There are three versions of this compilation: 2000, 2010 and 2015, each one differs from the others. The 2000 remasters of the original mixes, the 2009 remasters of the original mixes and the 2015 full remixes, made from scratch. I don't see any point of buying the second 2010 version, because there's nothing new as far as the 2009 remasters have been widely spread on the CDs of that era. But the first and the third versions are unique and worth buying.

I had originally bought this for my brother's birthday just after its original release and he really enjoyed it. At the time (tighter budget) I didn't find it essential, so I skipped it, but ended up with a copy just before the remastered one. When 1+ was released, I picked it up as soon as I could, I had bootleg DVDs of the videos that were happily retired at that time.

The Red & Blue albums were my introduction to the Beatles, a classmate had brought them to school, and I was hooked. I was gifted both for either my birthday or Christmas, so long ago I forget, that was somewhere between 1978-1980. When they released the catalog on CD in 1987, I was disappointed when I heard that these would not be released. I was so happy in 1993, I bought them the same week they came out and have picked up the "remaster" as well. I am looking forward to the most recent expanded version as well, I am kind of a completest at times.

I must admit I am a bit of a completest, I have both volumes of "The Capitol Albums" and this "US Albums" box set. I even picked up an obvious but well-done pressed disc fake of "Introducing the Beatles" and "At the Hollywood Bowl". I love the packaging on this box set but I was disappointed with it because of not being the original mixes, I also skipped the "Japanese Albums" set because of more or the same.

WOW, there are so many mistakes it almost seems like thet did it on purpouse or were just half asleep when puting it together! Thanks for the videos, not only educational but entertaining as well!😄

I found a stereo box set at a flea market and I thought it was too good to be true and it was. I asked my dad if I can buy it he said sure so went up to the seller and before I bought I checked the cds and the printing on the box and I spotted that it was a fake by the apple being very dark and not light green. Looked at the Cd and it just felt cheap thank god I saw this video before I spent 87 dollars thanks man you saved my 87 bucks from scumbags

Man! I just got that same set yesterday and had to pay $100! Wish i started collecting a lil earlier than around 8-9 months ago. Or got an copy at walmart, sadly never found one at walmart so i just went and got it at my local 2nd & Charles since that was only place by me that had it.

Better album without Phil Spector additions to every song ..taking off layers of sounds let's the songs breathe..less is more. Didn't like original alb save for a few tracks. The 1st anniversary edition was better this one corrects all of the other 2

The inlay of the album being on the left instead of the right indicates it could have been Paul's idea with him being left handed? Grrr! lol

Hi Mike. I just found you tonight on CZcams with this video. I couldn't agree with you more. I think the original is wonderful and having it all these years I know the order of the songs as they're playing. I was all excited when Let It Be... Naked was released. Unfortunately though many of the tracks are really well done, it didn't have the same feeling as the original album. I missed the chatter and John's humorous intro to "Two Of Us". I miss "Dig It" and "Maggie Mae" book ending "Let It Be". I missed "Danny Boy" on the end of "One After 909". I miss the chatter at the open of "Get Back" & John's thank you at the end. George's guitar through out the song "Let It Be" is tremendous including the solo. The only song missing is "Don't Let Me Down" which I have on the Past Masters disc. I haven't gotten the Deluxe Box Set yet. Do you have a review of Giles Martin's remix? I haven't seen any review from you on here. Thanks again. I subscribed to you.

I bought my then 8 year old grandson a fake only because when I was 8, I trashed all my Beatles vinyl., and yes ,he has scratched the crap out of it.

Deciding whether to pick this set up. I've got the mono and stereo box sets but as an American, a lot of the earlier albums just don't sound right in terms of the tracks. I grew up listening to the Capitol albums. It's still available at the Beatles store which I know I can be assured I'll get a real set. Buying it would purely be a nostalgic purchase as I already have all the songs. Would be an easier decision if the price was lower, $200 though isn't quite that bad considering I paid $275 each for the mono and stereo cd sets.

I won’t do a detailed comparison of my fake to yours here, partly because it’s more work than I’m interested in doing, and partly because your constant effusions of moral disgust just got a little too much for me. Prolegommenally, I can only compare the outsides of the packaging as I have never removed mine from the shrink wrap. Generally, where there are differences between the fake and the genuine covers, mine often, but not always, follow the fakes. For example, the back of Past Masters does not have the track listing error or the / yours does. And my Revolver fake spells McCartney’s name correctly, but not Harrison’s. Generally, where fuzziness can be seen on your fake, mine appears sharp, though many (but not all) of the photo reproductions evince the same color issues as your fake. I’ve noticed that my fakes commonly lack the Capitol label present on your genuine, and that there are many minor layout differences, such as rearrangement of various icons. However, at the bottom of the mini docs disc the wording suggests it may be due to US/UK packaging differences rather than reproduction errors. Your genuine reads, “Manufactured by Capitol Records”, while your and my fakes read, “(c) 2009 Apple Corps Ltd.” “I’m curious what that Chinese says.” It is the name of a Chinese company called in English QC International.

It seems not all fakes are created equal. As to the slip cover, while my fake does have the little square to the left of the T, it lacks most of the other telltales you describe. It doesn’t have the FBI warning and neither the shading of the green print nor the apple appear noticeably darker, albeit I don’t have a genuine article to compare to. In fact, aside from the little square, the only noticeable difference I can find from your genuine slip cover is that on mine the square around the “E Exempt from Classification” at the bottom is noticeably faded. As to the smell, mine smells just fine. As for the box itself, while the inner divider on mine appears to be of the less sturdy construction, the gloss is quite “sheenful”, the pull ribbons are securely fixed, there is no serration around the print edges, the half apple on the back is of much better quality than on your fake, and I do indeed find the website and trademark notice below the apple image on the back. In short, the only telltale on my box is the flimsy divider. I picked up my fake in Shanghai back in 2010; I knew it was a fake when I bought it (most everything in Shanghai was), but the genuine article wasn’t available. I’ve watched several videos on fake boxed sets now, and it would appear I managed to snag a much higher quality fake than those described in the videos I’ve seen. Oh, yeah, and my fake came with a reproduction of the Apple USB thrown in for free. I’m going to watch your video on the contents now.

very interesting...i had a mono box from amazon which was a fake...they sent me a new one and told me to keep the fake one...there were many, many mistakes in the language used in the booklet - that is what alerted me to it.

The thing that enrages me MORE than the fake box set being sold to unsuspecting people is how the online shopping company allows people to keep merchandise and get a refund. This encourages people to demand refunds for anything and everything they purchase online. All of us pay for this stupidity. The maker of this video is one of millions who owes us money.

Thank you for your overview of Let It Be Naked. Worth it for the composite mix of ‘Don’t Let Me Down’. I welcomed other modern day fixes too especially duff piano chord in ‘Let It Be’ itself. I would like to see Paul and Ringo dub onto George’s ‘All Things Must Pass’ as featured on Anthology 3. I believe the Anthology series featured composite mixes too? It’s a pity that The Beatles didn’t nail a decent version of ‘Across The Universe’ during the Let It Be/Get Back sessions. Your episode has me reaching for Let It Be Naked right now. Thank you.

Just got this box set from Ebay and freaked out realising there's counterfeits. Ive been had before with the Pink Floyd counterfeits, and I'm so glad that mine is used, but real! Its such an amazing box set and I'd be heartbroken if I was stuck with a fake. This video really helped!

I am so glad that I bought the US albums I love it no matter what mixes Apple decides to use being one of the biggest Beatles fans ever I will be happy with anything that gets released I don’t care what it is the great thing is you get the essential stuff in the US boxer like thank you girl the harmonica tag at the end which you don’t get in the mono mix only in the stereo mix and I love the fall start and stop and I’m looking through you from rubber soul it’s great and the Beatles story is great too and this whole box that is really awesome I still plan a lot.

Do you happen to know if the japanese edition of the black box (with the large OBI strip on the side) has been bootlegged also? I just bought a sealed copy on eBay and i'm a little concerned about it.

I just bought a used set that doesnt have ANY of these errors, but the image quality seems slightly sub par, and the digipaks are a bit less glossy than my individually purchased copy of Let It Be. Im scared the set isnt authentic, but i dont know.

Hey Mike; I just came across your Chanel and this great review of The Beatles US albums. I just got my set today, and unfortunately, it was a fake. Sending it back tomorrow, but wanted to know where you got yours and the most reliable place to pick up a copy that’s authentic. Thanks ahead of time!

Just curious. Does the quality of the cds sound different ? I know it’s not what we paid for but if we found a reproduction real cheap is the sound still there ? Thank you
