Yeah I mostly got the same feel from the optional rules. It's easily one of the most optional books I've seen in a 'core' group of books for any system. Arguably a better system without it. It'll be interesting what happens with the revisions.

@@rpgcrawler I’m not getting the revisions. I have several PHB’s of 6th and 7th printings (they were identical). One for me and the rest table copies. I also run out of a slimmer M&T book with the dragon on the cover. I’m good with those. Plus I’m also at the point where if I bring any more books in, I might get slapped with it up side my head by the wife 😂

Yeah, as soon as the Septim dynasty went down, it was only a matter of time before the Empire crumbled. I actually am kind of impressed they went ahead and wrote the lore to drag it out all those years between IV and V, curious to see what sort of arrangement they'll do for VI. Although the way things tend to go, it'll probably not make sense.

I am currently doing a let's play of it over on my secondary channel @rpgcrawlerplays. Coming up through Act 3 at the moment. (Had to start doing them over there because the algorithm was ruining me for doing them and reviews on the same channel.)

Yeah, so far a few comments are leaning back to the older way. I just want to make sure people can easily pay attention to what tthey want updates on. The way I used to do it was the big ones (Pathfinder, PF2e, 5e), their derivatives (A5E, etc), followed by transitionary-OSR (DCCRPG, shadowdark, etc), then OSR, then OSR-Like, Other established fantasy sytems, new fantasy systems, Grimdark systems like Warhammer, then horror systems starting with Call of Cthulhu, World/Chronicles of Darkness etc, then other systems, sci fi systems starting with things ilke traveller, Star Trek etc, then things like shadowrun, cyberpunk, and then miscellaneous other 'modernish' systems and superhero style stuff. Lately though, there's been a bunch of branch systems that are starting to gain traction and be used for different genres, like Essence20, or more 5e derivative systems that are used for modern or sci fi settings, OSR systems for things other than classic fantasy, etc. Which honestly I think is great for the industry, but then when organizing them I feel like i'm jumping all over the board in terms of genre, though at least the system was more of a gradiant. The part of me that likes seeing things nice and categorized and organized is gonna have conniptions either way hah.

Yeah the mods in this run had a BUNCH of new spells and abilities. Made for a fun little run. I'd be hard pressed to duplicate it today because a lot were broken/replaced/updated over the years.

Yeah it's actually in a list of lists on the main channel page, but it's at the bottom, with all my elder scrolls playthroughs. I'm really bummed I can't just copy the old let's plays en masse to the new channel easily. Maybe I can list the lists over there or something, I don't know.
