Jet wash with Karcher then sand down with Festool dustless sanders, wash again with Rustoleum paint prep, then spray with wagner 5000 fine HVLP e coats of primer & undercoat & 2 coats of finish .

I despise those little bastards. Im fighting them right now in my kids bathrom. Now i gotta scrape in the morning and touch up. I wanted to b painting right now. I haate drywall! 😢
Wait until the plaster has dried, then once dried de nib with a light scraper or a light sand with 180grit or 240 , then wipe down dust with wet damp cloth, then apply a good quality primer like Tikkurilla Optiva Primer or 50/50 emulsion as long as it sealed the alkaline in the plaster then apply your top coats.. Most of the problems with bubbles is either dust or PVA. Never use PVA on fresh plaster before painting. Good luck 😅
Good trowels do a nice finish takes a lot of work out of the job hower damasges very easily
What happens if you let it dry then re~skim would the bubbles still reappear
You can let them dry it will mean small imperfections in the finished coat, then when you apply a mist coat the areas should be slightly & gently sanded down. Then apply a finish coat paint, if imperfections are evident then apply fine filler & allow to dry , gently sand down & apply another 2 coats with a microfibre roller sleeves.
Hi there! I'm renovating an old house now. A layer of glue paint was covered with two layers of plaster and painted. I scraped the paint off and the old layer of plaster needs repairing. Do you think it's a good idea to bond the old coat with PVA and then when it's dry plaster the walls?
Always use PVA or sbr to help to stop the dust & pours surfaces before any backing plaster or finish plaster.
Why do you pva it is it so the plaster or cement get a good key
It’s important to make sure the surfaces are dust free, also it helps with suction control & helps the plaster to adhere properly.

Hello mate I'm bonding my blocked fireplace area on the chimney breast section in my living room .it's been bricked up (brick on edge).. before bonding can I apply just water to the brick or do i need pva? Also after bonding If I can get it flat enough can I wallpaper over that? Thanks
Hi you will need pva, some corner beads then apply bonding, then I would suggest multifinsh on top of the bonding to give a smooth flat finish, the wallpaper needs a smooth background.

Did you mix PVA glue will multi-finish?
No you don’t need to it has PVA already in the powder. Only need to add PVA with water 50/50

What was the ratios of the mix pls
Normally 60%pva 40%water depending on the surfaces your going over & how porous the areas are & the strength of the PVA. PVA May have mixing ratios on the back of the tube

I've been plastering for 10 years always used 1 coat of pva 90 percent pva 10 percent water never had any problems with that.
Do you have to apply that mixture before painting?
Nope before plastering

I had a wall do this just now that's why I went on CZcams to look I've been plastering for donkeys years and still goes wrong on me sometimes the more you try it the worse it gets I've heard that you can actually run a sponge float over it and bring it back to life and just re-trail it

If the walls smooth enough for a multi finish on to stop the dry suction on walls I I stablizer the walls first with a sandtex water based primer sealer then a couple of coats of pva on top of sealer. Trust me mate you get more play time with the plaster

mate, in your experience, do you really need to remove all the wallpaper paste/glue for the skim to stay up? cheers
Probably best to wash walls, the PVA is water soluble & will reactivate any thing that is water, don’t worry to much about paste. If you was painting a wall with wallpaper paste on then you would be in trouble.
TheGatesOfFire any bits of wallpaper will be a nightmare, when you cover the wall with plaster it’s will soak the paper and when you go to flatten off you’ll drag the paper off the wall with your plaster on top
Hello Can you tell me what is the purpose of the PVA? Is it like a primer? I am asking it because I can't find it in my country. I have an old house, and I removed all the old and damaged lime plaster from the walls, exposing the brick. Will this PVA help the new cement plaster bond better? Can I continue without using it?
Cosmin SQUARE STUDIO hello my advice is to have your local plaster have a look as many different substrates are different, without seeing it this question is difficult to answer. The reason for PVA is to help bind the dusty surfaces together also allowing the a better adhesion like you said a primer, but this depends on the surfaces you applying too.
