Sir, you are utterly and completely out of your mind. I have never seen such a complete horrific display of incompetence and child like behavior from a grown up man. Never before. You should be ashamed of yourself. You display a complete lack of patience, understanding and knowledge, while at the same time being so ill-tempered, that you should first go home and sleep it off, then followed by a trip on foot to the local post office, where you should surrender your driving license to the Royal British Mail, followed by a minimum 10 year long weekly session at a psychiatrist. I would deem it dangerous to let you loose on the street, never mind any public road, inside a vehicle. Get your act together. Now. Or end up in a jail. Fantastic cars…. I parked my finicky, expensive-to-maintain 2008 S80 and bought a 30 year old 940 junker wagon with 300,000 miles on it. Everything works, drives like new, runs just fine on cheap gas, cheap tires, simple cheap maintenance and never gives me a lick of trouble. I load it up with my photography equipment and travel all over the Midwest US, averaging around 30,000-40,000 miles a year. So far this old Redblock Volvo is comfortable, reliable, robust and overall seemingly unstoppable! I’m in love with this era Volvos!

I have three of them in the family. The 2w013 one I have just bought with 193k on the clock has been looked after, and cheap enough to keep mobile. The side step is not standard fit, so stop whinging and act like a sensible person. Spend some money on the car and learn to repair it yourself. Plenty of help available on forums. Most problems are cheap battery with a low voltage.

Got the distinct impression you weren't all that impressed with this car. I'm just looking at some reviews, to see if I should buy one. I think you might have helped my decision. I think you might have bought a dog, that car did everything but bark. The problem is, buying a car that's at the end of it's life, is not going to end well. These cars are great when you have just paid £45,000 for it, but it wont last long. land rover is just chinglish for "load of crap. I've known several pretty well off people buy range rovers, who eventually had to sell, because they couldn't afford to keep ploughing money into it any longer. Thanks for the laugh.

Bundle of scrap ! typical land rover first repair bill on a FL2 on 100k miles with a duratec diesel engine £2,800k, two years later and £7430 down gearbox re done , turbo re done intercooler re done , etc. its become a labour of love and turning to rust in full view whilst parked on the driveway and yes the engine management light still has a mind of it's own usually on the way to the MOT centre ! buy Japanese Land rover has always been a triumph of marketing over engineering that's why the company provide them free to Royalty and footballers !
