Cornerstone Hospital in Conroe
Bravo bravo for your care about patients in unability wish rehabilitation and walking recovery for them
Miracles!
Love it!
UPDATE: This concept of integrating closed-chain exercise into the Hill-Rom hospital bed frame did not progress due to the high cost of a redesign. A more cost-efficient, portable exercise product that allows in-bed PWB exercise is in the final stage of development. The MOVAO MINI will be launched soon.
Im interested, where can I contact the vendor? Thank you
The Gen2 version will be out Q4 this year as well as the MOVAO MINI for in-bed leg press exercise. Stay tuned!
Wowww what an inspiration! It made my day: Thats how you show what a physio can do for their profession and for their patients
Nice to see you posting vids again!! Really enjoy the content 😊
Thanks! Been waiting for the right time with kids going off to college. Time to turn the focus back. Lots in store in the next year as design phase comes to an end and production starts.
@@themovao looking forward to what’s coming up! I’m a PT in Canada working in acute care. Never get tired of seeing someone mobilize in the early phase of recovery!!

Thank you, Phyllis, for having the courage to share your journey with us! -Student Physical Therapist at UCSF/SFSU
Hi there. I've probably watched your videos several times each week... my dad is 58 and he contracted a severe case of Covid-19 in March. He left the ICU in May after 31+ days on a ventilator, completely unable to move anything except shake his head yes/no. He spent 3 months in a physical therapy center, and they got him to move a bit more (his arms move freely up to elbows, legs can move when there's no gravity involved, and he can shift positions in the bed easier now) However, whilst he was in rehab, they did not use a single machine on him the entire time. He's still severely weak and can't walk. He desperately wants to get back to his baseline, and we desperately want to help, but not sure how. They did an MRI of his brain and spine, all is clear, and he was diagnosed with deconditioning/critical illness myopathy. We do exercises with him daily (we bought him a leg pedaling machine, and in 2 weeks he went from doing 1 set of 20 with our help, to 2 sets of 150 on his own!! We're hoping it will help him gain back strength to walk). If you all have any advice for me, it would mean the absolute world and more. I've spent hours researching how to help him, and keep coming back to your team's videos because I can't see much other evidence of physical therapy for critical illness weakness. (Specifically, I always watch Phyllis and the ICU Cowboy's videos for motivation! And Hito, the most recent Covid-19 case) I feel lost and want to help him, but can't figure out what would be best for him. Thanks so much.
Hi Mahams20! Just wanted to let you know that your comments about your father struck a chord with me when you posted and it began a 2 year brainstorming process on how I could develop a closed-chain strengthening HOME device. Requirements : Affordable less than $300, available on Amazon in 2 days, portable/lightweight, and offer the progressive resistance up to 50 pounds to allow severely weak muscles to adapt and ramp up gradually to supporting full body weight. It's great to finally tell you that the design is completed and there will be more to announce in the coming months. It's called the MOVAO MINI. Thanks again for your support and I hope your dad is back to independence!
that is a great job .. i am a physiotherapist i saw the video many times
Why were they wearing Gown glove and mask ?
Gloves are standard with all patients. As for mask and gown, this patient was probably on contact and isolation precautions.
I am happy I saw this, I have been thinking to take physical therapy but not sure of what it is. Seeing this made me want to actually go for it. I want to do something that will make a change .
thanks for sharing congrats!
When implementing an early mobility protocol consider using the RoWalker to help mobilize patients early and safely! The RoWalker was designed by nurses, therapists and physicians to address everything a patient would need during early mobility. visit www.sphmedical.com for more information.
Just finishing my first OTA PTA placement, this is really encouraging and refreshing to see.
it was so touch to see your dedication to patient! Early Mobility is a important concept to care patient in ICU, but seldom to follow this practice in Asia hospital practice.
