Great job, This is a much better version of this song than most others, would love the tab if you have it ?
Thanks dude! I don’t have the tab sadly. I’m more of a hear it, see it , play it guy .. appreciate the comment buddy 🤘
Getting some good different tones. I love it. I like simple electronics and that great looking Rickenbacker body. Thinner then a lot of other basses. So far I like your video best because you don't get all trebly but show that the instrument can have some bassy dept to it also.
@@maverickmcgarraugh1474 thanks 🙏, glad you like the video. It’s always nice to see compliments and comments about this awesome bass !
Hardest baseline you’ll ever learn but this chap’s tutorial is 1,000% better than that offered by all of the the narcissistic talk-too-much tits (and in-audible twoddle ) on CZcams for this iconic number. Thanks so much. Life saver. Noel
Ah Noel, thank you so much mate!! I’m glad you found it useful 🙂
Your bass Sounds great what strings are you using?
Thanks mate. Here I’m using Rotosound Flatwound - gauge - 45-105. And I’m also using an Aguilar Tone Hammer - bass preamp/di
Thanks
👏👏👏👏👏👏muito bom
obrigado 🤟🤘
great!!!
Thanks
What happens at @1:00 mark? Sounds like a second tone gets added but you don’t press a pedal.
Hey thanks for the question. The extra tone at 1:00 is happening in the original track. I'm using the original track as an under-layer for this particular performance, so parts of it creep into the whole mix 🙂 that's why it sounds like something I've done , but it is not. I imagine it was just part of the production in the studio , just so they can create a bit more of a build up .
Excellent tutorial, thank you, plz keep the jams coming.🔥💯🙏
Thanks glad you found useful 🤘
Somehow you've made it sound more groovy than Duff
Wow that’s pretty much the best compliment ever 🤘 thank you, glad you enjoyed.
Hi. Whats the brand of strings that you are using? Thanks
I'm Using the original strings that the bass came with in this video (this was filmed and recorded the day after I received the bass) since then I've changed a few different sets, but I usually go for RotoSound Roundwound strings . I would recommend that you use 40-100 gauge (rather than standard 45-1-5) for the fat strings so the tension and the feel is not too heavy.
Tutorial? LOL
🤣 Glad it makes you laugh 😁
You play it great but it's not a tutorial.
So can you power a pedal with either a 9v or 18 volt depending on pedal, or with an xlr cord? New to this stuff. Thanks
This particular pedal can be powered by 18 volts with an external power supply. It doesn't have battery slot compartments inside the pedal so can`t really use batteries unless you have a special external 18 volt battery unit. It can also be powered by the XLR cable if the mixing desk or Audio interface has the option to send the so called Phantom Power to the pedal, which is exactly what I am using in this video :-)
Goood but still a little too bluured and too deep to my ear
Thanks for comment 👍
Sick🔥🔥 I'm new to bass and look forward to play like this, it's really good🔥🔥
Glad you chose bass 🤘 you’ll have tons of fun with it !
i got one of these little babies, and run it through a single Hartke 2x10 cab, and it works quite well. Sound is quite good it does run hot though... and as for 200 watts. I'm thinking more like 20, but again for what it is, this little amp is a tremendous value. i think i run everything at about 2 oclock, except the master, that is more like 10 o'clock. I'm using mine for recording in a home studio, and mic'd up this set up records extraordinarily well. Your video is quite good. i personally recommended this amp but more as a practice or recording amp. I'm not so sure i would want to do gigs with it, as again it does run hot.
Hey George, thanks buddy. I usually run the Master Volume quite high around 3 o`clock and the Gain quite low to start with - around 9 o`clock , so that way you`ll stay in the green, if you know what I mean, and the amp won`t run too hot and it won`t distort. Let me know what you think when you try it that way if you feel like it 🙂
@@GeorgeGeorgeBass I will !!
Nice, clear, well done. I would have like to have heard it with the AGS level control down, but I can basically guess at that, thanks.
Thanks Charles 🙂
Hi! Cool video! I built my pedalboard using it) I put together a band when I heard Royal Blood, but I couldn't figure out how to do a similar bass split, and you showed me, and I also use a Fender splitter and a POG-2. By the way, our creativity: czcams.com/video/BvLY_z93_kI/video.html
What kind of amp will you use with that kind of setting?
Here I`m not using an amp, I`m goinfg straight into my computer, but any kind of amp should work with this setup.
@@GeorgeGeorgeBass ok thanks I got a markbass 121 and wonder how the guitar part may sound on it
@@fredguelen7630 it should sound pretty freaking good to be honest 🙂
Nice, thanks!
That sounds killer!
Thanks dude
Good video but the background music is distracting
The only way I can monetize is by adding my own music to the video sadly 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to do this! I’m researching some options to get the Royal Blood sound without going into ludicrous debt in the process, and this setup sounds solid.
I’m glad you find it useful mate ! Thanks for the comment.
Excelent!
Does it have any acoustic volume without amplification? Enough to hear it while just playing alone and practicing?
Yes you can hear it very well acoustically , but it’s not as loud as an acoustic bass.
1976 Rickenbacker 4000……looking at it probably built in March of that year…… Or close 😄 Best bass Rickenbacker have made!
I think you’re right actually, I remember looking up the serial number a few years ago and I’m almost sure it said March 1976 🤘 you’ve got a good eye there bud !!
@@GeorgeGeorgeBass I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to the 4000 (I have five of them) one identical to yours, in Fireglo. I know it’s March because of that fourth pickguard screw down from the neck. It’s so close to the edge they tend to crack the plate. They made a small batch of them. My ‘76 has the serial number PC 2221. It was probably made from the same tree. 😊
@@boggybond lol probably 🤘 thanks for the comments dude ! It’s rare to meet anyone who actually knows this model, let alone own 5 of them lol ! It’s an amazing bass you’re right 🤘
@@boggybond dude my serial number is 2223 😂😂 that’s definitely the same tree bro 👊
Great Review. Love the tone you get out of you'r P bass, even with the settings flat! Thanks!
Thanks 🙏
Good job.Why did you remove the neck pup?
This model doesn`t have a neck Pickup , If it did, I`d never remove it lol !! It`s a Rickenbacker 4000
@@GeorgeGeorgeBass I never saw that model.I had a 70s Ric, I didn't care for it at the time and I sold it.I do however love the look and sound of them.Yours is a nice bass.
@kevmac1230 I love this bass, it’s a 1976. Although it has quite a specific sound, and I only use it for particular gigs. You are right though , it looks awesome ! Cheers 👹
Sooo Awsome
Awesome video!!!
Glad you like it 👍
The title says “tutorial” it’s a cover not a tutorial
Correct 🙂
What strings? Rounds?
I’m using Flatwounds here 🙂
Nice…. I kind of suspected. Which ones? I’ve started using labella 760FX the light ones, seem to work well for rics.
@@bassmanluke never tried those , I’ll check them out 👍 I’m using standard 45s roto sound, they seem to work great for most of my basses 🙂
Which did you enjoy more the sansamp bddi or this tone hammer?
Honestly - I prefer his one.
Mayde aye faurt, yep, floodle
Nailed it!!!!!!
Thanks 🙏 and glad you think so!
Love the video and your explanation is awesome.......but.......... I could do without the background music. Or at least the levels of the audio is distracting.
Thanks mate, and background music comment noted 🙂
Great playin. I’m surprised how good that bass sounds!
Thanks , glad you like it 🤘
Hey, just ran into this, nicely done. The visual aspect of learning this is incredible. Thank you!!
You`re welcome. Glad you like it :-)
use a boss ls-2 foot switch works great, i used to run one but now 2 amps and a aby switch
Sounds good, I`ll give it a try.
Thanks for that. I just got one of these basses put aside (sparkling burgundy colour) which I'll be picking up in a couple of weeks and I've been trying to find a round vs flat comparison. Cheers.
You`re welcome. 👍
Not only would I like to compliment the bass playing, but the vocal part here, too! After hearing just about every live version over the years via the LZ bootleg material, Robert never sang the bridge/scat parts the same way twice - or exactly like the record…which by default concludes to the listener as the final/best blueprint version. I love what your singer does here in this clip. Let him know please. Thank u guys.
Ah , thank you so much for the kind words. I will pass the comments on to the singer , he will be delighted 🤘🤘
You’re welcome my brother. Well deserved.
Thanks buddy, totally made my day! :)
Would you recommend this for a P bass?
As far as I am concerned it works great with my 1976 P Bass, so I would highly recommend it 🙂 I am actually using it in this video,.
this is a great explanation of how it works. thanks!
Glad you think so 🙏
Back again! Best bass cover for me. Plus the vocals. Dang!
Thanks Louiese 🤘😎
what does the lift button do?
The lift button is for the ground, or in other words earthing. It is to do with the electrical circuit in the particular situation, and it can be different in different venues or even with different instruments. I`m not an electrical specialist, but I can tell you the following from experience - If you hear a prominent buzz when your bass is plugged in and ready to go, then 9 out of 10 times when you change the position of the lift button, the buzz will go away, Unless there is an actual fault in the wiring or the electrical circuit itself. Hope this helps.
This was a great cover at the start, but you screwed up big time in your chord progression after the opening riff, you should be playing 5-7 on the D and G string for that part, and the chord progression during the guitar solo is also completely wrong and missing a few notes, should play "We are Motorhead" on that bass instead, cause it'd be way easier for you, that said, it's great to hear more than just Bomber on the 8 string
I know this comment is a year old, but it’s such a bad take that I have to comment on it. A cover does not have to be note for note to be a great cover. There are thousands of covers of songs that the covering artist plays their own interpretation of the song. This gentleman did a great job of playing is one take of the song.
sounds good thanks for sharing
Glad you think so.
Doesnt look simple to me! I was hoping it was just one peddle! I cant keep track of all that gear.
Great bass cover. Is the bass tuning also on DADGAD?
Hi, and thank you. The Bass tuning here is standard - G D A E , starting from the thinnest string down to the fattest string
Awesome, plus extra points for the gorgeous Ric!
Thanks Mike 🤟
