Vintage Motorcycle: Honda CM450 Rear Drum Brake Adjustment
The rear drum brake on the Honda CM450 occasionally requires some adjustment as the shoes start to wear down. This is a very simple adjustment to make, and usually doesn't even require tools to complete.

After installing new rear brake shoes, or making adjustments to the rear brake linkages, you may find the brake light engages a little to early, or perhaps stops lighting up all together. A quick readjustment to the rear brake light switch will usually take care of the issue.

Vintage Motorcycle: Honda CM450 Carburetor Disassembly and Cleaning

Once in a while, a good carburetor cleaning will be necessary to maintain optimal performance of your motorcycle. There may be a lot of little parts involved, but just keep track of where they come from, take your time and everything should work out smoothly. Note: I use B12 Chem-Dip to soak the carbs and an air compressor to blow them out, however, it is more common and faster to use a can of ...

Out standing , you explained it very professionally and you had a clear voice, you absolutely nailed this video... ❤ I wouldn't even check out another video you show the whole Layout..... On 57 ex-military Navy , I worked on the P3 C-130 turboprops in 1985 1986 desert Storm naval security Force, and then in 87 I train with the Marines I was GRF ground reaction force second unit. God bless you my brother somebody has brains thank God
Eu uso uma suspensão dessas, aqui no Brasil.
Damn dude... Slow down. Can't keep up
Thanks this vid really helped me
I figured it out myself, but wasn't confident enough to pull the trigger. Thanks to you, I can now finish my daunting task of greasing thr spark plug boots! 😂
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I did one carb at a time and taped all the parts to a piece of cardboard where I could make some notes and draw a few diagrams.
Please
Can you give the design
Thanks, straight to the point.
Thanks a lot for this video.
I am missing the small o ring on the accelartor pump on mine. What is the measurement of it? I dont want to spend alot of money on a kit when i only need a single o ring.
Id put bricks or something under the tires, just incase of jack failure
Thanks to you, I now know that I can actually replace the broken preload on my xct fork, whereas a local bike shop told me that I would need to buy a new fork cause the preload would be pressed in instead of screwed in. I ordered the correct preload and the corresponding wrench for a little fraction of the prize of a new fork. Thank you very much.
This system looks much easier than my Thermalright Peerless assassin cooler. The one I got was very poorly made. There were supposed to be alignment holes drilled in the brackets for 3 different CPU's to make the tower screws line up. Mine had one big slot and it would not center and I couldn't get the screws on all sides to thread. This is sad that they ship such poorly made parts and wasted all my time. I have the Ventoo on the way. It looks like a much better alignment system.
Is the Nighthawk 450 the same as the Rebel 450 motor? I have an '87 Rebel that needs new intake boots installed.
thanks for this nice video,i was wondering where i could find a 10 or 10 1/2 inch eye to eye for my 1976 honda cb400f that has a 12 1/2 which is too high for me lol"thanks.....
Cam shaft tensioner
You put fresh oil IN the new oil filter?
To the point and clear
Glad that I am not the only one that had difficulty figuring this out
Thanks a bunch for this!🎉
Can you send the inventor files?
the plastic bit that you use a wooden dowel and screwdrivers to get out, it much simpler just to turn it with a pair of pliers and the tab pops out all by itself.
is the stl available?
I need a PhD in nuclear physics for this

what size spring seals are on this ?
I just bought a used bike with this suspension. many thanks for your video, time, and effort.
I bought a bicycle with this fork and it doesnt have this 1:41 element inside but it works, what is this part called?
Don't know if this is still relevant to you, but I will explain it anyway. Also I don't know your experience level, so I will go rather detailed. There are some variants of this fork. Some have two steel springs inside some have a spring and a dampener (the part you indicated), but both tubes should be populated by either of the two. A dampener basically is used for slowing down the speed that the spring contracts and extends with, e.g. through increased friction or flow of a liquid through a tiny opening (there are many ways to achieve this, some rather simple, others more complex). It also takes energy out of the system, which means if your spring was oscillating, with each oscillation the dampener would take out a bit of energy and translate it to heat, making the next oscillation cycle a little shorter in length. <So a part missing from the fork is rather odd. Did you buy it used or new?> Actually on suntour's webiste you can find the construction plans of those forks including the part numbers of individual parts. Make sure that the name of your fork matches with the name of the fork specified in the document. Be careful: a comma used in the name in the document might indicate that the document specifies 2 slightly different forks. e.g. the document for the "SF16-XCT-DS-HLO-29-80,100" specifies two similar forks with 80mm travel on one and 100mm travel on the other fork, thus the name of your exact fork will either end on 80 or 100, but not both, eg: SF16 XCT DS HLO 29 T 100 (that's what might be written on the fork somewhere). Variations in the parts can depend on the exact model of the fork, the wheel size... For the fork named above, intended for a 29 inch wheel, the number for the dampener would be FUN050-14 (don't ask me how they came up with that part number😂). The parts can be found online for sale.
Perfect. Extremely helpful
This was useful to me
do you have stl files as I am working on this project
Well done
Are the Rebel 450 carbs that same?
also its funny how every single person in the comments forks are broken!😂
thanks abunch mate, my little brother's forks are not working well, so ill take em apart to see whats the problem
So adjust both intake and exhaust valve clearance at the same time for each cylinder?
Cool, was trying to imagine a usb cable roller with an one handed mechanism. This might help.
Hands down best video on this carburetor
My step dad taught em this but I needed a refresher, this was easy to follow thanks! Also raised up lol sir I’m squeezing under there either way lol
My hood latch broke on my ford how I open my hood
Great video good description of process rarely get videos like this well done
is it suitable for 29T with mt200?
If you’re talking about mt200 shimano hydraulic brakes, then yes, that’s what I have on this fork
also fill the filter with oil befor putting it on
I have a 03 focus wagon I remove the filter first there is an old trick for less of an oil mess on hands there are gloves or pop a hole in the center of the bottom of filter first befor spinning it off
sir buy yourself a 15mm wrench or ratchet with a 15 mm socket right tool for the right job do not use your torque wrench
Been looking all over the place to find out what tools I need for this project. If anyone can give me the list of tools needed it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much man
It’s better to jack up on the control arm and put the jack stand in the slot behind the pinch rail
Damn fast forward habits instead of a simple cut and dissolve.
