what a beautiful soundtrack, i am sitting in my kitchen fully present with this music, and I can feel every emotion that the composer Thomas Newman wanted to convey. What a gift to be able to compose music like this.

I’ve eaten at the Whistle Stop Cafe. My father grew up in Forsyth, Georgia - a short drive to Juliette, Georgia, where this movie was filmed. Both my parents have died since then, but it’s fond memory of mine.

This film has been my favourite for more than 10 years. It was only in the last year when I actually read the book that the film was based on. Whilst the book was lovely, this is one of the rare cases when I think that the film is better than the book it was based on! Love you Idgie, Ruth, Ninnie, and more. <3

"After Ruth died and the railroad stopped running, the cafe shut down and everyone scattered to the winds. It was never more than just a little knockabout place, but now that I look back on it, when that cafe closed, the heart of the town just stopped a beatin. It's funny how a small place like this brought so many people together."

I’ve probably watched this magical show 4 times and every time it’s like I’m watching it for the first time, and each time I cry because it impacts me so very deeply. How I wish I had someone like Anne in my life; a kindred spirit, because we would’ve clicked right away for sharing the same state of mind and heart. And I envy her for having loving support, and circumstances that changed her course in life that otherwise would’ve killed her soul and bravery altogether. Unfortunately, the greedy, violent loving establishments like Netflix cancelled this amazing, beautiful, meaningful, heartfelt show but meaningless, sex hungry, violent and stupid ones continue.

I watch this movie several times a year... read the book too... this soundtrack is amazing.

The day you die and cross over to the other side and realize your loved ones were never really gone. They were in the next room.

This movie makes me proud to be a southern lady. And the way the characters really care about each other is so true to the south.

I’ve lived in the deep South most of life. East Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida. I moved to New York in 1999, beautiful city but it was cold and fast paced. I like our story telling, our traditions, our slow pace, our architecture, our food, our trees, our mild weather. I don’t think I could ever live anywhere else but the South. This song reminds me of a lost love, and a lost friend. He died back in 1992. We had watched this movie together. A week later he died of Aids complication. I lost so many friend in one year. Around 30. No young man should ever have to go throght this harrowing experience. I remember listening to this song while driving between Atlanta and Birmingham. I had to stop by the side of the road. I don’t think I ever cried so much.
