Tornado-Warned Thunderstorm with Epic Structure, Strong Winds, Heavy Rains - Hebron, WI - 6/3/24
Footage of a severe and tornado-warned line segment moving through areas between Madison and Milwaukee, WI. No tornadoes ever occurred, however, these storms did bring sporadic wind damage to southern Wisconsin. Storms then trained over the same areas well into the overnight hours, leading to some areas receiving as much as 5 inches of rainfall.

A derecho swept across the Midwest on June 29th, 2023, resulting in widespread damaging winds with isolated gusts over 100 mph. Much of the region is now in severe to extreme drought, so the rain was beneficial, but the winds that came with it obviously were not! What a monster. Not sure I’d call it close range.
I chased in Iowa this day - still didn't go far enough southwest for the tornadoes; although the expectation seemed to be for them to continue occurring further east than they did - and was repeatedly blocked by damage after getting most of the way home. This was one of the more widespread damaging wind events in recent memory for south-central Wisconsin.
Wow, glad you were able to make it home safe. Sorry you also missed the tornadoes! Yeah, apart from the initial supercells, every storm we ran into had very impressive winds. Makes sense with the kinematics that were in place that day!

Sorry if i missed it but where was this tornado at? Im watching a show rn about a tornado that hit Rochelle Illinois and theres a scene that looks exactly like the tornado does at 6:02. Also this is some of the best footage of a tornado. My mom is chases these bad boys and she has seen some big ones! I plan to go with her next year! Keep up the good work guys! ❤

Great chase! This day certainly had many curveballs. By the time it reached me, it was moving at 70 mph. Other than 5 minutes of 45-60 mph wind gusts, the worst went to my north and south. See ya in the next video!
Thank you! Yeah, I was pretty happy with the outcome of the chase, though my hopes weren't very high going into it due to the messy nature which was being forecasted.

@@weathermanofthenorth1547 at one point I clicked on a severe warning in east-central WI, and it stated the storm was moving NE at 90 mph. May have been slightly difficult to chase that one! Haha
@MidwestStormChasing Gesh! I remember the Unity tornado was moving at 80 mph, so very believeable! It was a really kinematic atmosphere too!

I live in the midwest (Missouri) and have never SEEN a tornado, of course I have only lived here for 4 years. Please forgive my ignorance, did my eyes literally see oak trees ripped UP from their roots? If yes, then that is truly awful power, like incomprehensible. Yes, this was a fantastic video! Super professional, no screaming.
