Very good video. I've flown economy to Dublin pre pandemic, well shall we say, the year the pandemic began. And it was a very comprehensive flight. Did wanna fly BA this year to Greece but the Heathrow parking charges are eye watering at £139 for 1 week. In comparison to parking on dads drive for free with him dropping me off with a 5 minute drive to Gatwick from his house.

What about Lagos in Nigeria?
Short-haul business class is only worth it if you need the extra baggage allowance or the premium security line if you're planning on arriving with little time. Same thing goes worldwide, not only Europe, even with the larger 2 by 2 recliners on U.S. short-haul business class.

Great video and review. Cathay's business seats really has not changed much compared to others major carriers. Their first class seat, though one of the best in the industry, is also very old and has not changed, while other airlines are offering far more superior seats. It really need to ramp up its effort in upgrading its products as it has fallen behind in rankings.
their catering also doesn't algin with the price and is sadly not up to standard
@@solotrippin09 I am assuming you are referring to their business class catering prodcuts. Just curious, in what way does it not up to standard? I only had the chance to fly their business class 1x haha, and it felt pretty nice, but that was years ago.

yup you're right - I never actually noticed as I always try to get a seat at the front of the plane so I can get off faster but on a flight to IST, I noticed the seats change after about row 15ish - and boy do they look like they got them 2nd hand from Ryanair

Ugh no wonder Lufthansa is the cheapest business class when everyone is at $10k, they are $4200
I thought the same but it think it has to do with the bailout - they have to repay the German Gov. back quick so they are going to undercut everyone to make back the money - but they didn't deploy the new seats yet so everyone is getting the old experience first
Club Europe is a very poor experience now.
it has defiantly gotten worse but has improved since the 2015 era of cost cutting - Do&Co do a good job and its hard to compete with EasyJet and Ryanair when YQ fees are so expensive leaving from LHR

I know - even though I went early funny thing was I was even late to the gate and no one was there as they all boarded - HKG didn't change the screens as it still said wait to board when everyone was on the plane
This flight is probably indefinitely suspended or rerouted now due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
I think they re-routed to LX via BKK as I know this is an option - if not its just a very long flight

Good video, but please note that for Club Europe the checked in luggage allowance is 2 x 32Kg, which is 64Kg, not 46Kg which would be 2 suitcases in economy.
Thanks - I thought it was 32Kg's too but when went and fact checked it misread the hand carry weight - it even says in the video 32Kg lol - I just looked in the wrong area

Thanks for that :) - in LHR there are 5 terminal but technically there are only 4 - 2,3,4 &5 - T1 got demolished back in 2015 and the remainder was absorbed by T2 - any of the new marketing you hear refer to Heathrow T1-3 as Heathrow Central now

Five star review of a two star business class.
not gonna lie - not a lot of people like the seat and I get why. but when I flew with them I was 1 of 5 people and if you look at the score most of it wasn't the best - but the service was very good - just as good as SQ so that tipped it the other way. would I fly with them again in that seat, probably not which is why I said I would like to try their new seat when it comes out.
I must be one of those that didn't know. I always thought Heathrow was spread across FIVE terminals. I now have to go through my travel records to find out which airport I was at when my boarding pass said I was departing from Terminal Five. I was so sure I was at Heathrow.

yeah its not that well mentioned. so technically there are 5 terminals - but back in 2015 they closed T1 due to its age and parts of the terminal was incorporated into T2 - if you ever fly out of T1-3 you will now hear it being referred to as Heathrow Central :)
For me, the most important part of a review is, how much footwell space is there? no mention that i could find in this review.
that actually is a fair point that I kind of did gloss over - will take it on board moving forward :) . but for LH, the footwell space is just as big as what you would expect on other airlines with similar seats (due to the fact that the footwell is under the seat infront). if you want truly large leg space then BA, Korean Air, JAL and Gulf Air would be your best options as they don't have a footwell per se.
This guy sure loves his face !! Pity the sound was set so low (even using stereo headphones I had to increase volume a lot, and his fast speech pattern needs to be replaced by captions. 2/10 for effort.
