With all due respect, everyones learns from somebody else. Even Shakespeare. The Beatles. Fred Astaire. Sergio Lione was King of the Western genre. Joe Kool, who starred in three of his blockbuster hit westerns, just anglosized it for english speaking viewers.

I love watching Laramie still today. I can dream of a day, turning on the TV and there's a brand-new episode of Laramie. Just imagine how great that would be!

Great musical arrangements from Nelson Riddle. He wrote all those fine swingers for Nat, Frank, Dean, etc., but his ballad writing and film score chops were superb as well.

"The whole crew wants this film to be great". And it is.

After Hatteras left, my grandmother became a security guard at the building. I was a very young kid (5) or so, i remember there being a security box that she would work during the day. Well, after the removal of all Hatteras equipment and office equipment that office became where she stayed. Some of the rooms off of the main lounge you see there was her bedroom, kitchen and such. Her name was Kathryn Eleanor Sherrill. I used to ride my bike though all of those long buildings... Great memories, RIP Kathryn; I love you.

Could have been one of the greatest films of all time had one scene been left out.

Pre-Interstate America when people did all their shopping localy and even the car dealerships were downtown fixtures. It wasn't long before the shopping malls located at the intersections of major highways sucked the life out of small town America. I feel bad for all the smokers in the film because most of them must've had slow painful deaths. The lucky ones had heart attacks. I didn't see a single overweight person though.

I loved watching John Smith and Robert Fuller on Laramie. John was a handsome man. My husband and I watch old westerns on TV. The Lone Ranger, The Durango Kid movies, etc. Sorry that John Smith is no longer with us.

I love the comments about these guys being "real men". There is a belief that Smith was gay. He was managed by notorious gay manager Henry Wilsonn. Also, Smith had a number of gay friends: Tony Perkins, Lance Fuller and there was sometime beard Natalie Wood. Of course on Laramie Fuller and Smith's pants couldn't have gotten any tighter .It seemed to be all they cared about. It makes me wonder about people's concept of real men.

Terry Frost had a million stories to tell about his days as a B movie actor. I would see him at the festivals in the evening sitting on a couch with people gathered around him. I wish I had a tape recorder with a dozen tapes. He did write a book on acting but not on his experiences.

After her film/TV career ended she went to college and earned a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in English and taught college for two decades!

I wish Direct TV would not show silent movies after midnight but would show them during the day and evenings....People just can't stay up and watch them at 3:00 in the middle of the night....

Sunset Carson....My Mom's favorite cowboy....She couldn't resist his "Yes Ma'am" Southern drawl being she was a southeast Alabama farm girl lived from 1918 until 2020....

At 81 I believe that I have seen all of Sunset Carson and Lash LaRues movies....

Wow even though i grew up here in Los Angeles didn't know all these famous Western stars were here in Hollywood. RIP John Smith
