Kind of! This is "domestic" first class, which is different than both business and first class on international flights. For long flights, first class will be on business class seats, like trans continental, but for short stops like this one, the first class is on a separate product. It's not lie flat, which is the main difference between normal international business and domestic first class. It's kind of complicated. Usually, international business class is better than domestic first class, which doesn't make sense in the naming, but that's just how the industry works. I hope this helps!

These aren't the same as typical international or trans continental first class products. This is "domestic" first class, a different service from both business and international first class. Most US airlines don't offer a true first class product but just domestic first and business. In this case, American Airlines "business class" is much better than domestic first. It has its own pod and lie flight seating. But you're right, it's only available on international and trans continent flights with wide bodies and some larger single aisles. Good observation!

We were part of the first group of flights departing. Maybe they were understaffed, not totally sure. It was pretty surreal, either way, though!

It's a special view from the top! It's not exactly vertical, but it's relatively close. They were showing the incredible performance capabilities of the dreamliner at an airshow. So, no, not technically "vertical" but due to the angle and the really steep climb, it really looks like it.

That's exactly my opinion as well! If you're willing to travel light, the savings can be worth it, especially if a legacy airline has a monopoly over a route.

You have a fair point. The Max 8 is comparable on range moreso than the larger variant. However, I was basing this comparison on total capacity. The A321 has a larger capacity than the Max 8, so there's really no perfectly fair comparison. While I did compare them, they are designed for different routes, which is a reality that you mentioned. @@theavidaviator But its not, you only board last and can't pre select a seat, no changes, no missing the flights, if there are changes/cancellations you can only rebook back into basic economy. Some carriers allow carry on others do not. Other than that it is an economy seat. Videos like this confuse the public and then I have to educate them.

You're right. Those are most of the differences between standard economy and basic. These are many of the differences addressed within my video. These are still significant differences that deserve to be addressed even if the seat is the same. I appreciate your comment!
