She's alive!! XL600r runs!
She started up without too much hassle. I took her around the block a couple of times. The brakes aren't as good as I'd like, but they are new shoes and pads, so maybe they have to break in a little bit.
Got her home and shut it off to adjust the clutch cable. It was a bear to get her started again. I shut her down after she idled for a few minutes. Tried to start at it again, but I couldn't. Some fine tuning is in order.

Over the last 4 or 5 weeks or so, I've thrown a lot of new parts at this old girl, new tires, new tubes, new wheel bearings, new spark plug, rebuilt carburetors, new air filter, new chain, new, sprockets, new fork boots, rebuilt forks, cleaned and lubricated everything else. We'll find out later on if she runs.

So far I rebuilt the forks. New tires are inbound, Tusk D-Sports. Carb rebuild in progress.

As of March 2024. I've only been riding for about four years. Most of my life has been in the auto restoration industry. I quickly discovered a love for resurrecting old motorcycles. I find motorcycles that have been put away and forgotten. They usually do not run or run poorly. I buy them, fix them, ride them, and love them. My newest project, 1987 Honda XL600R!!
