Because I didn't know now at the time that was the plane with the emergency and thought the other was going to do a low approach, but I've never seen an f35 go that slow over lakenheath so I stayed on that plane

@@Liberty-wing So you could not figure out the plane coming in towards the runway would not be the one to land?

Actually, no, it's terrible plane that's earned the nickname Skypig. The insistence on an airframe large enough to support the F-35B VTOL capabilities badly handicaps the A and C model. The delay in software updates means delays in key weapons systems and we've got a plane that is NOT READY to replace the F-15s and F/A-18s as they age out. Back during the century series years there was enough competition that a stinker like this would have been given a limited, or even production run at all, while more capable aircraft were built in larger numbers. The F-35's real hopes are the 1) Russia is a rotten husk set to collapse and 2) China's planes look like ours, but don't perform like ours, and their inability to enforce freedom of the seas means they might be a problem, but they won't be a long term problem. Now if only Boeing weren't in a death spiral, maybe the F-15EX and an updated F/A-18 could take some of the load. Our lack of strength is disquieting, it's a good thing our two most capable foes ... aren't very capable.

Yeah it did sound louder there and longer it just didn't come out in video as much but there's more in the nre video I put up

That was some noise only ever got to hear that once never forget what that was like

The F-104's howl was better.

I've not experienced that, I know they ain't the same but the noise the f22s made when they last visited was a haunting sound
