That intro though. So cool 😍
On one breath? Wow.
When I was younger I literally found it inpossible to sing a proper 'Ee' vowel in or above the passaggio. I'll be 30 in about 2 months and I've just recently, within the past 6 months, started figuring out how to sing the Ee vowel on my higher notes.
Thank You, excellent work. Great explanations.

Bro .... He is not a DRAMATIC ..... C5 whaaaaaat .... That's impressive .... And he is not young ....
Too much talking get to the point already
The problem with classification of Dramatic tenor, is there are no roles for them. ( with the possible exception of otello). What we think of as dramatic roles are actually spinto parts ( in Italian opera). There is no such thing as a dramatic tenor. Only spintos of various weightd.
Solid lyric tenor here. Still have a long eay to go.
Falsetto is a false tone.
And you know how ?
Shit it's 10 years ago 😢 its Beautiful.
Head voice sound inhuman 🤯
Thanks so much 🙏 🇧🇷
So did Pavoratti sing mostly covered in each aria? Seems like he started out in recital not as covered. And do you have any examples of famous female opera singers from the last 30 years who sang mostly covered? For me, a novice, the covered sound is more elegant.

Opera singer here. I'm currently taking voice lessons with an operatic soprano. For now, she says that I'm a solid lyric tenor [(Bb2) C3-B4 (Eb5)]. Strong, full, warm, bright and ringing quality. Decent range but I have an undeveloped head register. I hate the passaggio. 😒
Your advice is as pure as Jiddu Krishnamurthy's conversations with his audience. Self examination via self enquiry is applicable to all endeavours of our lives including the endeavour of becoming truthful, original & pure singer.
"Vesti la Giubba" done with all sorts of different vibrato - very entertaining and informative. Vibrato is best controlled!
This was so so so very helpful!! I heard my vibrato for the first time ever!!!!
Your analysis is sadly lacking, and your arrogance comes through clearly 4:13 NOT FORCING is the key.
What do you mean by less talented singers? I know the context is classical music but you literally can't call every other genre's singing untalented Who cares if someone is using a higher larynx, every pop/rock singer does that all the time.
Да у него со слухом проблемы😮тоже мне Заморское чудо😢
excellent video, with very musical and pedagogical examples and teachings. A great singer , able to perform in different genres and techniques!
Maestro Tenelli, I continue to come back regularly to your videos on 'appoggio' technique to stay fresh in my 'understanding. As you said, words do not teach, only life experience truly teaches. Yet you give such an understandable concept that it stays in consciousness (at least for me), which helps immensely when actually practicing the technique. Also, your demonstrations of appoggio vs. other support methods, has helped me understand, more consciously, what I've done in the past that often left me much more inconsistent in vocal production. Even with a wonderful voice teacher, for decades, finding you (some years at this point) and your wonderful teaching of appoggio technique, has been a 'revelation' for me. To say I'm grateful is an understatement....Thank you!
Thank you. This is the best video I’ve seen so far to teach about tenor fach
Excelente canto como la vieja escuela...
Maestro, Tenelli, that was a wonderful presentation. And because I've listened to so many of your videos, I was really understanding the ideas and concepts as you explained. I discovered you about three to four years ago, and up to that time I had a very good voice teacher (classically oriented) for a very very long time. As a tenor, I made good progress over the years, but in all honesty, I never really grasped, or was consistent with a solid 'way' of support, even with all of my teacher's knowledge and education (Julliard). However, finding you on YT, almost magically, a short number of years ago, as explained, began a true transformation with my being exposed to the 'appoggio' technique of support. Admittedly, and with my years of instruction, it did not happen overnight (you had actually said in a video that even with an experienced singer a transition could take perhaps two years). So, as I committed to understanding and practicing 'appoggio' on and on, I began to make that transition to a whole new vocal level. And I can't tell you the joy that that has caused for me in my singing. I still come back to your instructional videos to further remain fresh in my knowledge of appoggio. Since you, I've seen here and there, some other teachers on YT explaining appoggio, but no one, to me, has that depth of teaching this quite like you do, some of which may be that you're Italian and the 'appoggio' concept is from the Italian tradition. One last thing: though number one, for me, is the Italian tenor classical sound, I can and do 'switch hit' to more relaxed styles also, in say standards/great American songbook, etc. And yes, appoggio technique has helped immensely there too. I truly can't thank you enough, maestro Tenelli. My warmest regards and respect. Tracy Lindsey
great sir🎉
Ни о чём, неужели не слышно, что у Ди Стефано просто уехал звук, какая уж ту опора.
I believe I have chiaro-scuro from A2 to E4 but I can't sing these notes with chiaro-scuro with the larynx in the same position, and that if I do, I sing like a bari-tenor (only constricted chest voice). I can reach a F#4 without chiaro-scuro, tho. I think I have a baritone choir voice with a smaller low range notes.
Mind-blowing, thank you. You might be the only one on CZcams that actually demonstrates it.
