Very sharp, nice contrasts, great photos. I like that it has the zone focus. I almost bought an EE-2, but luckily I noticed it does not have manual focus and I can see more EE-series’ photos are not so sharp.

Metering is perfect. Used it in bad weather in SE Asia with weather sealed lenses. Great cam. Autofocus points: You're absolute right! Who needs 60 autofokus points? NONE!

People compare Kodak TrI-X to Ilford HP5 Plus quite often, perhaps because they are rated @ iso 400 on the box. The fact is that these films are quite different to each other. You correctly mentioned the incredible lattitude of the HP5. Hp5 also has much better shadow detail retention that Tri-X, where Tri-X excels in mid tone and highlight separation. This is not surprising as Tri-X is inherently a higher contrast emulsion than HP5. Also, due to its lower contrast HP5 does better when pushed, particularly with a tuned stand development routine. I love them both. Horses for courses as they say.

When you cock the lever on the side of the camera, you are not cocking a shutter in the camera. The shutter on all the lenses is in the lens and are leaf shutters giving you flash sync at any shutter speed right up to max shutter speed of 1/400. In the camera body, you are cocking the mirror. I have watched youtubers complain about the weight of the camera saying it is not suitable outside the studio and had to be carried in a back pack then put on a tripod. Bullshit. I had been using a black rapid strap for my mamiya 645 pro tl that with 150 mm lens and motor drive weighs 5 lbs and this camera only 1 more at 6 lbs. There is no place to attach the BR safety strap so decided to try wearing the op tech camera strap cross body. No way I can hang his camera around my neck for more than a few minutes and not much longer over a shoulder. but cross body, either resting on my hip lightly supported or pressed against the hip, I have done several 3 or 4 hours walk abouts. When you swing it into position to shoot, the pressure around your back relieves some of the weigh, unlike around your neck where you support the entire 6 lbs. Another lens, back and film in a small bag over the other shoulder. I advance the film after each shot, not cock the shutter if not immediately taking a shot. That way, first, I can't accidentally fire a shot and second, know the mirror isn't cocked because can't see out the lens. I have learned that now that I can carry this camera longer, I have to bring at least 2 rolls of each film stock I have loaded in the 2 backs because, unlike a 35 mm with 36 shots, I only have 10.

One thing that screws me up with my rangefinder is, if I forget to take the lens cap off you can still see to focus and take a photo. You don't find out your missed shot until later when you develop the film. Where with an SLR you can't see your subject if the lens cap is on and therefore you avoid the costly and disappointing missed shot.
