    Perfect dress😍 I have a tip how to cut even stripes without drawing and measuring (great for quick small projects). Use PAINTER’s TAPE. Just find right width, stick evenly to the fabric and cut out. So easy! You can reuse the tape or even stick it back to the roll😍 I do the interlining the same way🥰

    This was really interesting, thank you. I think we have all bought t-shirts that have started to spin. At the other end on a visit to Madiera, many years ago now our suitcases didn't make it with us. As a result we turned up in clothes more suited to a UK January day than a warm day. We popped into town and bought a couple of t-shirts each that cost about 5 Euros each. So even, then cheap. They washed and wore really well and I'm still using one now - some 18 years later, although it is for the garden. However, in future I will take a good look at t-shirts in the store before I buy.

    Hi thanks for the video, I wonder if you can help. I bought this and made a small sewing bag (2 layers of cotton fabric sandwiched with cotton batting. The hole is made and I can see it's about 1mm thick. Tbe prym poppers (plastic coloured snaps) I used (9mm) go on ok, but when closing and opening several times, the poppers (plastic coloured snaps) come off (usually one side sticking to the other), leaving one side without the male or female end. Do the bigger size poppers have longer points?

    Excellent tips, especially the "paper under the seam allowance before pressing". I use a couple of long narrow envelopes, each about 1050 x240 mm in size. I glue the flaps down and use the non-flap side under the seam allowance. It's saved me a lot of unpleasant work removing the "railroad tracks" from the right side of the seam.

    People always talk about interfacing without mentioning that it shinks and can ruin your garments :( It happened to me and I couldn't understand what I did wrong. How are you suppose to pre-wash the interfacing if it has glue? I put mine in still hot water and the glue particles detached from the fabric.

    • @Julija_Gobere
      @Julija_Gobere Před 8 dny

      Back in sewing school, we were taught to steam interfacing before applying, to pre-shrink it (the iron does not touch the interfacing, its kept slightly above during steaming). Shrinking does not happen with every interfacing, but it’s a good idea to test before applying🤗

Just draw around your finger onto a very small scrap of leather, cut out 2 and whip stitch together with strong thread. I find it much more comfortable than the metal ones and less sweaty, also a custom fit.
