Rainbow lorikeets at breakfast
A family of Rainbow Lorikeets have started stopping by my bedroom window to get a little breakfast.
The juveniles, who have dark eyes and darker beaks are the one's who are emitting that godawful squeak.
Clicks are me taking some still photos which are available on flicker: www.flickr.com/photos/danack/5990259058/
Taken with a gopro hence the extreme wide angle.

video of my horrible commute from Circular Quay to Kirribilli. Kirribilli wharf was closed so the ferry stopped at Beulah Street wharf instead.

Sydney Harbour Bridge sunset Timelapse

Taken 3rd March 2011. All day the Sydney sky was clear to the south and cloudy to the north. On my way home I could see that although most of the sky was clouds the place where the sun was going to set was clear so it could be a good sunset for doing a timelapse video. Panorama of the Bridge and the Opera House here: www.flickr.com/photos/danack/5496935110/ www.flickr.com/photos/danack/5496935110/

I don't feed the lorikeets in the morning - they still come and say hello though. They really need a snooze button.

The camera is looking east over Kirribilli House - aka the prime ministers's official Sydney residence - towards a firework barge positioned between Kirribilli and Fort Denison. Lunar eclipse Sydney
zhlédnutí 847Před 13 lety
Lunar eclipse filmed on December 21st 2010. The total eclipse wasn't visible from Sydney so this is a video of the Opera house going from day to twilight and the moon emerging from partial (90%) eclipse as it comes over the horizon. The alternative title is 'how do you read a compass again - I've forgotten' and the moon is visible at 1:05 for those with short attention spans.

Aria Fireworks
zhlédnutí 169Před 13 lety
Video of the Aria awards fireworks taken 7th November 2010. This was meant to be a huge display from 6 barges with 100mm shells (i.e. big fireworks) so I spent a couple of hours waiting for it to happen from a vantage point in the Sydney overseas passenger terminal in Circular Quay. I was not hugely impressed by only 1 barge of small fireworks. No fireworks audio as the wind was really blowing ...

Those two are trying to tune the girls
No good for lorikeet eat the sun flower seeds Rainbow lorikeet
you're so lucky !!! those birds can move!!
They really should adapt the design so the birds can give themselves water.
❤❤❤
Muito linda...
Haha, the bird after drinking water looks like “please turn water off “, iam done with drinking 😊
See there is always someone who wants to help the birdies in cockatoo land.
Why do they look like Gumi
Ohhhhhh
Boy I’d love to live in one of the units there. What a view!!!
ty for video
its good for my lorikeet lol
Beautiful beautiful parrots of diverse color or multicolored hues!
Nice!
😍
It is really silly and funny.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you sooooooooooo much for your kindness!! You a very good person!! Joan
isn't it a mating dance
Too cute!!!!! Smart bird <3
So amazing how he then.... studies your hand.... to see.... 'How they hell did he turn this thing on.... I need to know this for later.....' SO SMART!!
I want to be a parrot in my next life.
Thank you for turning on the water.
Now I want to see the video uploader write to their council & tell them they observed someone who was very thirsty but was unable to use the fountain, due to it's old style tap turning structure & their disability/different abilities & ask council to please upgrade it to the newer style universally accessible push down lever type, so that everyone who's thirsty has the ability to get a drink - then I want them to go back & video the cocky turning it on themself (cause they would if it was the universally accessible design)
But what about the next time the bird gets thirsty? What then?
Seems like wild cockatoos are a lot more sane than 'tame' ones.
because people have no idea what parrots need and make them frustrated
@@nightmarecreature4489 yup exactly! Parrots need HUGE amounts of stimulation! Very few get it in captivity, in the wild, they can do the same stuff they do in captivity when humans are willing & the rest of the time, they can find their own entertainment, instead of being locked in a tiny cage with nothing to do but scream & bite
@@mehere8038 exactly what i had on mind but i cant put shit into words lol
@@nightmarecreature4489 what you said made perfect sense to me :) I'm guessing we're both parrot owners aren't we? I've got years of wildlife rescue experience, but new to pet ones, with 2 rescue lorikeets I got at the beginning of this year. Since getting them I've learnt a LOT & learnt to pick fellow parrot owners too :) & also kinda been shocked at how little so many know about parrot needs (which would be fine, IF parrots weren't so easy for them to purchase)
Our porch is covered with lorieeks everyday all day they are such a welcome pleasure. Noisy naughty cheeky a sheer amazing experience we feel so blessed. My scaly breasted lorieek Diva interacts with them.💓💓🐦🐦🥰🥰😘😘💓💓
Ay janam
When it rains our porch is a sea of hungry and cold lorieeks and other different wild birds.🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦💓💓💓 All are feed and happily welcomed gets very noisy wouldn't have it any other way. Our own scaly breasted lorieek Diva 🐦💓 loves the interaction she has with them. 🐦🐦🐦💓💓😘😘
you can get lorikeet mix for them if you really want to feed them the best thing for them. Its a bit costly but best to feed them that.
they have sharp claws
So odd. The birds here are suuuper afraid of humans. If you even get in the same yard as them, they fly off.
I thought that oddball behavior had to be a guy trying to impress a girl. Of course he wouldn't tolerate anybody else around while this was going on.

Cockatoo: thanks for letting me borrow your opposable thumbs ;) GREAT VIDEO!
Cute cockatoo
They GOTTA find a way to make the thing easy enough for the birds to turn on.

It's a good thing that those knobs are too resistant for those birds to turn on the fountain by themselves. That would be a recipe for disaster... fountains staying on all of the place from these birds smart enough to know that turning the knob gives them water, but too stupid to know what limited resources are and turn the thing off when they are done. Then droughts start happening all across Australia, the people get tired of the government that failed them, civil unrest breaks out, rival countries infiltrate and assert dominance over the (now) politically weak area, world powers step in to stop it, nuclear warfare ensues, humanity as we know it is destroyed, aliens from outer space see our now weak yet hospitable planet and sterilize it, as to settle it later. All because of some birds.
In Australia these are called « bubblers »
10 years later... youtube c'mon!
I think I've watched the videos out of sequence - there's another one with a similar fountain where a cockatoo is waiting for a human to turn the water on - seems like it learnt it here! Here's the other video: czcams.com/video/82_ZJ1Y4Hhk/video.html
they should make it sos the waste water goes into a trof for the birbs and other creatures to drink from even when theres no pp toi turn the tap

someone needs to install a knob so that the birds can push it easily to get their water...
Is that a hormonal lori? I bet it is, lori flirting... ☺️👏👏👏
What kind of bird is that? Is it a magpie of some sort? Country? At least looks a bit like the Australian magpies I’ve seen, but I can’t remember that white beak... Now that I saw the loris, it must be Australia...☺️
Yeah, Australian Magpie. The ones around Sydney definitely have a white beak: czcams.com/video/m_BjnP5EEy4/video.html
Any snacks? Right, cheers, I'm off.
