lot going for it I’m looking forward to more trips 👍😎
i love those trukit cats. i watch a lot of rokkitkit that's where i was introduced to those. very good, capable little boats. i enjoyed the video. cute doggy. he likes it out there
Hello mate, great set of videos and I’ve subscribed to your channel 👍 Can I ask if you still kayak fish or is it all SIB now? I’m considering a SIB but I do like the simplicity of a kayak - the SIB really appeals to me (Honwave or Hydrus) but I’m not sure if the phaff of owning a boat is really worth it? Thanks and keep putting the videos out 👍
Hello mate thanks that’s really appreciated 🙏. I still have a Galaxy Cruz which I might go out on again at some point but I moved away from Kayak fishing due to an injury which makes lifting a YAK onto roofs bars near impossible. You’re right YAKS can be simple if you steer away from carrying to much gear ( which I was always guilty of 🤣). SIB’s do come with their own set of challenges, ie they can be heavy, the inflating/deflating I found tedious, maybe because mine has a separate air deck that needs to be positioned just right, but that said once you’re out on the water in a SIB you can cover a lot of ground effortlessly, re drifting areas is quick and not tiring like padding back against the tide, plus they’re a lot of fun 😅. I certainly haven’t looked back😎
Maybe you can get him a life jacket ❤
Hi Interesting video What size stainless plate did you use (thick x width x length Ta Bob
Hi it was 3mm I’ll try and measure the rest when I can to the garage 👍
How you find these wheels pulling outboard
They are fine on concrete or hard sand but no good on soft sand.
@TheHopefulAngler yeah mine snapped pulling outboard wondering witch ones will be strongest for what I need for pal
@Mark-ej3yf these are on my wish list www.seamaxmarine.com/collections/launching-wheels
@TheHopefulAngler I have been looking at these alot of people are recommending them .might have to get them pal out this weekend new sib doesn't have wheels atm I been debating if I should fit some or not looked at launch trailers aswell but don't know how much of a faf that would be setting up and down
I’ve looked at all sorts of options I think the seamax wheels could be the solution, just need some pennies 🤣
do you call this a bad day at sea? ......sea looks glassy calm.......click bait?
Bad day at sea because of the engine problem, you can see this if you watch the whole video
I’d say that’s keeping size
Pure essendo sottile affronta bene le onde
wow, love those wheels! Going to check if I can find them for myself. Any chance you can add links on the wheels and the transducer mount? Thanks!
Hi the wheels are QuikLok transom wheels, the transducer mount I made myself
How far away from coast do you ride?
Not particularly far, a lot of the good fishing is quite close in where I go 👍
When theres no swells yea...
The boat can handle a bit of sea but I try and go out in the best conditions I can, I’ve fished in poor conditions many times but to be honest I prefer to be comfortable these days 😎
How many air chambers, and what do you say about this boat now? Im surprised, that its transom a lot weaker than saturn brand, which is much cheaper korean brand, but quality up to par. Also open bow is bad for ocean.
5 chambers, I love the boat it does everything I want. Weaker transom I’m not sure what you mean? Open bow is fine at sea, it’s a very dry ride as well 👍
Loving the videos Wayne, can I ask which cameras & video editing software you are using please.
Hi Thanks👍. I use a GoPro hero 5 black edition, which was on a chest harness in this video, I was also using an Insta 360 X3. For editing software I'm using NCH Video Pad Editor.
@@TheHopefulAngler Thanks so much for the mega quick reply, I fish from a Rib down in the Southwest of Devon & hope to start making a few videos. Tight lines
No problem, I’ll look out for them good luck 👍
Heartwarming. Thanks for showing them love and kindness.
Thanks no problem they’re all doing fine 👍
I'm not laughing, I'm howling...!! You're back out fouling the fish! Well done you lot too though! 👍
Great video Wayne you had plenty of fish well done
Thanks Davey 😀👍
Awesome footage Wayne, and a cracking day out, might have to invest in one of those 360 cameras, Cheers until the next time and hopefully soon. 👍🎣
Cheers mate, yeah hopefully soon🤞 The 360 is amazing mate I’m only just touching the surface of what you can do 😎
Cracking day, great company, plenty fish, enjoyed being back out as been a good 8 months, roll on next session 🎣🎣
It certainly was mate, I can’t wait until next time 😎🎣
Great video. We want to get up that way to fish later this year.
Thanks, it’s certainly worth it👍
Great video, you any happier with the Suzuki outboard?
Thanks, tbh it was working fine but I just don’t feel fully happy after the issues I’ve had !
@@TheHopefulAngler i heard good things about them to but the Mercury EFIs look very nice.
If I changed it I’d try a 15hp but not a Suzuki 🤣
Hi - great video. I’ve a discovery 330 like yours fishing Poole Harbour - I’d like to copy your design for the transducer mount - any chance you could share details? Also, the trailer looks great where did you get it from?
Hi 👋 Yeah no problem at all, it’s a 3mm aluminium plate all I did was cut it to size so it fitted over the four transom wheel bolts with a piece left lower down for the transducer to be mounted on then drilled four holes to line up with the bolts and the transom wheel then holds it in place. I found that it need a few trips out to get the exact depth position of the transducer, I suppose this is dependent on weight distribution and the size of the transducer. I’m sure the idea can be tweaked to suit different needs. The trailer was built by my father in law and is basically a box section steel frame with a marine ply floor which suits the cat hull perfectly 👍
I find it hard to get Trout to eat on the dropshot. I fish a lake with only rainbows browns and perch. For years I would catch a lot of trout on moving baits but no Perch. Then started dropshotting and now catch plenty of Perch but few Trout. Well done, I think this is a tough catch.
Thanks 🙂
