      Hiya!, I personally dont see the point in going over 120cm for an inverted, the power and accuracy gains over that are negligible in my opinion. maybe worth creating a 140cm monster cannon if you do blue water stuff and planning on hitting tuna and doggies... but for 99% of situations, id say 110cm barrel MAX. Im trying to put in a list of materials from a retailer, as the supplies we buy are in bulk unfortunately.

    • @dustsnow666
      @dustsnow666 Před 2 měsíci

      Heeey buddy! Thanks for the comments. I never use more than 10 or 15 cm on an invert, as it defeats the purpose IMO. If you want more punch use a thicker shaft, which I suspect you are using if a slip-tip is fitted. When I hunt in very dynamic environments I trend to use a shaft so short that the flipper is kept tugged in by the shooting line over the muzzle. On the other hand on open water I trend to go a bit longer, just came back from Sicily and was using a 15cm overhang (7mm) shaft. Stay safe

    • @dustsnow666
      @dustsnow666 Před 7 měsíci

      Hi Mate, the defining factor for lenght is always the shaft, not the speargun. the shaft is always longer than the gun. so you need to buy a specialized shaft that can be split (Roffe Euro Traveler for example), look it up. taking off the handle and re-fitting too many times can damage the orrings, resulting in leaks, i would only do it for maintenance, ballasting or in special occasions safe hunting Ramsey

      Power (load) is more important than length. end of the day you can rig 4x pairs of 18mm bands on a 90 cm invert roller if you are crazy enough! ha ha! Generally speaking if you are using 14mm bands you can get away with using kitesurfing glass loaded plastic pulleys like the ones from MVD. But if you start playing with 3 pairs of 16mm bands I would recommend Harkey 16mm block pulleys. or Tintanall invert roller pulleys

      Hi hi, thanks for watching. I would need to know what specifically you are targeting but I would go as follows for a 100: 1x set of 16mm for the Primary (pre-tensioned) rubbers, plus 2x sets of 14 (small ID), This will drive very accurately a 7mm short overhang shaft. OR 3x sets of 16mm standard ID rubbers to drive a 7.5mm shaft. This setup is a bloody lightning bolt and is what I use in my 110 builds. Piece of advise. Try to source very stiff hardened carbon steel shaft for this application. Shaft wobble can be solved also with a stiffer shaft, instead of an increase of diameter and weight. Picasso Gold carbon steel shaft es are in my opinion the best in the market. Thanks for watching

      Sorry, I forgot to add, the advantage of 3x stages (pairs of rubbers) is that you can fine tune the power on the go if needed. Just take off one pair off, if there is a risk of hitting rocks. Or drop 2x pairs for a hole shot

    • @dustsnow666
      @dustsnow666 Před rokem

      Sorry for the delay, we were in Madeira fishing!, In terms of accuracy, there is a LOT of debate Out there so I will speak from anecdotal experience here. I don’t think I will ever go back to a traditional setup for clear waters. The low recoil and accuracy of the invert roller has no match for long distance shots. Make sure you use a proper spear circa 7mm or above. For thus particular gun we are using a 6.7mm spear because it’s only a 90cm barrel. If your spear is too thin or soft; it will wobble and loose both power and accuracy. Reports of bad accuracy with rollers and specially invert rollers are related to overpowered things shafts in most cases. FYI, for winter fishing or low visibility, I use a traditional roller. It doesn’t make much sense to use an invert in those conditions unless you are shooting huge fish. We are reef hunters mainly. Thanks for watching
