I really appreciate that you give people an idea what they're getting into with different piercings. It's easy to get caught up in how cool something looks and not consider what it's going to be like living with it (or in these cases what type of damage they can do and how to minimize it if possible.)

I appreciate your video but I think pictures of the anatomy you're talking about would be a lot easier to follow along.

I recently got a dermal on my face done and was told to use qtips by my piercer to clean it to clean it but i did some research recently and found out its not good to use qtips for dermals because the fabric gets trapped and builds up under the piercings and that its better to soak it wit salt water/saline solution so i think ill start soaking it instead of the qtips

You know what’s insane? My 8 gauge ampallang hurt less than my 16g septum. All I did with the ampa was breath out heavily and grip the table. My septum made me say fuck and start crying.😂😂😂

Is faux rook considered a flat if so I have it and it wasn’t bad getting pierced but the after was very painful it’s been months and it still hurts and it’s been months but it probably didn’t help I got a conch done too right before it I have to say I have 31 piercings and this is the only one that still hurts

This was a happy accident for me. My original plan for my piercing was a tragus, but it turns out I'm a member of the tiny tragus club, so that was a pass. I said I'm here, I'm in the chair, I'm ready for a piercing, what can we do? She looked at my ear and went Well, we can do your faux rook! I went okay! Let's do it! I've seen your other FR video, along with some other piercers so I knew something about it and wasn't going in totally blind, but the pain. Oh my Lord, your soul leaves your body. It's a cool piercing, guys.. This is your sign to get it :)

I have a double rook. I personally found it to be a pretty easy piercing for me. It was not as fun for the piercer. Luckily, she's a superstar and did an amazing job of getting two in that small space. I also found it an easy heal. What I do find is that I have a heck of a time keeping it clean. I am really good at keeping my piercings clean but this one has been a challenge. Maybe a single rook would be better but I can see that a faux rook would have much of the aesthetic benefits of a rook while being easier to keep clean.

thank you for this video! i did mine like 5 days ago, the worst con for me is for sure that i cannot pronounce some of the letters correct as im polish i need my tongue to stick to the roof of my mouth while saying C or S, and the balls make it impossible so i lisp but im opting to heal it and then change balls to disks or something more flat to let my tongue sit on top, otherwise the piercing is the best i have by far but it hurt muuuuuch worse than nipples at this point tbh

Do you think there us a certain age thats too old to get into this fueld? I worked in dentistry for years an at one point i even worked at claires doing puercings as a teenager. I gave up my career to be a stay at home mom and i miss working with people and kids/teens that was my specialty in dentistry. Im 43 and think this would be a perfect field to go into as it blends a little with everything ice done and would be so cool to fet into but am i too old, lol. Alot of this stuff the i fection control and sterilization and working with sharps and small objects just rolls right over from dentistry really but truly honestly would anyone hire a 40 something, i mean i think it would be a comfort for people to come in and get someone like me that has always been good at keeping patirnts calm and gettung them throygh uncomfortable processes but dont spare my feelings am i too old 😂

Question.. once my piercing is healed can I take it out temporarily while I eat so it’s more comfortable for me? Will it have a risk of closing?

Great advice Davo 😁 I’m defo of the opinion that doing thorough research on the piercing and piercer is really helpful- calms my nerves having a better idea of what to expect and also reassures me I’m in safe hands 😌 The rest is just: Close eyes, Grit teeth, Breeeathe 🧘🏻‍♀️ and few seconds later, you have the piercing you were so psyched about! 😃🙌🏼🎉

Awesome advice! One question I have. Is it ok to still workout while there healing? Is a couple days enough or do I need to wait like a couple weeks - months? Would putting bandages on them before I go lift weights & workout be enough? Again awesome video & Thanks for the info!

Is it bad to keep it covered with tattoo wrap or tattoo tape

Hello! I have a piercing that I’ve had for 1.5-2 yrs and it was pierced at 8g I believe. High lobe/mid helix area that I had a glass plug in for almost a year to start. Then we switched to 3 seamless rings to get the stacked look which was the goal but I got irritation bumps and had to switch back to the plug. The plug kept falling out so we switched to a 8g CBR and it’s been months and the irritation bump is still there, it’s only calmed down a little bit over several months. It doesn’t look angry but i was wondering if I should just retire the piercing or keep trying. I don’t mind it but the rest of my jewelry is rose gold treadless labret studs so it really does not match 🥲

Shen men （神門）is located within the inner triangle of the upper cartilage, right next to faux rook.

I have a vertical double on my right and a horizontal triple on my left. I wear glasses and two months after my triple, I found out I needed hearing aids. They are now five months old and still pretty angry some days lol. I give my ears a break every few days by not wearing my hearing aids. I want to add one more to the right side, but I do have to change the location of where I wanted it. Overall, these are pretty versatile piercings, though.

If it’s an expensive piece of jewelry like gold etc that went down the drain I disinfect them and put it back on my boyfriend had to retrieve some more then once lol

👁️👁️ immediately removes hand from my nose ring to see if it still hurts after getting an irritation bump 😭

Glasses made this a complete no go for me, but I feel that it’s an uncommon piercing not many people have. Add a unique threadless end, and it looks completely individual.
