Roof top tents are cool and all, but you can do a lot with a good ground tent. I have a big ground tent that takes up less room and is light weight. My cot and sleeping bag are plenty comfortable. Sure, it takes longer to set up, but not really more than 10 minutes. I think rooftop tents have more down sides, than a good ground tent.

Overlanding is on the brink of becoming a strictly rich guy thing… it’s always been there to a certain extent, but it’s about to become an exclusive activity. The crowds will fall big time. If you’re not stinkin rich and you don’t have a rig now, chances are you never will.. at least for a decade or two.

Most youtubers on CZcams that claim to ...or rather start a you tube channel , film their weekend camping trips, or trip across a pass, or a sprint through the desert and call it OVERLANDING have absolutely no idea what they are doing... or what Real OVERLANDING really is......and how to do it.....and why WE do it.. I assure you, OVERLANDING did not become a thing to make CZcams videos and advertise every single piece of gear you can get a sponsor for to supplement income because thousands of people lost their job during the ObamaFauciFlu planned pandemic and could no longer afford the cruise or the family beach trip......... The really funny dudes are the ones who build these ridiculous 250k dollar trail rigs, buy thousands of dollars worth of drones and camera equipment and film their camping trip and then tell a story with some music about their camping trip they just filmed over the weekend... There are a few out there who are making a good effort and a good living doing this...and just a few.....a very few.... Most are struggling and now complaining trails are being shut down, BLM land being closed off ... Crazy stuff to watch.... This little craze actually had a YUGE effect on the 4x4 and SUV , Jeep Bronco 4 Runner market driving the price to absolutely ridiculous dealership ending prices...... It really did..... There was actual bidding wars at dealerships by CZcamsers just to see how high they could get the price up to for views........ This was like chumming the H2O for the crooked sales people for the rest of the people who got interested in offloading and then could not afford to buy the wrapper the thing shipped in..... BUT !!!!!! All of that is crashing down as we speak....many of these nasty dealers are done, closed, out of business or in court for fraud or theft for selling an ordered vehicle that actually had a deposit and bills of sale right out from under these people in some of those CZcams bidding wars..... 😂 haaaaaa... I am thinking about going to one of the hearings just to watch the dealer get hammered...... I guess there is a lesson in here for those who will fall hard because they figured people would just watch forever , other people film their camping trips and market overpriced ridiculous camping gear and mods and radios and wheels that stick out that make mud fly everywhere 😂....tires that ......well, it's not the tires fault.... Overlanding is not filming your camping trip for a CZcams video..... Filming your camping trip for you tube is not overlanding.... Mess with a good thing, it always messes back in the end.....and usually leaves a scar.... F Y I.....

I’m a trucker and I appreciate this because I own a Cascadia freightliner and the only reason I have one instead of a Pete is number one cost And their vast network like a TA shop or a Speedco shop. I’m also an owner of a Ford F250 with an 8 foot bed. I’d love to take it over Landing. Do you have any recommendations what I should do to it?

I've always ran 10 ply for the flat protection. Used to flat my Tundra's stock 6 ply's like no other. Another beni to the 10 ply is you can run it at lower psi and still have the protection. But like you said, comes at a weight cost, or used to. Can feel it in a 5.7 Tundra, and can def feel it in my 4.7 Tundra play truck. If I remember right, the 1st gen Falkens at's were much lighter in the 6ply, like 20%. Now they're the exact same as the 10. Funky.

One thing i would add is that the rebuildable shocks are often designed to be used and abused and then need rebuilding after only a few years. So they are designed not to last a very long time between rebuild intervals by nature. So, just factor in yhe full cost and time without a truck (unless you have a spare set of struts) into the cost when considering the rebuildable ones.

You need to read the ARRL antenna manual. So much of what you have listed is not entirely accurate... study and learn. Then become a licensed Amateur Radio operator! the cost for licensing is less than a radio.
