Basic instructions on how to use the Beko KDG581 Gas Hob, Grill and Oven. Please note that I am not a certified gas engineer.
How do i rebind this to the box please!
Really sorry - I'm not a gas engineer, so I don't know how to pair with the boiler.
Just what I needed, as we've moved into a new place with one of these programmers and you've explained it really well, so thanks
How to change the knobs or open the front panel please ? Thanks.
No idea I'm afraid. I'd suggest looking here: www.manualslib.com/manual/15092/Beko-Dg581.html#manual
Thanks so much, i just started cooking and thus helped me out a lot thabks ♥️
How do I change the batteries?
Ha, worked it out. Panel on front at bottom. But had to wear rubber gloves to push it down and off, as it was VERY stiff.
I didn't know, so thanks for coming back and sharing!
Where is the boiler?
nothing about battery change ,
Help!! I have a flashing warning sign and the heating is not working, any advice you can give me?
Hi This is my second thermostat the other one my engineer sent back he gave me a new one and now im habing problems with this one now the little flame 🔥 isnt comming on to let me know its on and if i turn it to OFF it still comes on 3 times in the night i have to turn the boiler off . Any advive please thank you
Not sure I can help with the flame icon. Sorry on that. However, the thermostat doesn't actually operate as on-off. You set periods of highs and lows, so day time you may want a high of 19 degrees, so the boiler will kick in when the temperature drops below 19. For the other periods, the same logic applies, it's just a lower temperature. Depending on what kind of house you get, you may find the temperature drops below 10 degrees. In my conservatory with poor insulation it's regularly at 5. If you have that overnight temperature set too high, it will kick in. The solution is to reduce the overnight temperature so it won't kick in. I hope that helps.
anybody know what to do when it will not turn on. Even if batteries have been replaced. Do i need a new one?
Sorry to hear that - and sorry for missing your comment. From the community here, it sounds like this thermostat is a bit delicate and doesn't always work. It depends what you mean by doesn't turn-on. If you mean the screen is blank and you can't get any response, then that sounds like it's broken. Sorry. If it's an intermittent problem where it looks on, but doesn't switch the boiler on when you want, then check the temperature for the thermostat. It will only turn the boiler-on when the temperature in the room is below the temperature on your thermostat. I hope that helps, but fear it won't.
Thanks sooooo Phil... love the simple straightforward way you explain this. Its all easy after seeing your video. Gratitude!
hello how do i clear my set heating progame and start over from fresh
Phil, could you please advise me what the code E 101 means?
Where so you put the gas bottle? And is there one or two?
Cant get mine to even go on....yes checked batteries
Sorry to hear that. It sounds broken to me.
what happens if the gas stove is not lighting and there is a spark?
Hi. I'm not a gas-safe engineer, so you would need to contact a gas-safe engineer to check. However, there are safety features within the appliance to prevent the flow of gas should the flame go out. Certainly if there is a spark, then if gas is coming-out, it will ignite eventually. You should confirm that the spark is being fired at all burners. If the gas ignites from a spark at another burner, the resulting fireball will be interesting. If you smell gas before it ignites, then I suggest you should vent the room before trying to ignite.
Noo this doesn't tell you how to use the oven just the hob 😭 stuck at my uncle's with it right now
I have found the guide in one of your comments and the oven is WORKING, hallelujah. Wish it was in the actual video
Just had one of these and I just want to be able to put the heating on and off as I need to so how do I do that please because I haven't a clue?
It's the beginning part of the video for about the first 2 minutes. You switch the heating to manual, and use the side buttons to adjust the target temperature.
@@hobbitprs Thanks very much indeed xx
How can I open up and down fire at the same time of the oven
Cause I just bought and can't understand how to operate it..hope someone can answer
Im so sick of these things, that require telepathy, and the people who fit them, giving a fast talk before flying out the door. Thank goodness for an effective communicator! Id still like an old style dial though.
Hi I wanted to know how to get its wi fi work back after change the batteries?
I'm not aware of needing to reset the signal after changing the batteries. It sounds a little odd, as this isn't how this kind of thing usually works, so could indicate a problem with your unit. Either way, you probably need to get a gas-safe engineer to look at the connection to your boiler if it's lost the connection. Sorry I can't be more help.
Useful thank you. If I didn’t want to copy into Tuesday. Can I set different times than Monday?
You can set different times for each day. You just need to enter the details manually for each day that you want to be different.
Thank you so much for the tutorial, the instructions left with my new boiler are useless. Was worried how to set it up for heating, dont really need the preset just to turn it off /on and adjust the temp . Thank you.
Thankyou
Can you use an app on your phone to use this instead?? How is it wireless without wifi??
You can get apps instead, but they're much more expensive. See things like Hive. In terms of your WiFi question, the easiest way to think about it is that the remote is generating its own WiFi signal that is not connected to the internet and only connected to your boiler. It's more like a radio-controlled car than your WiFi. If you want to use an app, then that requires an WiFi connection to connect the boiler to what ever control hub and mobile device you have. It's far more flexible as you can usually control the heating remotely over the internet rather than when you're in the house, but that comes at a premium.
@@hobbitprs cool…. Can I set it up with my existing boiler or ?
Why does it get switched off if I close it.., how do I bake cakes, cookies with doors open . Does it cook properly?
My exact question because I have small kids and that’s a big no no
1) Turn knob to gas 6 while pressing the knob in. 2) Turn on ignition. 3) Keep the knob pressed for 15 seconds while the flame is on to override the automatic shutoff feature. 4) Let go, it should work.
How do I switch on after changing batteries?
Set the auto presets Nothing. Load of SHITE. Why does nothing work the way it says it should eh? Roll on DEATH
I’m assuming this is 50cm ? Looks like you had room for a 60.
Gas pipe at the back prevented something bigger without ripping out the whole unit and making good.
Very useful vidio. Is there a battery in this control
Thanks. I assume so, and other comments suggest it can be changed, but I'm afraid I don't know how to change the batteries.
How do I change batteries on control
This was a big help! Wasn't sure how to use the timer. Thanks!
Really useful video Phil. As with Lu below I was having the same problem and your instructions are much clearer than the manual. Thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to upload this. I find it hard to follow written instructions so these CZcams videos are so welcomed and appreciated. Thank you soooo much. Happy 2023 to you, your family, friends and viewers. Xxx
Hi, is this for the heating (boiler only) or does switching it off also turns off the heat for the water?
It shouldn't impact your water heating. If you are having problems there, then it could be that your boiler has an internal problem. My default first step with boiler problems is to check that the water pressure within the heating system is correct including bleeding the radiators. You may need to adjust the pressure more than once if you're bleeding the radiators. Bad heating system water pressure can cause boilers to work incorrectly and have an impact on the water heating.
Hate this damn controller!
It is not the easiest to use!
I swear I was ready to panic when I couldn't understand what P1 and such meant (leaving my flat for the winter for the first time and trying to put it on automatic so it doesn't freeze) and your video was so helpful!
My Dad had one of these installed with a new boiler and apart from being obtuse to program which is bad enough. It also has sporadic faults, today it randomly went to flashing the year 22 and stopped heating the house. No one had touched it. He couldn't work out how to get it working again. Fortunately a neighbour managed to reenter the correct time and its going again. Are there known faults with this controller too?
Same happens to us it keeps randomly resetting and turns the heating on. 22 keeps flashing and we have to reset it. Annoying bit is it turns the heating on while flashing 22
Sorry to hear that. Comments on here seem to suggest it's not the best controller. My only thought would be that the batteries might be running down if it's losing the time.
Thank you! Plumber told me this was simple. Well yes once you know how. Useless manual.
Please can anyone help? I have this control panel and your video has been super helpful in teaching me how to set the timer. I would like my heating to be on 21°c 6am-7pm and 12°c 7pm-6am. However, the clock runs from 00:00am-11:59pm so to have my setting I would need 3 time slots (12°c 00:00am-6am, 21°c 6am-7pm, 12°c 7pm-11:59pm). Can anyone help as to how I can achieve this or a work around? When i go to bed at night can I override it to 12°c, and will it then still automatically come back on 21°c at 6am? How can I do this please? Hope this all makes sense! Thanks
Each Programme is basically a switch to go to a different setting. Most people want what you're describing, although they usually switch the heating off at some point during the day as well, but that's your choice. Essentially you have P1 as 6AM and 21C, then 7PM as 12C. Then the clock rolls over midnight to the next day, the 7PM programme is still active, so the temperature won't change until it hits the next P1 setting for the next day. I hope that makes sense.
Great explanation. On the unit i have there seem to be a P5 and P6 but they dont light up and cant be used. Is there any way to activate them?
It sounds like a slightly different unit, so I don't know I'm afraid. Sorry.
Thank you! This helped much more than the manual.
Mine is a Drayton Digistat, Wireless Theermostat, and seems to be more complicated. It registers the temporature I want on the small screen, but doesnt instruct the Boiler ( in the Washroom) to raise the temprature in the house. The recieving power box light, next to the Boiler, shows green, and the boiler is working. WhatsUp ?
I don't know, but I would guess that the signal is not getting through. You'd need to speak to the engineer who fitted the controller and connected it to the boiler.
Thank you. Your explanation makes it really easy to understand what I thought was a complicated bit of kit!
Hello and very many thanks for this informative video . Don’t know if you or anyone else has had this problem…….. the screen on my unit has frozen , I’ve changed the batteries, I’ve left the unit without batteries in for a few hours , put new batteries in again . Still the same , no matter which buttons I press the screen stays frozen ……… any ideas?
Oh no... If you've removed then replaced the batteries and it's not reset, then that sounds fundamental, as that usually clears the chip cache, which is what can affect all devices with chips. I'd suggest you'll need a replacement, but you could see what an engineer says.
Hi, I have a similar problem but my screen is completely blank so I have changed the batteries but it is still blank, is there any way to reset it? Nothing happens when I press any of the buttons, thanks
I've got the non programmable version... Shouldn't it be fitted away from electrics as they interfer with the signal?
In principle yes, but it depends on the amount of electrical interference. Don't put it next to a microwave, or put your microwave between the control and the boiler (just like WiFi), but I don't think you need to worry too much about electrics. Range is probably the bigger concern, and yes, electrics can affect range.
Thanks so much for this useful video. Would you know why from time to time oir control flashes the year 22. We have to reset the year, month and time to get it to work again.
I've not experienced that, so don't know why that's happening. Someone else here seems to be getting the same problem, but I guess that no solace!
@@hobbitprs Thanks for getting back to me. It’s been ok since I asked you. I did read someone had said there is this fault with some of them and the manufacturer is aware. If it continues I will contact them.
These are absolutely rubbish quality. Mine is faulty keeps switching off and on. Is there a app for phones that can control this?
Seems quite a few people are experiencing poor quality. I'm pretty sure there's no app, as their now wifi set-up for the controller. There are controllers that can do that kind of thing, but they are far more expensive.
Perfectly explained, thanks very much!
The battery is flashing on the control pad please please help
Really sorry - I don't know how to change the battery. I'd assume (but don't know) that the cover or part of the cover comes off.
