Fishing Northern Remote Lakes For Splake 2024

What an Epic trip this was in search of Splake. My Bucket List fish for sure. I finally got to sink my hooks into a splake. I can't believe they fight so hard for a smaller fish. Beautiful looking fish, that what I can see. Such a remote beautiful lake that Lyndsay and I were on, so many fish were caught today.

Like and Subscribe. These Walleyes in Northern Ontario can be quite difficult to catch. You have to be on your A game to catch them or even get one to strike. My strategy was paddle tails and crank baits fishing them on drop offs and ledges. There is going to be a few more movies from this trip so stay tuned. Like and Subscribe

Like and Subscribe. All I have to say is wow! Fishing the Bay of Quinte is very difficult, but also rewarding as you will see in this video. The Bay of Quinte is a geat place to catch all species of fish, but in this video we were targeting largemouth, using spinnerbaits. Very weedy at times so you had to run the spinnerbait fast about the weeds and just below the surface, awesome way to catch ...

Like and Subscribe. It was dog hot today trying to fish for these walleye and Smallmouth. Nothing was hitting except for snags and weeds. I should have known that the fish would be deep since a big storm was rolling through the next day. Always read and watch your weather channel. It will change your day on the water. Like and Subscribe. What a day! That is all I have to say, since I never caught or even saw a Crappie. I was targeting them hard, and using all my knowledge to catch one and nothing happened. Like and Subscribe. A Grind on The Grand is suitable for what you would call this fishing adventure. I was looking through my tackle box for Lures to throw, using live bait. I admitt I caught some decent Rock Bass, and almost lost my rod. All in All it was a good Grindy day. Like and Subscribe

I grew up fishing the Grand in Brantford , a great fishery. Do you mind sharing where the river narrows like this? I visit my dad when i come back into town and we like to revisit the Grand together - always looking for new spots. Pm me if you dont want to answer publicly. Great videos

Looks like a fun time. Cookie cutter is better than being skunked 😆. I recommend that you tether your paddle because somehow my paddle came off my kayak one day without me noticing but luckily I had it on a leash so I just pulled it back in. Btw, if you ever get a chance, try Trooper lake, I just came back from vacation there and it's loaded with bass. Averaged 3-4lbs each day I was there.
I will look into getting a tether for my paddle, thanks for the advice and a new lake to check out. 3-4 pounds is pretty damn good

ive been trying to get a perch at shades mill for a week everyone is telling me they are easy to catch but every summer for the past 2 years ive been trying to catch one
Shades Mill to me is fished out, or they are very smart and has seen all those worms and lures before. Use something that is outside the box.

Nice vid! Going to try the Grand around the dam, York. Never been, except once for 30min at the dam, lol. I guess finding parking near shore fishing spots is the hardest thing, as well as access? I do not have waders, would love walleye, bass and pike if possible.
Parking isn’t that bad, also having waders would be a plus. Access isn’t bad actually. There is a pavilion you can walk under and have river access.
Looks like a nice spot for sure! nothing wrong with those catches at all. I have one of those spinnerbaits but could never figure out how to properly tie it on (didn't come with instructions), so never used it
The Thornapple river goes through Caledonia. The Grand is North and East and goes through Lowell and Cascade.

Yep! My go to spot is now way too far for me to get to, was sad. I wonder how long this will last.
I tell myself a tough day on the water is still better than working. I have the same yak, 10ft version but wish I got the 12. I use the Scotty transducer arm and finder mount on mine, flip it up and down as needed.
You’re absolutely right with the fishing and work ratio lol. I have seen those Scotty mounts for the ducers, I might have to pick one up for myself.

Tough day. I found a few Crappie in early May in the water on the other side of the road but not many. Last year was a different story. They were up in the shallows until early June and plentiful. Thanks for the video. Always enjoy the kayak videos.
I knew I should have been on the other side of the ponds. Thanks for the tip. I usually fish the wood structure for crappie. I tried on this side and nothing. I’ll be making more kayak videos, stay tuned!

Stumbled upon your channel. I bought a Seahawk 4 Last Year and am thinking of adding a floor. Did you add more modifications? How did the floor hold up? How did the plastic chairs feel on that floor? Seems sketchy sitting up so high? Lemme know.
It’s a great inflatable boat, I never did anymore mods. The floor held up very well. I only use the lawn chairs in it when I am in a pond or small lake. When there is no waves it’s pretty good, wavy I wouldn’t suggest it.
