You guys are so on point. Again Vince, Kennard and Bane are the only 3 we had that shot 3s at the league avg or more. All other Grizzlies were below. Brown for Boston was the only player below league average. So either the team has to shoot better from 3 or take less 3s if we are not hitting. We don’t like to see players crying over foul calls but at times if you don’t say anything the refs screw you over. Santi is always getting clearly fouled and the refs don’t call it. It’s a delicate balance of playing thru and saying something for those obvious missed or incorrect calls. Glad it was mentioned about Kennard struggles with getting shots at times

Smart should only be traded if we end up with another player who can do what Smart is supposed to do better. Honestly I will be pleasantly surprised if we are able to make a major trade. I see us making a major move after next season when decisions can be made on Santi, Zaire and Jake (although trade is possible at any time they can also just not be resigned to create a spot if a trade of our liking isn’t done). This opinion isn’t from lack of us trying; it’s more about other teams not offering what we really need.

I think you over rate clingon. Edey smoked him in college and he will smoke him in the pros. He has only played since jr in high school and has a determined attitude to improve and he has every year. I'd just take Edey at 9 if DC is gone. There's just not much difference in the two for me. The Grizzlies just need a giant to play 20 or so minutes a game, rebound, and be big. Otherwise, anyone under 6'11 is a no-go for me, regardless of skillset.

I think we’d be perfectly fine with Robert Willams playing the backup 5 Joe , especially if we traded up to draft Clingan . We’d also still have Clarke so this hypothetical 2026 pick probably wouldn’t have a chance to play anyway

What people are missing about Smart is, he is needed to guard those dawgs in the west (Booker, Luka, Ky, Murray Jalen Green and etc). Vince Williams may not be ready to start and has ZERO experience in meaningful games. You have to start the season giving Marcus a shot and see how it plays out. If he doesnt mesh woth the Core 3, then theres still time to trade him

TRADE Smart, Kennard, Konchar, and Aldama. We need two starters that fit Ja better in the half court offense. Spacing, shooting, and rebounding are key. The salary for those is about 39 mil per year. It can't be wasted on non starters that are not dependable, and you have a big 3 on max contracts.

It seems that changes in the squad are because of the injuries last season and being able to see what this group can do together. They were really good in those 9 games they played together.

Rose won't get traded, but they might need a roster spot at some point.
