Sadly have a set. They’re designed to be palm shifted, not finger. Rest your whole palm in the centre of the shifter and then select with a hand movement. Not so bad. But landscape intensive.
Thanks for the good demonstration
Thanks so much! Someone gave me a nice Trek bike with this kind of shifter, which I've never used or encountered before. I was completely stumped how to change gears once I had clicked through with the small levers. Thought maybe it was broken. Video was a life saver!
How do u adjust the brake, it's not holding?
If the unit is not functioning properly DO NOT USE IT. Field destroy it and dispose of it so no one can use it.
Thank you so much for this video because I was so stupid how to use my specialized shoes 😂 thanks 🙏
I see this shifter still be popular to use in china. Sure for entry user or for the cheaper bike daily use
FYI: The screws that attach the front fender to the fork near the front axle are 10-32 stainless steel.
Bless you man couldnt adjust mine.
Thank you for watching! We're so glad it worked.
Which shifter is this? Shimano sti? Advent?

Thanks for your help in setting up the bike
You are most welcome. Please let us know if you have any questions.
I have bought 2 of these bikes over the years and each time I found the shifters installed on Backwards..
Hello and thank you for your purchase. That's not something we've ever seen or heard of, and I apologize for the inconvenience. If you can email us - customercare@vilanobikes.com and include a copy of the invoice and a photo, we'd love to take a look. Please do not ride your bike until it has been properly assembled and tuned and has had a safety inspection performed by a certified bike mechanic. Thank you.
@@VilanoBikes Oh no worries, I corrected the issue myself by reversing them. Overall I really enjoy the bikes, since I bought 2 of them over the years.. I am a bike mechanic so I know how to put the bikes together..
Glad you like them. If you see it again, please do email us as this is the first time I've heard of this issue, and we prefer to address issues. Thanks for writing back. Be well @@TheBrainSquared
So when doing this the slack has to come from the barrel adjuster instead of the brake lever.
Before making any adjustments, the barrel should be screwed in all the way. Any slack in the cable should be eliminated by pulling on the cable and tightened down. If there is any slack after, you can eliminate with the barrel adjuster. As always, take your bike to a professional bike mechanic for regular safety inspections.
which front derailleur and cranks are compatible with ST-A073? According to shimano table only one FD-A073 and FC-A073.. would other setups with triple work? e.g. 48-38-28 with other tourney FD?
Thanks for writing in to us. Unfortunately this is hard to answer without actually trying the parts on the bike. Angles, alignment, and measurements of the frame are not universal. I am sorry we cannot assist.
How many teeth are there on the smallest cassette?
Dónde las fabrican? Hacen envíos a México?
Están fabricados en China y por el momento están agotados. Si bien podemos enviar a México, es muy caro. Traducido por Google.
What is the max tire size that will safely fit the frame and fork? Lots of bumps and potholes in my area!
The tires for for the Shadow 3.0 are 25mm. They can accommodate slightly wider tires, but likely nothing greater than 28mm. I suggest taking your bike to a shop as they will have a greater selection of tire offerings and can better set you up. With a road bike, it's always best to avoid potholes, obstructions, and bumps if you can. Tires, and in some cases the frame are intended to be ridden on flat surfaces. Good luck.
Thank you for your reply, that was helpful.
Excellent. Have a great day. @@enriquezamora3453

@@VilanoBikesi ordered a new one from amazon thank you though
I hope this video can help me
I hope so too. Once you are finished, we always recommend taking your bike to a professional bike mechanic for tuning and regular safety inspections.
Thanks mate much appreciated. Im building a retro mad Cannondale R700. I could have bought more expensive shifters. I stripped a pair if these in mint condition from an old bike. Im using em on this new beast. Why not? They do a great job. Plus i wont need a bell eh? Those loud 📢🔊📢🔊 Clicking noises will let everyone know im in the area eh mate...Thanks for the video. Much appreciated.🎉😂
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching. There should not be loud clicking noises when you're shifting. They click, but it should be soft. I'd suggest having them be checked out by a professional bike mechanic to see what's going on. We always recommend having regular safety inspections w/ your bike mechanic to help ensure your bike is in good working condition. Good luck with the build.
This bike was really easy to assemble czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Awesome, thank you
Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for watching.
Was a little apprehensive when buying this with the few negative reviews on here, but this was exactly the kind of bike I was looking for. czcams.com/users/postUgkxn_jUDSlprMIeubd9rHdEAnv59nKfjcKv I plan to ride it on paved roadways and trails, and wanted a "Grocery Getter" so to speak. After receiving it (without any damage), I had it out of the box, and fully assembled in about 30 minutes. I did not have to look at the manual, and I'm glad because I did look at it after I got it together, and it looks like it's a manual for several different styles. I did have to adjust the breaks and gear shifters, but that's been my experience with every bike I've owned. There was one review in particular that made me nervous, saying it was not meant for someone 6'4", it was too short. Well I'm 6'5" (230lbs) with a 36" inseam, and can tell you this bike fits perfectly, granted the seat is in it's highest safe position. I've only had it for 3 days so far, and if things change I will update my review, but I put 26 miles on it so far, and it rides like a dream. Very comfortable seating position. The front suspension is good for the occasional rock or bump you hit on asphalt, but this bike is not made to be taken off road, and I'm OK with that. I was particularly happy to see the wheels were trued perfectly. I was expecting to have to take them in and have them trued at a local bike shop, as I've had to do with all my past bike purchases, but in this case they were already in great shape. For the money, this is an awesome bike.
Do you NEED pedal grease
Yes, you really need pedal grease, and a pedal wrench plus all of the tools to properly tune and adjust your bike. Even if you do tune your bike yourself, we strongly urge you to take your bike to a professional for a safety inspection prior to use, and then regularly thereafter. A bike mechanic will be able to help you keep your bike in good working condition.
is that a 49 or 53 cm frame?
It's likely a 53, but I cannot tell you for sure b/c it was made a while ago. We try to always make videos with a 53. Thank you for watching.
When I put the front tire on, it seems to be not in the center of the fork. Is that by design?
It should be in the center. Be sure that the fork is turned properly to look like the photos on the listing, so the cables run properly. If the fork hole is not centered, then please submit a warranty request here: www.vilanobikes.com/pages/warranty-registration
@@VilanoBikes After wiggling things around I was able to align and center the tire on the fork. Thank you for the reply!

Idk it may be only mine, but I had a bad experience with these shifters, bro at first it was hard af and after a while it was so hard it used to go around the bar when I when I went up to low gears
That's not something I've heard of before. We don't suggest riding the bike in that condition, and urge you to not ride it, take it to a bike shop for assistance.
If you convert it back to a single speed freewheel would you need to loosen the cog and lock ring or can you leave it tight? Thanks for your help
Wanted help with newer shifters. The cable stop is towards the front of the shifter more. But thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks 🙏🏼 helpful
My bike didn't come with alen wrench, front disc brake screws, no bell, no lock just a key to nothing, I still have a bike I can't ride.
Our bikes don't come with tools, bells, or locks, nor are they advertised as coming with these items (with the exception of some Amazon listings - we've asked Amazon to fix the listings as they periodically mention a bell and lock but Amazon has been unable to resolve this random issue). Our bikes are factory direct and must be assembled and tuned to use. The disc brake screws are in the parts box that comes with the bike. If you are missing anything that comes w/ the bike, please register your bike here: www.vilanobikes.com/pages/warranty-registration then submit a warranty claim so we can assist. Thank you.
Hello sir i install my front tyre and some sound is coming of disc brake and my brakes are hydraulic

Thank you! I thought my new bike didn't have a saddle tilt adjustment at all. But obviously the one bolt patent was just stuck.
Thanks for watching! I'm so glad it was helpful.
It's not a bad idea doing it this way. On my ebike you have to disassemble quite a bit to get the cable from the motor free to actually be able to remove the wheel completely. There is NO nearby connector that you can free you have to disconnect the cable all the way at the hub box.
Assembly went well but am I the only one struggling with the front/rear reflectors not fitting on right? Rear: the clamp doesn't wrap around the seat tube enough for me to tighten the screw. I've had to bend it and it still won't reach. Am I missing something?
