    Awesome vid I watched it twice 😂.. quick question what did you use at the end of the procedure to protect the paint? Did you wax, ceramic coat or PPF? Thanks

    I guess my thing is unless there is some very specific performance reason you want an SDO, the HDO seems to be more versatile, as it can be used on all machines just fine. I'd rather buy a single range of pads that all my machines can use, rather than double the pads to split between them. Though I'm mainly a DIY detailer and not a pro with heavy volume.

  • @B15SDMDESIGNS

    Excellent video! I prefer to (dry) DA sand all the defects down using 1500 grit and then wet 3M 3000 grit Trizact, before polishing. Wet sanding just feels too risky as I found its easier to burn through as I struggle to keep track of how much material is being taken off. With the dry DA sanding method I like to keep a microfibre cloth in one hand and keep wiping the dust as I'm moving the DA over the panel so I can see which areas have been flattened. I find this works best for me.

  • @matthewgibb2640
    @matthewgibb2640 Před měsícem

    Very good LC. I suggest with microfiber to clean halfway through each section or each section minimum, wool every section and foams every section or two. Abraded paint is your enemy and negatively effects your cut and finish performance Use a few mists of liquid when cleaning fiber pads with air as it will remove more residue and oils and no airborne dust. Pad life for me is 10--100 cars depending on materials. When cleaning afterwards i like wool wash for those pads, towel reset for mf pads. I wish you made a liquid version of snappy clean as powders never fully dissolve, in time they return back to powders. Yvans claim not mine. Reducing heat cycles and not soaking foams in a tub of water will extend their lifespan. Water reduces density/fitmness of foams in time.

    Whilst rotaries can leave marks at times for various reasons,ive achieved flawless results with them hundreds of times. But using a random or gear driven is obviously an easier way to avoid that. If i can correct with wool and rotary when i do so and leave the tiniest holograms then finish with one more step then so can others. The users skills as well as sekection of pads and products abd technique defines the tools results

    Hi. Best video on this subject by far on the internet. Thanks for sharing all this useful information on the subject. Could you help me do better. Every time I try to wet sand my paint even starting with a minimum of 2000 grit I always end up with scratches that deep 3m trizacts will not get out even keeping things as clean as possible. I'm at the stage now we're I dare only start with 3000 . Help appreciated. Thanks regards ron

    I'm so glad this exists...back in '93 when I started detailing, all we had were rotary buffers with the big fluffy wool pads...every couple panels or so, we'd hold it upside down, spin it up and stick a screwdriver into the fibers and let it spin out dried compound dust all over the shop......we never once would have considered putting liquid on our pads during a compounding session...my, what we have learned over 30 years...lol

    I have a question that keeps popping up. I hear over and over again you have to use a block when sanding finishes - but how does this translate when you arent on a flat surface? Wouldnt you miss a lot of uncorrected material?

    They work fine on a 15mm. lol You guys have the best pads on the market but this narrative has to stop. If the HDO's weren't priced like gold you wouldn't of had to create this narrative that SDO are specifically for short throw machines, I remember when HDO's didn't exist and the SDO worked fine on a long throw then. HDO pads make the job quicker and they last a little longer.

  • @mattolivo
    @mattolivo Před 2 měsíci

    ummmm ive been using the SDO's on my long throw forever they work great. HDO's are priced like they have gold flake in them. lol I do have some HDO"s they make the job quicker but the SDO's were fine before the HDO was created so don't think you have to buy the HDO bc you have a long throw, this guy is a business man so of course he is trying to sell the most expensive pad they have. SDO's work just fine. Other companies don't have that extra layer in there pads and they are fine.

    Thanks very much for this video. I have a 2016 VW GLI SEL in the Deep Black Pearl. I know it's not a high-end luxury car or a Supercar but to me this car is perfect. WIth that said the VW clear coat is insanely hard. The paint on the car is actually in pretty decent shape but there are some whirl marks and holograms that I want to correct prior to coating. I live in the United States and being fairly effective with DIY I want to correct it myself. I have some😮 hex logic pads (white, black orange), I have a Eurofiber cut/finishing pad, as well as a couple different wool pads. I have tried the AOD Papacut. On most paints this polish with the Euro fiber pad is all I need. Unfortunately that combination seems to be completely ineffective. Do you have any advice it looks like your big bird pad cut through the GTI paint which looks to be the same deep Black Pearl.. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the very high quality video

    Hey. Bought the thin fiber buffing pad and it dances around a n the metal surface and as it dries out it gets worse and worse. If you keep it wet with compound it never heats up enough to get rid of 2000 scratches.

    Love lake country products but my pad washers top has cracked in 4 spots as well and the top need to be raised about 3" because unless your super careful and being as easy as possible, you will sling water and spent product all over the place. Love the pad cleaner but needs some improvements. The Snappy Clean Boost cleaning powder is great! Don't get me wrong or take as criticism, your pad washer is awesome and I use it religiously day in and day out. It is a life saver to keep my pads clean as possible while working on paint and always clean pads at end of each day to be clean, freash and ready for a new day.

    That grommet has a lip on it. It fits inside the hole in the bucket and stays there. Mine kept popping out so I found one that fit better than the oem part. Additionally, I like the product a lot, but some of us are seeing cracks in the top with some actually flaking off. At $160 this should not be the case. Love Lake Country in general. But make this product better or cheaper or both.
