Bidadari Park - Alkaff Lake - Rain Tree Island - Beside Woodleigh MRT/Mall | SingaporeIsland
A new 13-hectare park within the Bidadari estate, located near Woodleigh MRT station, officially opened on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. The park, inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh, retains the area's original wooded, rustic charm and covers over 10 percent of the estate’s land, spanning the equivalent of 18 football fields. Visitors can explore a 5.2km network of trails winding through greenery.
A key feature of the park is the 1.8-hectare Alkaff Lake, while it brings back memories of Alkaff Lake Gardens, which stood from around 1930 till the 1960s, the new lake is designed for both recreation and flood management, making it the first of its kind. The lake not only serves as a scenic attraction but also plays a vital role in protecting the Bidadari estate from flash floods by holding stormwater during heavy rains.
Minister for National Development Desmond Lee, who inaugurated the park, reflected on its transformation from the former Bidadari cemetery, which was exhumed in the early 2000s to make way for housing. The park’s design offers a variety of landscapes, including marshlands, thick groves, and rolling hills, making it a haven for both visitors and migratory birds.

Inclusive in the admission ticket to the Science Centre Singapore. If you do not buy the admission ticket to Science Centre, it is not free to just enter to the waterworks water play area.
