Just a baby Grey Butcherbird relaxing under the sprinkler this morning.
Still haven't braved the bird bath, but they love to chill under the sprinkler on a warm day.

Australian Ringneck Parrot and a Red-Capped Parrot having a Sunday arvo dip in the bird bath. The other parrot at the end is a juvenile Red-Capped who won't get their "red cap" for another few months. Camera battery was charging so set up the security cam right next to the bird bath today coz I knew they'd come by for a swim :)

The local Columbidae birds (Pigeon, Common Bronzewing, Crested Pigeon and Laughing Dove) get into my neighbours chicken coop every day but always forget how to get out. Usually they end up having to spend the night locked up until she lets them out in the morning, but today the dove finally realised it can just fit through the fence gaps 😂

The smaller doves don't fuck around. I have eurasian collared doves in my yard and they easily have a 90% winrate against the wood pigeons that are twice their size.

Pigeon wings slaps are no joke.
Sometimes the Wading pool is just the thing.
Its blue, that is why the magpie is attracted to it.
I'm pretty sure that's only behaviour of the European Magpies which are part of the Corvid family, Australian Magpies are actually unrelated.

Either side of my house are 2 huge Grevillea trees that have been claimed by a massive family of Red Wattlebirds 😂 they're so noisy but it's hilarious watching them chase every single other bird who tries to eat their precious nectar.

Here in NZ they're called Fantails, in Aussie, they're Willywagtails. Ours fly silently and is meant to bring death when they fly inside (Maori superstition).

So cute right! They're "Australian Magpies" which are actually completely different to the other ones in Europe etc. And yep from 0-1 years the beak is black, then it takes another year for it to go from black to bright like the adults one here.
