At least for me, I think the best advice for creating unique and original levels is to purposely make a level that’s not meant to make. As in not worrying whether or not it would get rated or if other’s would like it, since it’s then when you don’t feel pressure or limits and you allow yourself to create gameplay in ways you might never have thought of before.

And now Heliopolis is a contender for top 1 demon 2025 and Avernus is in the top 3 with acheron, LIMBO, and AoD being the most accurate placements when compared to the modern demon list Edit; Avernus is Top 5 as Silent Clubstep is top 3 now Useless edit; It's impressive how Tidal wave is so far the hardest Top 1 extreme demon to surpass in difficulty being almost one whole year without being surpassed and one month longer without being seriously challenged compared to the past hardest Top 1 to surpass in difficulty which took 9 months to surpass.

imo the ILL is super boring. Every level has that one part that they just have going on for way too long, with the most boring deco that I can't even see because it goes dark every 2 seconds. Creators have absolutely no limitations, and they do this?

The levels are boring as fuck, the gameplay is not revolutionary, it’s a blue orb following a wave with a sideways camera trigger, nothing cool, these levels are effortless in gameplay AND they steal assets (without permission) they shouldn’t get rated

The thing I hate about those dancing line levels is that they dont even sync with the music AT ALL. I tried playing and it just felt so underwhelming

what infuriates me more is how nobody even knows the origins of these line levels. they are VERY clearly inspired by the now deleted mobile game; dancing line. similar to these line levels, though predating them, is a game where you have to tap the screen for a long line to switch direction. I am disappointed that nobody knows about this yet since that deleted mobile game has been my childhood

in my personal opinion there shouldn't be any copy/pasting from other people's levels at all in rated levels. this is different to having inspired deco or a level remake. you can still pay tribute to other levels without copy/pasting from it.
