I was in the pre-order crowd for the original Mini. It seemed pretty good for a while, but then I started experiencing a mix of extruder and hot end problems. I installed the Bondtech extruder and heat break and things were much better. I did modify the heat break installation (used a small soft mouth clamp) and also added three slightly longer stainless cap screws so it was easier to adjust and set. I'm probably going to try the Slice Engineering hotend upgrade kit next.

      It's currently down to costs. Each unit is over £$100. Would be gas based.

    Thanks for this tutorial. Can I ask you how did you power the screen?

    • @colinhill
      @colinhill Před 11 měsíci

      It's a DSI screen that connects via thin ribbon cable to one of the Pi ribbon cable outputs.

    Bonjour, ou peut-on trouver les fichiers des entretoise arrière svp ?

    I am currently following your idea, I have purchased the materials and built the Metod. Did you brace the back of the unit with a plank of wood by any chance? Thank you in advance.

    • @colinhill

      I didn't need to brace the back. But I made sure it was connected to the wall using the supplied mounting brackets that fit at the top. Iw won't move for sure. I'm really pleased with it.

      @@colinhill Thank you. Because my wall is boarded I decided to use carpenters modesty blocks to reinforce the Metod and used some spare shelves to reinforce the backs of each compartment for the printers. Do you have a solution for having the PSU outside of the Metod? If we are printing with PETG and ABS/ASA then 45-50C+ is going to reduce the lifespan of the PSU.

    Thanks for the video. Does it keep all the settings after power off? Or must I reprogram my temperature settings at each power on?

    Good video. What 12V to 5V power converter are you using?

      Makes vary but just something off Amazon. Probably more coverage on my other videos if you look through the fan and led lighting

    I just wanted to say thanks for the great how to! I was using this on my octoprint, and recently switched to Prusa Link/Connect. The switch and script still work great!!!! Thank you Colin!

    I've been looking to get these on my S5 for a little while, other videos didn't really show what I W as after as I was worried about the cabin drone, did something similar on a mk5 gti and i ended up taking them off again as was too loud for me and I got a resonated system instead. Thanks for the upload - this has given me my answer, this will be too loud for me.

      Can be loud at times but it's the only reason why I look forward to driving the car, always gives a smile

    Can I set the close temperature above the start temperature? That way I never go too slow. I was thinking running 12v dc compressor ,and I think if it runs too slow it might damage the compressor...
